@robbynood I can think of loads. This film looks terrific and I'm a fan of most of Cook's work, but this film sags after a while as it gets repetitive and much of Cook's script is too cerebral and verbal only to work as a big screen comedy ; you need different mixes of comedy for a long film

It's not a Scottish accent, it's a (Southern) Welsh accent. The reason is a lot of the film is made up by 'in' jokes about people they (Moore, Cook and the rest of the TW3 team) knew at (the University of) Cambridge.

Here Dudley Moore is pretending to be a well-known pretentious Cambridge professor of Welsh origin.
