@GuardianAngelFanga Eland means elk (according to dictionary) but on google translate it says eland is moose and elk. So I am guessing that eland comes from a word that means "big horned" or something similar. I am not Dutch, I just did a little bit of research :)

One cannot truly appreciate how Magnificent & Majestic these creatures are until one can see one up close... Periodically, one will charge through my property & of course, however, hunters & poachers have cut deeply into the local populations... It would truly be a tragedy if there were no more elk in these forests as it would no longer seem like a real forest without them...
Last week i had the good fortune to hear bull elks bugling in the Gila NF for the 1st time. They are truly amazing. Lovely video. I come back to it again and again.
I Loved it!!! I am a Native American from South Dakota and the Elk is a very respected animal amongst our tribe and culture. You did an awesome job with this video. I actually came to tears because it reminded me of Loving my life and my mother for giving me life,... Please make more vids and maybe some of the Buffalo. It is my spirit animal. Pilyamya Yelo...
I am from The Netherlands, elks doesn't live here. But their cousins, the Red Deer, do. They are somewhat smaller then elks. Nevertheless, the males are also very impressive, especially during the rut, and their bugling is darker, more 'roaring'. But I love watching the elks and hearing their very special call.
Esna, elk are very beautiful. I have never seen one but we have them in Kentucky. I like wolves (we do not have them in Ky.) but I do not like the fact that these beautiful animals have to be food for anything or anyone. I hope to see an elk in the wild. I hope the Yellowstone elk recover. I love all wildlife.
i have never seen an elk but next month 4 of us are going to benezette in PA i hope we see some.Your video and and enya was very good.Just one more of GODS work, thanks
Very lovely and very poignant, the soothing music tells of your love of the animal, even though I don't understand a word....very, very lovely shots. :)
I have to admit, it is a LITTLE boring.. the music puts me to sleep, although it is fitting.. I think perhaps some video clips instead of just pictures would have been better.

Hey, it's OK to appreciate the beauty of an elk. If folks don't want to hunt them, and merely follow and discreetly film them, then I am all for it. I don't mind a hunter who respects the animal and puts some "work" into their hunt either. I enjoy both. I have seen far more elk than I have harvested, I should start to film them as well. It's fun to call in an elk even when you do not intend to take it. It's all nature and nature is good.

Beautiful, did you actually take these photos & video? If so where do you go? I just recently got into video taping them, hearing them call in the wild was one of must do-s in life, like seeing orcas in the wild, the aurora borealis, learing languages and so on. Thanks
Absolutely beautiful. Why should it be the last? I am happy to see the work of someone who appreciates the beauty of large browsers like deer and elk. So many miss it. You have shown people something they`need to see:) Praise God for His awesome work!
Your video is fabulous and Enya's music really suits it, like you i am fascinated with elk and deer, have you ever seen paintings by E. Landseer, he painted deer, "The Braemoor Gathering" and "Monarch of the Glen" are Fabulous paintings by him. Keep posting the videos, they're brilliant!
cool but i wanna hunt them cuz i hunt but they are really cool and majestic, and they taste good and look good ha but i prolly wont hunt any cuz it takes forever to get a tag because you have to win a raffle which i never do so ya
Absolutely love the video. Am building a log cabins in the mountain with lots of deer and elk. I would absolutely love a copy of this, if that's doable. Debbie
i live on vancouver island b.c and we have the biggest elks in north america. i am now living in a small town where you have to go to the post office still to get mail......there was a sighting of a herd of maybe 30 elks the other day...i wish i could have seen it. many people have said they have seen them in my town cowichan b.c
