This is my most beloved opera . I think this performance is the best of all recordings; not only the singing but also the scene. I was deeply moved by hearing and seeing it. It is a pitty that nobody seems to know exactly who performed it and on which Cd or DVD it came out.

Thank You for the answer. I already thought that . But do You know what orkestra played the opera, which conductor, other solists and which choir? It is a pitty that not the whole opera, I mean this particular performance, is on YouTube. It is so wonderfull nice.

this was made for dutch TV in 1999 I think. I have the entire dvd, another student of her sent it to me.

Beautiful added ornamentation, most people do it comme scritto and I hate it in Baroque! Its even worse when a bel canto aria is sung as written without any ornamentation, I believe personal ornamentation plays a huge part in a soprano's interpretation.

OK, she's gorgeous but even ignoring the horrible quality of this clip, she doesn't begin to compare with Janet Baker on the video from Glyndebourne, 1966. Just see JB's incredible voice control and accuracy. The Best!

Hallo everyone. Indeed, this great singer is Xenia Meijer. If you want to see a better quality of two of her arias, just write her name on youtube and u will see them. About the dvd..There is not one on the market, but I got a quite good one copy of the complete opera.
