You are a bold and brave woman! I needed to see this at this point in my life. It reminded me of my SELF and that I should find it in this stale, stale university town. I hope you can read the sincerity in this and most of the other responses to this video, and I truly hope it hits you hard. You deserve the impact of many good intentions here, and I honestly hope they may propel you far away from the common, shallow reality of the majority. When I have a red dress I will post a video reply
@krace89 I liked your comment! I think we all "deserve the impact of many good intentions here" sometimes, even just to remember that we can be happy and serene with who we are.
I can completely (relate?) to this experience of fear as self-CONsciousness, and the power of the experience of walking (or dancing) through it. As a man, I can see that having a shaved head could be much more of a challenge for women than men. I've had a shaved head (with occasional re-emergence of hair in cold weather) for about 17 years, so now it just 'feels'/looks like 'me', and on women, to me, it's really beautiful - bald and bold !
@CenkKaptanoglu you're damn right that's bonobo - lol - i've listened to the album over and over so many times too! he comes to portand a couple times a year, sometimes with a live band - fun to dance to live!
your honestly my fu7cking hero! no girls these days have the guts to do what your doing, dont stop beliveing in yourself! one day you could really make a difference to the world!
@ShyIsBoyCrazy because there doesn't have to be a 'reason why' we express ourselves - to simply express ourselves in the moment and enjoy being alive.
I like your dancing! It is a great way of self expression and I think majority of the time we all need it. It is so hard for us to be true to ourselves even through dancing because inside we are afraid of being not liked.
"...(hair industry) is creating abuse and suffering in this world that is immense compared to the gain of this personal choice and individual style that our hair represents."
Personal choice is probably the most IMPORTANT thing in the entire world. People need CHOICE. People need the right to choose, and to make decisions, and to be different. By taking away a person's individuality, you take away their identity and they become just another number.
@scphotograph personal CHOICE is prbly the mst detrimental thing in the ENTIRE WORLD...THINK of ur "prsnl choice" & @ wht being's expense? ppl don't take responsibility for their "choices", & that's the very reason ths world is fucked! because ppl want their hair die and chemical shame:poo many animals are suffering from being tested on for these CHOICE products. You already are another number RIGHT NOW, you think you are mkng a CHOICE, you think you have an identity to protect? HA, LOOK AGAIN!
@LLCraver I think I have as much of an identity as I can with what I'm given. You're saying that I should justify conformity by arguing that shaving off all my hair will actually make a difference in the environment? Are you fucking for real? Think about what you're saying. I use organic shampoo, that is animal friendly, and made with recycled plastic. That's my CHOICE. Personal choice is what SEPARATES us from becoming just another number. I don't understand the logic in your argument(s).
@scphotograph very interesting, look @ your starting point - "i think", so u r coming from your thoughts right away, meaning you are coming from separation btwn your "thoughts" & what is ACTUALLY HAPPENING. I am not "arguing" as you put it...I'm offering one to take a look @ hw thy live their lives and wht thy allw & accpt to manifest in this wrld basd on protecting an image. I don't need to "think about what I'm saying" bcs wht i'm sayng comes from cmmn sense, not thoughts! U R A #! Get REAL!
@LLCraver You reject choice because you refuse to take responsibility in your own actions and to admit fallacy. "ppl don't take responsibility for their "choices"..." supports my claim and I can use this quote in reflection to you because you rejected your identity and therefore the word "ppl" also includes yourself and not yourself as separate. I could really go deep, youtube won't allow me so I suggest reading Sartre, Heidegger, Camus, Nietzsche and the like. Robert Solomon has great lectures.
@daiitokumyouou899 yes, most certainly i haven't @ times in my life taken responsibility 4 my actions - choice is an illusion - im not coming from a starting point of blame/superiority, but from a starting pt. of seeing it w/in myself. I realize that when Im writing/speaking & I use the words 'you' & 'people' im also held accountable, but instead of arguing over ideas, I will direct myself 2 stop acting in ways that promote abuse in this world. I have read what u suggest - limited stuff
@LLCraver So you embrace a sort of 'aresponsibility' if you will? Choice may be an illusion but that doesn't matter, it is similar to the free will dilemma that Sartre does a fantastic job of addressing. What matters is where one is and what one can do with ones situation. To assume choice is an illusion gets us no where as a result we assume a premise: The universe exist and we can learn from it. Do you really think a world without abuse would be a good world? Refer to Nietzsche on hardship.
@daiitokumyouou899 simple - there is no where we need to get - just stop, breathe, be here...instead of entertaining knowledge and information that has no real practicality in the physical reality. While we are busy with philosophy in our head a child is dieing every 5 seconds - it's not whether or not I 'think' the world would be 'good' w/o abuse - it's not about good/bad - abuse is unacceptable and is happening, so it is our responsibility as inhabitants of this earth to stand and stop it.
@LLCraver "Limited stuff", oh and limited where exactly? Of course it has limitations but as does relativity or any scientific principle for that matter, this doesn't mean it isn't useful. There is an entire collection of philosophy which deals with these questions of choice, social identity and free will. Each has its limitations and strengths, which is why it is good to think of ideas as tools and not absolutes.
@daiitokumyouou899 i am not interested in what philosophers have to say about life, because I am life, I am here - i am discovering my self-expression that is not contingent on another individual's beliefs, thoughts, ideas, perceptions, etc. - I have enough of that bullshit to sort through in my own head that merely causes separation and delusion. All that is is a distraction. Philosophy can't feed a child.
@LLCraver No, two working hands feed a child. Philosophy can put those working hands to work. It gives one a sort of understanding of the self and an understanding of others that can improve cooperation. If you think abuse is unacceptable, go to med school and join doctors without borders. Or pursue a similar venture. Hardship isn't to simply be ignored it is to be overcome with jihad, a struggle. You are ignoring the problem by simply "...[being] here".
@daiitokumyouou899 i'm not speaking about just being here and doing nothing, but being here 2 practically take care of what needs 2 be sorted out in this physical xistence. It's a process of stopping the limitations of the mind & realizing that I am life, so, therefore, I am responsible for all life, as me, 1 & =...so I must stand & move in the physical world to direct myself in order to implement change.
Im working toward change, but I realize that it starts w/me - Im also attending school.
@LLCraver I do not at all disagree with that. For the record I am not rejecting the premise of conformity, but instead the premise of conformity without identity. You can achieve what you just said without rejecting the self. Simone De Beauvoir and Sartre both argue the purpose of life is life but life without identity is absurd "Camus, "The Stranger"".
@LLCraver Consider yourself an individual, identify with others as individuals. Pursue knowledge so that you can teach it to those who do not have it. This is such that a better cooperative environment where individuals can work together under a common understanding to achieve a great goal and overcome hardship. Personally a dying child every 5seconds doesn't phase me because I know 3 more are born every 5 seconds, This is a problem nature will correct with disaster.
@daiitokumyouou899 The fact that a dying child doesn't phase u exposing u for the deceiver that u are. This reveals that u are only interested in spouting off words of philosophers & are not able to take responsibility 4 yourself as 1 & equal to this world. Could u tell a child that is starving to death to their face 'the fact that you are dying doesn't phase me, another child will be born in seconds' - WTF! - this conversation is over. Disregard urself as life & u will be disregarded as life.
@scphotograph - It is within 'Personal Choice' and 'Free Will' that one decides to Rape a Child. Though some may use their 'Free Choice' to attempt to do something 'good' in this world - most of the 'Personal Choices' are made within Self-Interest and costing the lives of others. Seriously - 'Personal Choice' = it's just not worth it.
@GabrielZamoraM Let me put this as simply as I can for you. Choice is choosing to appose the system as I do. Choice is CHOOSING to volunteer my time to people who are less fortunate. Lack of choice is Fascism. We are governed by a system who allows such things to happen. We are governed by this current system because people are content with the lack of choice they actually have. The only reason this isn't changing is people honestly don't fucking care. Not until their starving.
what to do if you are a man and scared to be bald too ? ! As I can't imagine to put a red dress, I am going to keep my hair on... well as long as It consent to stay on the top of my head...
my opinion about your way to be honest and to forgive yourself I think a little black dress with a little of makeup would be a good alternative but that's just an opinion of a stupid french man
