  • Kinda remind me of the time when I learned how to snap somebody's neck at the dojo.

  • Really needed this kind of helpful video content... Thanks a lot

  • there is no research behind Chiropractic? research has been published in medical journals how Chiropractic is great for neck and low back pain! There are great evidence based Chiropractors working in hospitals taking care of patients with neck and back pain....Why? because MD's have no clue on what to do with these patients. Oh and by the way about 20 pill mills have been shut down in South Florida alone due to these irresponsible doctors, 7 people die a day from pain pills!

  • wiggle wiggle wiggle

  • this guy is really sketchy

  • 0:03 what a ghetto look.. Actually, nerd and dark skin arent together..... But, that "psychatric" have break the standing for centuries rule, hahaa, btw , im bbblacko

  • I think he's about to puke at :59

  • wow a black guy selling a different kind of crack

  • @lifeson46 XD

  • where'd this girl come from! wasnt aware i was watching The Hills

  • High cervical chiropractic intervention is the most humane way to kill someone, I believe the order of chiropractic suicyde assistants should be established and named after Dr Kevorkian.

  • Chiropractic deemed "the most overrated profession" by the US News and World report in 2007.

  • @lald6103 yeah, between all the drug adverts. sucker.

  • @lald6103 what an obvious lie, when it's the dope pushing medical establishment that has the non-stop media propaganda going for it.

  • @hiodr

    Look it up!

  • If someone wanna be killed, just go to the chiropractic high cervical manipulation - the result will be swift.

  • @bobthe345 If that were true, chiropractors would have the highest malpractice insurance premiums of any doctor. As it is, we have the lowest? Want to know why? Because we don't kill people. The insurance & legal people keep tabs on who gets injured and by whom. The data is clear: chiropractic is the safest form of healthcare on the planet. There is nothing safer. Consequently, allopathic medicine kills 250,000 every year (in the U.S. alone).

  • @ksmithdc

Typical chiro tactic - try to spread fear about main stream medicine. Give me evidence supporting your "kills 250,000 per year" statement.

Chiropractic is safe - I don't deny that. It's just not effective. This is why your insurance premiums are so low.

  • @lald6103 The 250,000 per year statistic came from Journal of the American Medical Association July 2000 in an article written by Barbara Starfield, M.D., M.P.H. (professor at Johns Hopkins). And regarding our insurance premiums - our rates aren't based on efficacy - only safety. Lots of people here are trying to sell the public that chiropractic isn't safe. They're uninformed.

  • @ksmithdc

Yes, like I said, chiro is safe. Just ineffective.

Over 1/3 of the 250,000 "deaths by medicine" (80,000) are apparently caused by "infections in hospitals". It's useless to consider the cons of medicine without the pros - ever thought that if these people weren't hospitalized in the first place, they would have died much earlier? This stat also doesn't bother go into the characteristics of those who died: the old, the young and the immunocompromised.

  • @lald6103 You can claim it's ineffective a million more times. That's not going to change the truth of the matter. I don't know who you are. I don't know what your background is. But it's apparent that you've got your mind made up and are unwilling to objectively look at the data. Good luck with your journey.

  • @ksmithdc

Here's some great reading for you to show that I have good reason to have my mind made up until some good evidence about chiropractic's efficacy surfaces:

    Ernst, E (2008). Chiropractic: a critical evaluation. J Pain Symptom Management. 36(3). pp.544-562

  • lmao,

  • austin is full of suckers.

  • why did you say that ?

do you live in Austin ?? ^^ lol

  • aprendia como chuparla para atras

  • @ roquefortfiles, I understand your view and agree that a lot of chiropractors continue to treat with the same high velocity adjustment "passive care" as the end all be all treatment, the fault lies not in 5 treatments, but the lack of "active care" ...exercises, stretches..putting the care back into the hands of the person ultimately responsible. You should know if your are getting benefit in 4-6 treatments and if ur not the doctor or you needs to change direction of treatment.

  • lol@the facial expression at .034 - 0.35 ... sure you didnt have any other thoughts on your mind Mr. Chiropractor??

  • What Hawaiian vacation ? On what little medicare actually pays a chiropractor- it won't pay for dinner at pizza hut, even if he/she billed for 100 visits.

Get real- year and years of wear and tear on the spine and central nervous system IS NOT going to go away over night.

Just like someone that is 100lbs overweight- that 100lbs did not just show up 1 morning- it isn't going to disappear over night either.

Chiropractic care takes time and commitment to restoring ones HEALTH.

  • Great post. The problem here is that the other poster is so tuned into the medical model of "disease care" he/she doesn't seem to understand what true health is all about. Health is about optimal physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or informity (according to Dorland's Medical Dictionary). Health is about wellness - NOT managing symptoms through chemicals. Health does NOT come from a bottle of pills!

  • Health does not come from pills but many times drugs help people to live a normal life, chiropractic is not a panacea either.

  • This guy doesn't seem genuine to me. How can it be helpful to extend your neck further and further back like that? I'm not in the medical profession but my common sense tells me that could easily do more harm than good.

  • A disc is mostly made out of water. It behaves like a water balloon. When you compress the disc toward the posterior (back) part, the middle part of the disc moves away from the spinal cord (thus reducing pressure on the cord and spinal nerve roots). Extension is EXACTLY the right thing to do.

  • is there any adjustment that would take care of that zit on her cheek ?

  • im open minded and i believe in chiropractors but this guys a QUACK

  • he is presenting a evaluation and treatment method commonly used by physical therapists, do you "believe" in physical therapy or are they QUACKS too?

  • Call him a quack all you want. But when you suffer massive spinal pain, you'll pray to God that this guy or somebody like him is available to help. By the way, the scientific literature clearly shows chiropractic to be superior to drugs AND surgery for these types of problems. Please obtain a clue, sir.

  • "By the way, the scientific literature clearly shows chiropractic to be superior to drugs AND surgery for these types of problems."

    Cite your sources please.

BTW, go back and listen to the guy in the video again. Hes a quack, even on a Chiropractors standards.

    Shall I go on?

  • Hahaha!

Are you trying to troll me?

  • Troll you? No. I made a claim. You asked me to cite my sources. I obliged your request by submitting three references from the peer reviewed literature.

Condemnation without adequate investigation is a very unattractive trait and I challenge you to become more informed.

  • @ksmithdc He knows what he is doing. Reverse pressure and/or decompression of the disks helps with herniated disks, by reversing the process. Also sometimes and can improve posture.

  • @ksmithdc YES! I like the vid that Dr. Echols says something like, 'suppose you had a peble in your shoe and it was causing you some foot, back, and shoulder pain while walking...you can either go to this one guy and get a drug to take away the pain, or you can go to this other guy (a chiropractor) and he'll take the pebble out of your shoe and do an adjustment on your foot.' Which would you do? Keep the peble nd take the drug or remove the peble and let someone rub your foot?

  • @ksmithdc actually, it does not.

  • @usfdude Over 50 random controlled double blind studies say differently. That's why research exists. It's there to find the truth. You can think anything you want. But when your opinion runs 180 degrees from what the scientific literature says, perhaps it's time for you to put away your negative anti-chiropractic bias.

  • @ksmithdc I agree Sir.

  • @ksmithdc no, lol, no it doesn't.

  • Carlton became a chiropractor

  • Of course it's called Quack medicine. Can you imagine, out patient procedures? Instant relief? Non invasive? And worst of all, without making a single buck off the trillion ton circle jerk of doctors, drug companies and health insurance?

    I mean really.

    The /nerve/.

  • Looks like the guy is trying to be as careful as possible but no doubt risky.Ones reaction when in that awkward position is to flex or tense up the neck muscles in which can cause a combination of risk from both parties involved resulting in a mistake or bad ajustment.I think that when the patient is at a sitting position the risk is less as it allows the patient with ease to relax and the head feels more of a pipit state.

  • I get my cervical spine adjusted once a week. I have never been "hurt" and I am still alive! Cheers you freakin' knoob.

  • I had severe headaches about 10 years ago. My MD kept me on painkillers and muscle relaxers, until i tried Chiropractic. One visit and my headaches were gone. Some physicians are under the thumb of drug companies, which makes them licensed pushers. I'll taker a bone cruncher any day.

  • you're going to find crooks in any profession, especially law enforcement and the legal profession...the medical profession has a lot fewer of them, but they are there.

  • Chiropractics is the easy way to get rid of "nasty mother-in-law" just suggest chiro-treatment for the high cervical spine. It is a great chance she will never bother your family again. Peace.

  • Haha, amazing.

  • Amazed by what? A lot of people got badly hurt by Chiropractors. So, recommend all your enemies to visit one. Cheers.

  • bobthe....You are really ignorant. The chances of getting hurt durring a Chiropractic adjustment is 1 / 5,500,000. You stand a better chance of getting hit by a meteor than getting hurt by a Chiropractor. The next time you take an NSAID, remember that NSAIDs kill 16,500 people per year in the US.

  • I agree 100%.. More people become worse or even die from medical "care", yet there is not one case of a chiropractor killing anyone.

  • yes, there is...do some research

  • yeah when retarded people take way too fucking many of them...NSAIDs at therapeutic doses are safe...don't try to spin the statistics to make your "profession" look more legitimate.

  • Site one source. A peer-reviewed source. Not hearsay, cable news, pub bathroom stall scribble-reputable, peer-reviewed source.

  • Due to the doubtful professional status of Chiropractors, I think it is not suitable for me to discuss the degree of harm they bring to the society.

  • There is nothing doubtful about the professional status of chiropractors. Chiropractors have physician status in all 50 states, are a part of practically every insurance plan, has been accepted by Medicare, the Department of Defense and mainstream medicine. Well over 50% of my new patients come from referrals from MEDICAL PHYSICIANS. They understand the value of what we do. Perhaps someday you will too.

  • Maybe. And i agree that they do help. I have benefited myself. The problem i have with many of them, not all. Is that many of them have too much of a tendency to abuse medicare. Insisting on numerous return visits. It is shamelessly padding their bottom line and THEY KNOW IT. I refuse to participate in that kind of crap. Fix my problem yes. But i aint giving the guy a Hawaiian vacation on unneeded billing. Any chiros out there disagree?

  • If you are concerned about Medicare fraud, you shouldn't be looking at chiropractors. You should be looking at medical equipment & supply, hospitals, physical therapy clinics and the pharmaceutical industry. If you took a look at how much money was being spent on Medicare, and then you looked at how much chiropractic care contributed to this, you'd feel really silly about your previous statements.

  • By the way, chiropractic was introduced into the Medicare system in 1972. They allowed us to bill for spinal manipulations (and that's it). They wouldn't pay for extremity adjustments, examinations, x-rays, laboratory testing, physical therapy modalities or rehab. That was 37 years ago, and it hasn't changed since. We STILL aren't getting paid for 80% of the services we provide. So please excuse me if I tell you you're way off base in targeting chiropractic for abusing medicare.

  • I live in Canada. Different system. And no I am not way off base they do it all the time here. It is ridiculously easy to over charge for stuff like this here

  • If you don't mind me asking - how do you know all of this to be true? Are you an auditor for your government? Are you in the medical field in any capacity, and if so what do you do?

  • How do i know this to be true???!!!. Because i have gone to a number of chiropractors and i am able to tell the difference between one who deals with my problem and one who says..."Ok I am going to schedule 5 visits for you..just so we can monitor and stay on top of this" That is abusing the system and they damned well know it.

  • Chiropractic is very much like orthodontia. If an orthodontist told you it was going to take 3 years to straighten your kids teeth, would you have the same cheap skepticism? Probably not. But if a chiropractor wants to straighten your spine - and try to get it handled in 5 visits, that's fraud? Also, chiropractic follows the same laws of exercise physiology. It takes time to change the muscles & ligaments in the spine. That's why you can't get adjusted once and that's it.

  • When an M.D. puts you on blood pressure pills, you're on the pills pretty much for the rest of your life. Is he "abusing the system" for keeping you on pills - indefinitely? When a neurologist puts you on parkinson's medication, it's done pretty much forever. Same thing with SSRI's. I always find it funny at how chiropractors are held to an impossibly high standard - which isn't applied to medical doctors.

  • Oh come on that is a ridiculous analogy. Chiropractic is like booting your fender in place. It is not a "Curative" treatment otherwise people who got treated would never need to come back again. I am not saying repeat visits are never warranted i am just saying many Chiros i have seen are "too quick" to jump on the "why don't you come back again next week.. and next week and 3 more times after that too.. band wagon. When all i felt was a little misalignment.

  • There is a wide application of chiropractic care. Certain approaches can restore the normal curves to the spine (which can get distorted after a trauma). Chiropractic can reduce or eliminate disc herniations (as evident with post MRI scans). Chiropractic is also used by athletes (from amateur to Olympians) to help them bounce back after injuries. It's used to improve the function of the nervous system which has infinite health benefits.

  • Chiropractic can help with asthma, allergies, bed wetting with children, menstrual discomfort, high blood pressure (check out the most recent study out of the University of Chicago), digestion problems, bowel & bladder problems... All kinds of issues. It's nice that we don't HAVE to rely on toxic drugs or risky invasive surgery.

  • You can be on blood pressure meds until you can get your BP down to a normal level. Most people do not do the needed things to get off their meds so they stay on them. The issue is that high BP is damaging and when someone does not exercise/lose weight/modify diet than they need to be on the drugs. What do you do for the patient with a BP of 166/100 when they are non compliant with lifestyle mods? THEY NEED TO BE ON THE DRUGS! Its a matter of life and death.

  • @BrettWeir007 Non-compliance is a technical term for contemporary Darwinism.

  • @BrettWeir007 , why bother? just let natural selection wipe them out

  • @ksmithdc

Let's talk about "standards". Chiropractors, like MDs, are (should be) held to the standard which requires them to provide evidence supporting the efficacy of their modality for the conditions it purports to treat. With the possible exception of back pain, no such evidence exists.

  • @lald6103 I'm the author of the book "Modern Chiropractic: The Way To A Pain-Free Lifestyle". In my book I have 25 PAGES of research citations, 100% of which were published in peer reviewed index medicus journals. They cite chiropractic's safety and efficacy for much more than back pain. Condemnation without adequate investigation is a very unattractive trait and I challenge you to become more informed.

  • @ksmithdc

I'd love to read that book. I've read a few books written by chiros and many papers from chiro journals and they've all been quite laughable. Care to share some of the main references you cite?

  • Hey doc, if you're in Cape May NJ area let me know; stop by my facility; suggestion, check out Mulligan stuff to; you'll love it. You probably already know of it...

  • The Results of the application of the "harmless" chiropractics: 3,254 people killed, 235,558 injured and over $455,070,000 in economic damages!

  • How many people died in hospital from infections annually ? How many people die from medication mistakes ? How many people die from surgical mistakes like leaving sutures inside patients ? A lot, lot more ! Don't throw stones in a glass house, my friend.

  • I am not talking about allopathic medicine. Being health care professional my self I had numerous opportunities to observe even famous chiropractors. I consider it as an interesting experience. You are dangerous.

  • You're full of it bobthe....give it up, no one believes you.

  • Yep, chiro-practic is the great scientific method to put someone's health under the condition of the great risk. This "profession" was founded by two fishmongers unable to go through simplified course of osteopatic education. Great "reshpect" to fish-mongering.

  • I totally agree. These scam artists spend a few weeks at the chiropractic academy learning how to crack people, and majority of the time learning how to scam insurance companies for their wacky treatments. These funky neck-twisting moves can also cause a stroke. I'll take my chances with NSAIDS and real physicians before I let a quack crack me. Chiropractic crack = quack. The best cure for neck and back pain is to maintain a healthy weight and exercise.

  • Shellibai! The three foundations of healthy life are: natural and balanced food, natural and active physical exercises, and emotional balance. If one will be able to build his/her life on those three foundations, doctors will not become the part of one's life.

  • I'm married to a physician, and he says the same thing as you, more or less, that is, all things in moderation, healthy weight, regular exercise, emotional health, reduce stress, and routine care from a physician, i.e. mamogram, prostate etc. By the way, is that a Tsahal uniform on your page? My husband wore one too.

  • I apologize for your being HIGHLY uninformed, but chiropractic college is a 5-year post-baccalaureate program. Just because someone has a driver's license doesn't mean that they're an amazing driver! GOOD chirpractors are VERY well informed in all aspects of kinesiology and anatomy and physiology. A physician knows about communicable diseases, (maybe) pathology, and pharmacology. No way in hell he'll be able to realign a spine that can be x-rayed and SHOWN to be out of alignment. Chiro's win!

  • A few weeks? I won't even bother arguing. When arguing with a fool, people from a distance can't tell who is who.

  • You're right. What are you doing on YouTube when you could be scamming insurance companies for wacky treatments?

  • @bobthe345

and just what major drug company do you represent? Obviously one that has the potential to be robbed of millions of dollars in the event more people figure out that chiroptractory is a real and cost-effective solution to physical pain as opposed to pumping people full of expensive drugs that do absolutely nothing!

  • @bobthe345 Basically, you are full of crap and are speaking only from your own prejudice.

  • you think a chiropractor can cure an infection? Some infections cannot be cured because patients have let them get out of hand or they have one that is resistant to treatment. And leaving sutures inside patients is done on purpose, they're called dissolvable sutures and they are necessary. And if you're going to talk about ppl dying from drugs next, it is not from a medical mistake but from patients mixing the wrong types together.

  • How can patients mix the wrong types together if the the proper measures were taken to 1) properly prescribe the medications and take the measures to insure not harming a patient by over/wrongly medicating and 2) properly educate the patient as to when to take the prescribed medication?

  • I will admit that there are some drugs out there that just aren't safe because the animal research pseudo science has shown them to be safe. A great example is Merck's Vioxx. But accidental overdoses and interactions do happen that also contribute to patient deaths from prescription drugs.

  • I don't know if 3,254 people have died (where did that figure come from?), but I do agree with you that chiropractic can be quite dangerous. And, should probably be outlawed.

  • Outlawed? Dangerous? You guys are funny... Such strong words and surely minimal knowledge of the facts. Chiropractic is well established as one of the safest health care interventions available.

  • too bad its efficacy for anything major is virtually non-existent.

  • true, but it's addition to the evaluation and possibility of relieving pain for a subset of mechanical low back pain patients shouldn't be overlooked - and as you point out the alternative for pain relief runs a higher risk.

  • My comment was regarding omicronsetis text furter down the page

  • How can anybody with a medical degree help anybody with neck pain.

    Sincerly, a patient

  • depends on the source of the neck pain.

  • pretty hot bitch

  • I get very good results in my office when I combine a Physical Therapy Technique with my chiropractic adjustment to better stablize the spine. The chiropractic adjustments alone have reduced the symptomes within a short amount of time, most of the times right after the adjustments. traction of the spine wheather in flexion or extension (based on the patients presentation) would help hydrationg the disc as well.

  • That's great, but why do you use the term 'adjustment?' If you studied McKenzie, you know this term is a misnomer.

  • That guy is awesome. He gets to touch sexy women all day!

  • kobido- McKenzie techniques have been used extensively for some time now w/ scientific support. As to the debate on extension- welcome McKenzie vs. Williams flexion methodology. Symptom resolution or aggravation during a McKenzie maneuver is the key. If radicular symptoms are aggravated the technique is not wise in choice and vice versa. Same holds true in manual/mechanical traction. Axillary vs. shoulder lesions can dictate effectiveness of any given technique. Not any single technique is 100%.

  • This does not use x rays or scientific, instrumentation. I would not trust this technique.

Neck should be stable and in a neutral position atlas should only move in an adjustment

  • It's also important to note that the central pain (back/neck) may become slightly worse than it was before end range loading began. As long as the peripheral pain is resolving (centralization), the movement is encouraged as this pain is usually short lived. Just be sure to inform the patient of this possibility before beginning :)

  • As a chiropractor that has been trained in many techniques including McKenzie, I recommend that my colleagues break through the chiro dogma and seek any education that will allow you to better serve your patients (that's what it's all about right?). Read the research and you will find that the analysis procedure is the most reliable method to date for determining directional preference when developing home care strategies. McKenzie plus chiro is a great combo. Look up Gary Jacob DC for more info

  • Respect. Well done Steve. It's good to see a chiropractor following a scientifically-based, safe form of treatment for once. And yes, McKenzie was/is a New Zealand physical therapist/ physiotherapist.

  • as to the posterior bulge-extension dilemma, the technique begins with traction to invoke a vacuum effect (preferably at the specific level of disc involvement)and extension is performed in a painfree range. certainly pain indicates that the disc material has not been cleared and the practioner is simply pinching it between the facets/vertebral bodies.

  • yes this is a physical therapy technique and an effective one if indicated based on patient signs and symptoms.

  • Since most disc protrusions are posterior or posterior and lateral, how can EXTENTION manouvers help? Doesn't extention close the facet joints? Wouldn't extention bring the posterior aspects of the vertebral bodies together and thereby put MORE pressure on a disc bulge? Even with a mile superiorward traction, extention is extention and I do not see how that can decompress a disc. And as for it being PT that is crap. Every D.C. needs some form of disc decompression in their tool kit.

  • soft spoken guy

  • Gonsteadlovee is correct. This McKenzie technique is Physical Therapy not Chiropractic. Google and read about the history and development.

  • I love chiropractic because they massage so good

  • I went to a physical therapist for neck pain after a chiropractor hurt my neck. That was one of my treatments from a physical therapist. I don't recommend seeing a chiropractor for neck pain. They really can hurt you. I had the experience.

  • Moron.

  • oh IC. Well, I think it's always better to come to chiropractic to get good massage. Don't go to them when you're hurt cause they are not like the other doctor. Any high school student can apply and become a chiropractic. So, to have to be careful and make sure not to hurt yourself when you go to see chiropractor.
