  • kinda gives me goose bumps .. like when I hear "Whiter shade of pale"

    ok figure that one out

    old guy

  • When i die, i would like this song played on my funreal.

  • Great song.....

  • Thé best song ever...

  • To be honest...its a beautiful piece of work. But a feel its a song of death...and in my state of mind it would be the perfect song to die too..its that powerful. So i would question its need by the listener

  • To be honest...its a beautiful piece of work. But a feel its a song of death...and in my state of mind it would be the perfect song to die too..

  • Music is music, it's ok to like something. Just don't make someone feel bad for it.

  • Surely one of the greatest songs ever written.

  • The live version of this blows me away, and this version is stunning as well. I don't cry when listing to music, there's only 3 songs that make me cry out of the 1000 some songs on my iPod and this is one of those three. True beauty and music right here!

  • I just don't think there's any song more beautiful than this...

  • This is very great song :) i love oldest song

  • Actually better than the 1965-66 overlapping redux. It sounds more primitive.

  • ese es un vide genial y la musica tambie ok por eso me gusta

  • They can harmonize like nobody else.

  • @wonerghost extremely well-said. i'm more of a post-punk-new wave fan (despite being born in the mid 80s, ha), but this track moves you in a way that transcends even its beautiful lyrics. "the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls" is among the best lines of the last 50 years.

  • listen the silence

    enjoy the silence

  • this is my favourite song x

  • Sehr gut ich mag es . Danke and Tschuess

  • i listen to rap since i'm 10 but this is epic.

  • Aliens write a hell of a tune...

  • Love doesn't have to be sacrifice. It doesn't have to be physical contact. It just has to be trust. And trust alone.

  • Good good good!!!

  • Everyone should check out Ascension of the Watchers version of this song. =)

  • perfect.

  • Obiecaj mi to.

  • Simon and Garfunkel: the OG hipsters.

Note to hipsters, your gay folky shit has been done before - just listen to Simon and Garfunkel.

    you're not original.

    <3 S&G

  • @MistressAfton Note to you, talking shit about new music doesn't make you original no matter how you word your comment. NO THUMBZ FOR YOU!!

  • this just reaches my heart.

  • The first verse of this would go perfectly with the trailer to a horror movie

  • I'll just be over here in my computer chair listening to this song hitting the repeat button over and over again like we're on a first name basis. Amazing song, I really can't place it, goosebumps and the inability so sing along come to mind thanks to the powerful emotions this song conveys.

  • sucha touching damn thing :/

  • Someone help me break free...

  • This is very important for me......

    *really*

  • Is bad to play MW3 to this and pull 29k to 4d?

  • @TheJokernaught wait what

  • @TheCaulkerman I get really high k/d's listening to this song. No clue why. It's my jam.

  • Man, they don't write em like they used to...

  • It sends chills up my back listening to this song but i love it

  • wonderful chills run through me during this song

  • Very nice sound quality.

  • Its amazing. gives me weird chills

  • As a fan primarily of dubstep and metal and rap, I still appreciate talent and art in it's many forms, the reason I like dubstep is because of the unique sound, metal mainly for the hardcore instrumentals, rap(and very little rap), because of the creative writing, but something like this takes art and music to a whole other level. The music is simple but fits the theme perfectly, and the words are so beautiful and well written, and poetic in a way that is so scarce today, songs like these are i

  • @wonerghost I agree totally and wholly. Some songs even out of our nomral genres are just so great you like them:)

  • @wonerghost Except dubstep isn't music. It's a bunch of awful computer-generated BEOWWWWWWW BEOWWWWWWW BUDDDA BUDDA BUDDA noises and screeches. It's akin to nails on a chalkboard.

  • That's the problem with new music. theres no such thing as feeling today, its all computers and loops and fixed lyrics, it's disgusting.

  • Not to say there's no talented musicians today, it's just music doesn't express feeling anymore like it used to.

  • @wonerghost Isn't that just intriguing.

  • Goosebumps...

  • this song is sad... and scary :/ heard it from The Graduate :p

  • in restless dreams i walk alone

  • Every time I hear this song I grab a drink. Silence like a cancer grows

  • i just cried

  • its awesome

  • Take my arms that I might reach you...but my word like silent raindrops fell and echoed in the wells of silence...

  • Jestem z Polski.

  • and the mighty quest is started to find fenderguy's comment

  • Para antes de dormir

  • Ta piosenka to balsam dla mych uszu... Uwielbiam!

  • so beautiful

  • One of the greatest songs ever written, hands down. What does it mean though?

  • go to rainymood(dot)com then play this

  • It's okay to cry..

  • @grgbnntt11 No matter if you are man or woman. I think crying is beautiful in itself.

  • @grgbnntt11 Why...Why on earth would you cry?

  • @xxafrizzlexx For morons like you...pity.

  • @xxafrizzlexx look up Paul Simon- The Sound of Silence 9/11 Ground Zero. That, my friend, is why.

  • I just showed my sisters new born baby this album because I love her and I think everyone should hear it.

  • The Graduate.

  • LOVE their songs so much. They are real, talk to my heart and have the feeling of another era.

    Greetings from Greece

  • I grew up with this songs in the background.

  • I heard this landing in Vietnam as well.

  • this is nice art

  • świetne.najlepsze wykonanie..:D

  • How did these guys possibly write this beautiful music growing up in New York City... I'm having a little trouble picturing the same thing happening today.

  • @jmeyer, HAHAHA That's Awesome. @fenderguy97 I Must Listen To Real Music Then!!

  • Excelente versión. La andaba buscando hace tiempo. Esta versión acústica es la mejor y supera a la versión del film El Graduado que fue re editada montándole una batería arrítmica cuyo pulso no encajaba con la versión acústica. Gracias por subirla.

  • This is my all time favorite song by Simon & Garfunkel. I have performed it many times since I learned to play and sing it as a preteen in Jr. High. Its the best song about Humanity creating its own Gods I have ever heard. Yes, this song is prophetic, and eerie I agree with MikeDinze on that. It still sends chills through me whenever I heard the original or perform it.

  • fools, you do not know

  • @ThirdDimensionEnergy A silence like A cancer grows.

  • I 100 percent understand this song I learned it in the hardest way.... try talking to someone that ignores you...

  • @fenderguy97 you tainted that list with Lady Gaga

  • " 2012 Anthem "

  • this version is just so much better than the electric version. artie's voice is pure and beautiful. what a gift. paul wrote an incredible song, and artie did a beautiful harmonic arrangement. they were unique and incredible together; the meaning of synergy. truly, as one interviewer once said - arguably, the best duo in rock and roll ever.

  • Wow,this is beautiful! I like this a lot better than the electric version(but I like the electric one, too):D

  • I like this song <3

  • 23 people are listening without hearing!!

  • i just melt when i hear this

  • @Pillowsinmypants did you hear the version of only Paul Simon? Don't worry about the world it will get there in its own terms ;)

  • Your craz, your crazy man; your crazy.....I like you....but your crazy.

  • the Watchmen

  • i'm a raver but i love this song!!

  • @BlondeRaverBaby Dont disrespect RAVERS. You, my friend, are NOT a raver, you are a wannabe listening to hardstyle, which is not "rave" , . Me, on the other hand, is a raver, listen to psychedelic goa, full-on, etc. word.

  • This night i have the chance for give another meaning to this song. special times listening it

  • thats one of the best songs of the world, when i hear the song, i must sing it too

  • Mind blowing that only 7 years before, as Tom and Jerry, they recorded "Hey Schoolgirl". Talk about finding you own musical identity....

  • Like this song forever

  • this is easily one of the best songs. ever.

  • realment emocionant... cada cop que l escolto m emociona

    gracies :)

  • epic :)

  • chills...

  • my guitar instructor and my dad have opened a lot of doors to good music

  • people talking without speaking

    people hearing without listening

  • @JanaWalz The new theme song for Fox News?

  • There's something eerie about this song...something ethereal and almost prophetic...might just be me :)

  • @MikeDinze that was the point of the song, to make people think about what they were doing and how it affected everyone and the world

  • @MikeDinze It isn't just YOU. Everyone wants to think it's just THEM.

    I feel it too. :-)

  • @MikeDinze Ya, it is HELLO DARKNESS MY OLD FRIEND! they are JEW-ish synagogue of Satan bunch of Satanist. Read the words, totally Satanist.

  • @mattandpatti222 No,they're not its just good music.Period.

  • @GradyIsEpic Good music does not come from Satan. It also does not come from fake JEWS! study and pray that you are counted worthy.

  • @mattandpatti222 Newsflash idiot Satan created the universe along with music.

  • @mattandpatti222 Dude...are you in some sort of institution? You're seeing things that aren't there. Can you tell me what lines are satanic? And can you tell why you believe said lines are satanist? Perhaps "Hello, darkness my old friend" simply means the darkness...the absence of someone to talk to...no one but the echoes to hear your voice. It's a feeling only some know, but those who know it know it well.

  • @thewriter1008 Dude... are you blind as a bat? They are Jews AKA Zionist Synagogue of Satan. You are asleep. do you know any thing about Zionist in Fake made up Israel? go read there lyrics and WAKE UP.

  • @mattandpatti222 What makes you believe this? Give me a good reason to believe you, and I may. Otherwise, I'm not going to believe any conspiracy theories. I simply have no reason to believe them. So give me some evidence, something I can back up with a reputable source. No blogs, no hazy photographs, no rants, just cold hard facts that I can look up myself and verify. Facts with sources cited. I know the lyrics by heart, and I see no conspiracy.

  • @MikeDinze HAH,this happens when the autor of one song trasmicts (or something like) real emotions.

  • Absolute magical

  • brill song!!! I love silence......having lost too many to death! silence is lovley......

  • Posted the lyrics on a status and they said this song was too old.

    i said legends never expire.

  • Muito bom, essa canção me lembra quando eu morava em Manaus..

    (Rio de janeiro-Brazil)

  • "The words of the profets are written on the subway walls"....this is just poetry. Fuckin poetry.

  • Me wanted today look for you and only find silence and darkness, as yesterday and forever you amare.mio....

  • hoy. para mía querida he venido A hablar contigo . mía otra ves en la oscuridad,

el pasado vuelve siempre como ayer ,y para siempre que estés muy bien .

    gracias Garfunkel y Simón.

  • Sound of silence - Simon and Garfunkel

Stairway to heaven - Led Zeppelin

    Yesterday - The Beatles

    Satisfaction - Rolling Stones

    Pokerface - Lady Gaga

Sultans of swing - Dire Straits

Wish You were here - Pink Floyd

Find one mistake , and give thumbs up if you listen to real music...

  • @fenderguy97 lady gaga...

  • @fenderguy97 what the hell is pokerface - lady gaga

  • @Cardelothion its the one mistake.. ( its new pop music) dont listen to it ..

  • @fenderguy97 Pokerface - Lady gaga? real muysic,, you are a joke my friend,,, a joke.

  • @iputsoupinyoursoup FIND ONE MISTAKE! IT SAY

  • @fenderguy97 why throw lady gaga into this? ur just being a troll...

  • @blue4everd You aren't too bright, are you? The idea was to show how ridiculous people like Lady Gaga are. She's not real music. She's a product. An oddity. The rest of the list is real music. If you like Lady Gaga, I feel sorry for you.

  • @fenderguy97 lady gaga poker face.... -.- that' s the intruder.

  • @fenderguy97 Yes i do like Lady Gaga. She is talented and brilliant. she isnt a "product". shit, Tony Bennett even said shes great to work with. He called her the next Elvis. i think ur just a troll. all these bands would of actually appreciate her.

  • @blue4everd Her DEMON is talented! she is a MK demon possessed whore!

  • @fenderguy97 THE MISTAKE IS LADY GAGA! I WON! I WON!! THANKS ALL MY FANS!! AWWW YEA!!

  • @fenderguy97 FIFTH LINE: You mispelled the word SHIT!!! Using too many letters!!!

  • @fenderguy97 what mistake? You clearly spelled everything right.

  • @fenderguy97 "Stairway." It's a good song, but nowhere near as good as the other songs on Zep IV. Moreover, it's also the best example of stereotypical classic rock. Songs such as "Hotel California," which is far from The Eagles best work, or "Free Bird," which pales in comparison to "Simple Man" and "The Ballad of Curtis Lowe." If you wanted to do Zeppelin, you should've put down "Going to California" or "Kashmir." Also, with Pink Floyd, "Echoes," or "If," or something.

  • @thewriter1008 i wanted to write the bands biggest hits. Of course Kashmir is the song they are mostly proud of and honestly i think its better than Stairway to heaven , but Stairway is their biggest hits

  • @fenderguy97 Well, Pink Floyd's biggest hit isn't "Wish You Were Here" at all. Probably "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2" or "Money." Also, what I meant to do there was point out that there is no fake music, and that an artist's inclusion in the mainstream or their presence in current culture doesn't mean they're bad. I noticed "Poker Face." But I acknowledge Lady Gaga is actually a good singer, pianist and songwriter. All music is real, and no genre is inherently bad.

  • @thewriter1008 GO KISS JUSTIN BIEBERS ASS!

  • @fenderguy97 No thank you. I'd rather duct-tape his mouth shut and lock him in a record store, where maybe, just maybe, he can begin a reeducation that will make him regret his many horrid transgressions to the world of music.

It might interest you to know, however, that Queen is considering hiring Lady Gaga on as a lead singer. Yes, that Queen. Brian May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon, and the late, great Freddie Mercury Queen. So apparently they see something in her.

  • @fenderguy97 Found somewhat of a problem with that,Lady Gaga-Poker face. It's good but not great like the others are,but whatever everyone has there own type of taste. :)

  • @fenderguy97 lady gaga has no right even being on this list the rest are great though

  • @stodd32 Thats the joke dumbass.

  • goodbye /b/ros...

  • in my english class my teacher played the sound of silence and i am a rock because we were doing poems, but when she played it nobody knew who they were but me. They fucking laughed at me because I love their music and they thought it sounded gay. Idk what the fucking world is coming to.

  • @pillowsinmypants I hear you man, nobody respects the greats anymore. People need to broaden their musical horizon to experience some of the greatest songs ever written

  • I was introduced to this kind of music when I was just a little kid. Dad used to listen to this all the time while driving, and I grew up with artists like Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, Fabrizio De André just to mention some of them. I don't see why many people of my generation (I'm 20) keep saying these songs are old junk. Most guys I know do think this way. And that is sad, cause they don't know what they are missing, not listening to this.

  • This song is in Watchmen as well :)

  • i watched the movie The Graduate and this song was in it and i thought wow thats a sweet song
