I saw this video one time on MTV right when it came out, then got the tape and listened to it 1000000000000000000 times. So glad to finally see it again. It exceeds all expectations! Thanks.
No other video's were made from that album . It was MCA that totally dropped the ball . By the way, that's the voice of Clint Eastwood saying "Clusterfuck" from the movie "Heartbreak Ridge" Thanks for watching 'Dude' fans! GMD
@GMD825 MCA dropped the ball on a lot of bands but there's no way this was going to sell no matter what label it was on. This guy should've tried to hook up with a band instead of just trying to be guitar star, the guitar star was a very limited audience, Yngwie pretty much owned the genre
I like his version better than the original. I recently got "Mannic Distortion" from Sweden. He sings like Dave Mustaine (early yrs. of Megadeth) and King Diamond combined. Kinda cool!
this is pretty old. I have this album as in 12 inch vinyl. He is a great guitar player. This is from the late 80's. I believe they put out two albums, I don't know where they are now.I bet I can probably find that mannic distortion c.d still. I know a dude that owns a record store and if it is available anywhere he can get it. he has been in the business 26 or 27 years and knowes his shit.I have sleight of hand on vinyl in mint condition.
Let me say, you did a KILLER job on this vid. I am in awe and very suprised to see there was a vid!!! I got this album way back and loved it. I wondered if I could find it here on youtube and was amazed there was a vid. Way to go!!!!!
By the way, yes he was in Michael Angelo's Band before Nitro, also in the "Dude's Of Wrath" from the "Shocker" movie soundtrack. Michael Angelo by the way is an out-of-this- world inspirational musical giant that rules. I've met him and he is one of my heroes.
Yes this if from "Sleight Of Hand". I don't agree with 1 other commenter about his 2nd album not being as good. His 2nd album is not instrumental for 1 thing, and I believe that "Mannic Distortion" is a vocal metal-thrash masterpiece along the lines of any metal voacl album of its' time in 1991. Great singing introduced by the Mann along with the patented unique shredding. Buy Mannic Distortion" if you can find it, an epic masterpiece. Guy Mann-Dude is soo fun, how can you go wrong?
Well he and several notable guests did the theme song for the Wes Craven movie, Shocker. It was under the name The Dudes of Wrath. Pretty cool song although it's less quirky than this (I think Desmond Child was involved in the writing).
songs on it are On the Verge, riff rock n rebel, shreedd'n it down,Paint it black,The clincher, slight of hand, pedal to the metal, clusterphuck, the stalker, legend of lockness, still here you cry, slight of mind.
good album, I don't care for the stones much but this is an awsome cover.
There's punk attitude to his playing that I like. I have this album. To those busting him for his chops, he was a drummer and picked up the guitar. He hadnt been playing that long when he recorded this.
This is the great guitar sound and only for those who live now. I got it CD and i never will let it go to the Death zone. It'll die with me. I said so..... Rock me Dude...
I have Mannic Distortion, and it wasn't as good as Sleight of Hand. However, there's no way I will ever let go of either of these CDs because GMD was awesome.
This guy truly sucks. I hardly ever say that too. His riffing is bad, his arrangement of this classic song is terrible, his chops are sub-par to the instrumental guitar rock of the era. The only "good" thing about him is his name, lol. I'd say he's got a good sense of humor based on that alone. Still, thanks for posting. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents.
Whoever posted this video. Thanks a billion, you must be a guitar player yourself from that period just like me. Guy Mann Dude's music, is all out of print. I can't even find his C.D.s on Amazon or any others importers websites. Thank's agian for posting this. At least it's better than nothing.
I remember a friend's older brother used to have one of his cd's. Fuckin crazy guitarist. Other than that one cd, the only thing I'd ever seen of this guy was his columns in Guitar School or Guitar Player or some other guitar magazine.

He had only been playing for a couple of years. He was originally a drummer that played in a band with Steve Vai that never made it to fruition.
Anyway, listen to the whole album. Its about ATTITUDE more than anything!
