To be honest...its a beautiful piece of work. But a feel its a song of death...and in my state of mind it would be the perfect song to die too..its that powerful. So i would question its need by the listener
The live version of this blows me away, and this version is stunning as well. I don't cry when listing to music, there's only 3 songs that make me cry out of the 1000 some songs on my iPod and this is one of those three. True beauty and music right here!
@wonerghost extremely well-said. i'm more of a post-punk-new wave fan (despite being born in the mid 80s, ha), but this track moves you in a way that transcends even its beautiful lyrics. "the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls" is among the best lines of the last 50 years.
I'll just be over here in my computer chair listening to this song hitting the repeat button over and over again like we're on a first name basis. Amazing song, I really can't place it, goosebumps and the inability so sing along come to mind thanks to the powerful emotions this song conveys.
As a fan primarily of dubstep and metal and rap, I still appreciate talent and art in it's many forms, the reason I like dubstep is because of the unique sound, metal mainly for the hardcore instrumentals, rap(and very little rap), because of the creative writing, but something like this takes art and music to a whole other level. The music is simple but fits the theme perfectly, and the words are so beautiful and well written, and poetic in a way that is so scarce today, songs like these are i

Excelente versión. La andaba buscando hace tiempo. Esta versión acústica es la mejor y supera a la versión del film El Graduado que fue re editada montándole una batería arrítmica cuyo pulso no encajaba con la versión acústica. Gracias por subirla.
This is my all time favorite song by Simon & Garfunkel. I have performed it many times since I learned to play and sing it as a preteen in Jr. High. Its the best song about Humanity creating its own Gods I have ever heard. Yes, this song is prophetic, and eerie I agree with MikeDinze on that. It still sends chills through me whenever I heard the original or perform it.
I hear it as a song about how advertising or propaganda programs peoples minds. Did they program you into believing Co2/Carbon Dioxide causes global warmings? It's the air you breath out every minute of your life and it's taken in by the trees without which they would not grow tall or produce the oxygen we need.
this version is just so much better than the electric version. artie's voice is pure and beautiful. what a gift. paul wrote an incredible song, and artie did a beautiful harmonic arrangement. they were unique and incredible together; the meaning of synergy. truly, as one interviewer once said - arguably, the best duo in rock and roll ever.

@mattandpatti222 Dude...are you in some sort of institution? You're seeing things that aren't there. Can you tell me what lines are satanic? And can you tell why you believe said lines are satanist? Perhaps "Hello, darkness my old friend" simply means the darkness...the absence of someone to talk to...no one but the echoes to hear your voice. It's a feeling only some know, but those who know it know it well.
@thewriter1008 Dude... are you blind as a bat? They are Jews AKA Zionist Synagogue of Satan. You are asleep. do you know any thing about Zionist in Fake made up Israel? go read there lyrics and WAKE UP.
@mattandpatti222 What makes you believe this? Give me a good reason to believe you, and I may. Otherwise, I'm not going to believe any conspiracy theories. I simply have no reason to believe them. So give me some evidence, something I can back up with a reputable source. No blogs, no hazy photographs, no rants, just cold hard facts that I can look up myself and verify. Facts with sources cited. I know the lyrics by heart, and I see no conspiracy.
@blue4everd You aren't too bright, are you? The idea was to show how ridiculous people like Lady Gaga are. She's not real music. She's a product. An oddity. The rest of the list is real music. If you like Lady Gaga, I feel sorry for you.
@fenderguy97 Yes i do like Lady Gaga. She is talented and brilliant. she isnt a "product". shit, Tony Bennett even said shes great to work with. He called her the next Elvis. i think ur just a troll. all these bands would of actually appreciate her.
@fenderguy97 "Stairway." It's a good song, but nowhere near as good as the other songs on Zep IV. Moreover, it's also the best example of stereotypical classic rock. Songs such as "Hotel California," which is far from The Eagles best work, or "Free Bird," which pales in comparison to "Simple Man" and "The Ballad of Curtis Lowe." If you wanted to do Zeppelin, you should've put down "Going to California" or "Kashmir." Also, with Pink Floyd, "Echoes," or "If," or something.
@thewriter1008 i wanted to write the bands biggest hits. Of course Kashmir is the song they are mostly proud of and honestly i think its better than Stairway to heaven , but Stairway is their biggest hits
@fenderguy97 Well, Pink Floyd's biggest hit isn't "Wish You Were Here" at all. Probably "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2" or "Money." Also, what I meant to do there was point out that there is no fake music, and that an artist's inclusion in the mainstream or their presence in current culture doesn't mean they're bad. I noticed "Poker Face." But I acknowledge Lady Gaga is actually a good singer, pianist and songwriter. All music is real, and no genre is inherently bad.
@fenderguy97 No thank you. I'd rather duct-tape his mouth shut and lock him in a record store, where maybe, just maybe, he can begin a reeducation that will make him regret his many horrid transgressions to the world of music.
It might interest you to know, however, that Queen is considering hiring Lady Gaga on as a lead singer. Yes, that Queen. Brian May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon, and the late, great Freddie Mercury Queen. So apparently they see something in her.
@fenderguy97 Found somewhat of a problem with that,Lady Gaga-Poker face. It's good but not great like the others are,but whatever everyone has there own type of taste. :)
