  • Change the title ffs. Xd

  • @MurdocLC i just saw your email...i changed it...but do you have a better suggestion for a title? i'm all open! thanks for watching!

  • @channel131guy Email? When did I send you an email? And I don't remember what your title were.

  • Hello channel131guy !

Thank you many fine trip video. I like to watch videos in which foreign people trip Japan. Because they tell me interesting scene of Japan. I'm interested in foreign people who visit Japan like sushi, kimono.Mt Fuji and so on evev in these days. Recently there are many interesting things in Japan. Why do they like them?Which country do you like best? Thank you.

  • Matt smiles like Tom Cruise.

  • Loved them both. Hong kong has the most beautiful skyline I have ever seen but Tokyo is the most technologically advanced place on earth I would say I prefer japan.

  • hey what did you like more japan or hongkong ?

  • Lol "that was a real Japanese sneeze right there."

  • glad i made you laugh!

  • very good vid! I've always wanted to go to japan. but atlas I cant afford it right now. :( do you know of any websites or best ways to go to japan like any good deals?

  • thank you!! i would suggest you check out package deals...maybe start with websites like expedia and oribitz, or do a google search of group tours to japan. if you are a student, maybe student rates will apply. its DEFINITELY worth seeing. japan is one-of-a-kind!

also check out sushi for breakfast video..its pretty cool too.

  • wow this video got alot of view, i remember when it was at least hundreds, now thousands!

  • crazy, right?!

  • @channel131guy With a title just named "Japan" it's a bit unspecific.

  • WOW Tokyo... the capital of Technology!

  • oooo....love body

  • daisuki videos desu yo.

ALso wondering how did you get to owakudani?

i went on a tour to mt fuji wondering if you took a tour or had help getting there?

    yoroshiku arigatou.

  • that's so funny..yeah, my friend looks like tom cruise...at one point while we were in owakudani, we pretended he was tom cruise...and people were taking pictures...very funny.

we got there with our friend who lives in japan..but there were many tour groups there too. thanks for chekcking out my videos!

  • Hey whats tom cruise doing there he must of got export from american when jumping on oprahs furniture

  • wow, that was amazing! thanks for uplaoding an continue to keep downloading!!!! "that was a real japanese sneze right there!!!" lol

  • its so nice to hear that you liked it!! and that you watched the whole thing. i saved the japanese sneeze for last!

check out my other videos too...like sushi for breakfast. i think you'll enjoy them!

  • Awesome video makes my wants to go even worse :( someday... I would like to find a package of sorts and have a guide like you did. I would love to see a sumo match, goto Osaka and Tokyo . Thanks again great footage

  • thanks escapefrmla. (los angeles right?) that means a lot that you enjoyed the video. my goals is to get people interested in different places and see the world. i'm glad i gave you a taste!

  • good. im japanese but i could enjoy this.

  • fantastic! i'm glad you liked it!

  • owakudani? is this around Mt. Fuji?

  • in the general area...between hakone and mt. fuji...maybe a 45-minute or so drive away if i'm not mistaken

  • lol, a real japanese sneeze!

  • :-)

  • omg your so lucky...did u see any graphic card ?and like new portable game system

  • When your video was seen, it became very happy feelings.

I want also to acquire the language study, and to travel to the United States.

Thank you for coming to Japan.

  • thank you so much! i'm glad you enjoyed the videos. i had a fantastic time in japan!!

  • Cool video. Love the sumo wrestling bit.

BTW -Mt. Fuji isn't the most perfectly cone shaped volcano. Mt. Mayon in the Philippines is.

Just getting ur geography right! :P

  • glad you liked it!

thanks for your corrections on mt. fuji. i hope one day to get to the philippines and see mt mayon for myself.

  • itinerary?

  • are you asking me the itin for our trip there?

  • ur videos great add more if u go dere again. But im jealous u people so lucky going to japan but I have to wait and need $4000 spend on clothes, technology etc

  • i thought sulfur was poisonous!?

  • maybe...but apparently not when you use it to hard-boil your eggs. lol

  • loved it! by the way did u picked up japanese girl lol. I need alot of cash to spend there cant wait

  • hahah...no...but my friend did. you will have a ncie time there. just go with an open mind. there is so much to see in japan -- let alone the world... so many great experiences to take in...always have an open mind and you will get so much out of your trips.

  • nice video. I cant wait myself go there and I guess need at at $3000 Aus for shopping

  • is it humid there oh hope not

  • i'm not sure what the summer weather is like in japan..i assume its a lot like california, so probably not too humid...unlike southeast asia which is hot and brutal in the summer

  • Hi, im going to japan in a while and i need to know

isnt it hard going there because you dont know japanese

    please respondd

  • no...these days i find that basically anywhere on the planet, you can always find SOMEONE who speaks english. obviously more in the bigger cities than the smaller towns. but the bottom line is a lot of stuff is written in english and japanese, you can always point to things-- there are ways to communicate. "toilet" seems to be universal. i would just learn how to say hello and thank you...in japanese. kah-knee-she-wah (hello) are-ah-got-oh gah-zI-mus (thank you very much)

  • Oh thanks,

and how hard is it to find someone that does speak english?

  • Thanks for the great vid! I learned a lot about Japan!

  • u got it!! i'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • you mean 6-9,000 yen, right? Methinks its a bit more than that.

  • oops..yeah..6-9000 yen...roughly 6-900 usd

  • The "small PC" shown was in fact, a mobile phone device for sale in Japan. Its sold by a USA company (forgot the name) but the UNamazing thing about it is that it only works in the Tokyo area. Thats the only area you can use it, I think. Oh and its expensive. Mind you most Japanese technology these days is behind the times and too expensive. You are better off going to hong kong.

  • ahhh...thanks for that info. yeah, i think when i almost dropped it, it was like 600 or 900 yen. but at the time--and that was about a year ago-- i thought it was pretty darn cool.

  • I ate those eggs there, but when I took my parents to see fuji, it was hidden in the mists. The best time to see fuji is in winter. I had to buy six eggs as you cant buy individual ones. I was very warm in the bed the next morning!

  • ive always wanted to go but im wondering, is it expensive? and hows the flight? was the time change hard for you?

sorry about all the questions but i do really wanna go and any tips you can give would be great.

  • in my opinion, japan is pretty comparable to new york prices. a bottle of water will run you about 1.30 cents...a good meal of sushi will run you about 35-45 dollars. the time change has been more tough than i thought. i've been up during the night, asleep during the day. but all in all, a minor price to pay for a fantastic adventure.

  • thank you so much for the information. i cant wait for more videos.

  • that was a real Japaneses sneeze xD

  • if u guys go again..try to make ur vids longer xD..also hope u dont get lost lol

  • so do you guys like know the full Japaneses language? or just the basic things.

  • so how was it there, I might look into going there for summer vacation. (possibly hokkaido).

  • i know 2 words in japanese: hello and thank you.

we didn't get up to hokkaido...but i hear good things about it...especially if you like to ski. its in the north of japan. i did love japan. i wasn't sure of what to expect but it was just a really cool place...so different than anywhere i've been.

  • great video blog. How long did you guys stay for? I am really excited to go to Tokyo again after watching this video!

  • that makes me feel great to know that. we were in tokyo for 2 or 3 days, and then we went down south to check out mt. fuji, owakadoni (sp), kyoto and osaka. but truthfully, only in kyoto for 4 hours -- just long enough to go to the golden pavillion...and in osaka just to see the sumo wrestling.

the highlight of the trip for me was tsukiji fish market and eating sushi for breakfast. check out that video...you'll see what i mean.

  • Anyway, if you do decide to go to Sapporo let me know and if you want I'll have some friends show you around:) If you come to Tokyo, I can bring you to a soup curry restaurant called Magic Spice, which is the best place to eat of all time!

  • thank you for all those great suggestions. if i'm in tokyo, how long is the train ride to sapporo? also, magic spice...do you know what area its in? and what should i order there?

    i appreciate it!

  • Magic Spice is near the train stop called 'Shimo kitazawa' which is on the Odakyu line leaving from Shinjuku station. Sapporo is an hour 1/2 by plane, so maybe 12 or 13 hours by train? There's no bullet train service yet:( I have some videos of both places which I'll post. By the way, I'm going to Hong Kong next weekend and your video was really helpful!

  • thanks for the tips. i do appreciate it. i'm glad you enjoyed the hong kong video...its an amazing city. here's a tip i didn't include in the piece: make sure you take the airport train into the city. its clean, its fast, its cheap, and it is right at the airport. much easier than a cab.

  • That's funny you mention it because I was just looking at ways to get to downtown. Thanks for the tip; I'll definitely use that train!

  • this is so awesome i wanna visit japan too but dosent it cost like 3000 bucks for a trip?

  • japan is expensive, but didn't cost me as much as i thought it would. it all depends on where you eat, where you stay, etc. i'm confident you can do it for much less than 3,000. that being said, its worth waiting up for.

  • This is so lame! Tokyo has the WORST sushi in Japan. You don't even know until you've lived in Hokkaido.

  • don't get me wrong. i wasn't trying to say that tokyo has the best sushi in the world. i was just saying that its the only place i've had sushi for breakfast. but hey-- i'm all up for visiting hokkaido and trying the sushi there! so what is the name of the place in hokkaido i must visit for suhsi and what should i order??

  • I'm so sorry if I implied anything negative about your videos or experience- I honestly had no such intention. I'm currently working in Tokyo and I think I was just missing Sapporo. Anyway, are you coming to Japan this spring?

  • There's a restaurant in Sapporo that has really good/unique sushi called Hana Maru which is often confused with the chain noodle shop also called Hana Maru. The Hana Maru Sushi place is kaiten sushi (conveyor belt sushi) and they have 3 things I love but are unavailable in Tokyo: mame fugu (like baby fugu?); chan chan yaki (slightly fired salmon with a miso-type sauce); and, imo dango (not sushi but like a potato/mochi desert). It's all super cheap as well.

  • Video was done brilliantly. After watching this video I felt in love for Japan :) It all looked so perfect in there. Thanks for the video.

  • i'm glad you liked it!!! that's fantastic...japan rocks!

  • Excellent video dude! : )

  • thanks for checking it out!! you might want to also search up "sushi for breakfast" its pretty good too.

  • Thanks, will do that ! Would love to play music there one day! Japan looks like a blast

  • How much are the tickets to watch the sumo wrestling? Thanks

  • i think our tickets cost us about 150 usd each...they have much cheaper ones and much more expensive ones (depending on where you sit.) i suggest you check it out; its quite an experience

  • I enjoyed the "real Japanese sneeze" although it sounded slightly Taiwanese to me. Eh, call me crazy....

  • lol....yeah, maybe you're right.

  • Hey I really enjoyed watching your vidio. Thanks for posting

  • thanks for watching. i appreciate it!

  • kool Video Guys one of the most informative videos i seen. how much was for the guide. and how long did you stay there

  • thanks a lot... we had fun putting it together and exploring japan...what a great place!!

my guide was actually a friend of a friend...and he gave us the royal treatment. we are all now good friends, and when he came to the states, i showed him around.

  • The mountain is the place where I ate my first and last wasabi ice cream cone. I forgot which part of tokyo I was in but it was near a eletronic store called "Bic cam" I think some guy who was passing crap out to ppl, starting talking to me lol im like "no japanese" and he keeps on going and going talking to me lmfao. Asia is fun compared to the west, I live in california and you can't go anywhere w/o a car! Thats why I love asian cities, almost no one has a car and its so easy to get around.

  • that's so funny! i haven't tried wasabi ice cream...but hey...maybe the next time i'm in japan i'll try it and make a little video?! i live in ca too!!

  • I would advise against it, but it's your will lol. Cool, which part of CA are you from? Im near SF in the bay area. What do you do for a living? Always going on vacation!

  • Great video. You guys got to see some really great things there. I've been to Japan 3 times and I loved it every time I went.

  • thanks so much! we had a blast in japan...so much so, i'll be back again in 2008!! check out my "sushi for breakfast" video on you tube...i think you will like it too!

  • is there anything i should know when i get there?how difficult is it to talk to somone?

    thanks for the great vids!

  • thanks a lot...yeah, i had a fantastic time!! going back again this year...so expect another video.

  • I am surprized how well you present yourself it's like you do it for a living alot better then most of the traviling videos on here

  • very entertaining clip, japan looks so awesome everytime i see it

  • fuhahahahaha!!!!!!gaijin!!!!!

  • man are u guys lucky i want to go there sooooo bad

    fresh japaneese food and everything

did they have like tepenyaki or benihanna there?

  • wow. this made me miss japan even more. tokyo and kyoto are both very nice cities. I agree that Kinkakuji is awesome. you didn't go to kyomizu-dera?

It's sort of an inspiration since I plan to film my next vacation too. =D

  • thanks...i really appreciate it...yeah, i had a lot of fun putting this together...lots to see!

  • Very cool!! Great video, very entertaining! I really think the guy with glasses could be a host of a t.v., he's got that type of voice and personality.

  • i'm the guy with glasses...thanks so much!! check out my sushi for breakfast video too...i think you'll enjoy it. i really appreciate the nice comments!

  • God thats cool...i can't wait till i go after i graduate lol

  • i'm glad you enjoyed it..i loved making this little video...also check out sushi for breakfast and my other videos at channel131guy

  • haha real japanese sneeze. great vid

  • great film guys! cant wait to go!

  • The guy who is not wearing glasses looks like Tom Cruise!

  • i know...isn' that funny?! he's my friend and we always tell him he looks like tom cruise...in fact, while we were at the owakadoni in japan, people actually thought he was tom cruise

  • Sorry!! it is Nebuta matsuri, not Nubuta!!

  • thank you for the tips...i'll be sure to visit

  • Did you visit Nara? there is a temple called Todaiji, which has the huge Buddha statue.

Asakusa, where there is a temple and a shrine with all the little shops that sell Japanese traditional things.

In Aomori(northern part of Honshu), they have Nubuta-matsuri festival in summer, which looks really exciting.(People make huge festive floats lit up beautifully.)-I've never been there but I'd love to go sometime in the future.

  • It's a great video. I hope that you liked it here in Japan. I thought it was just great that you could visit so many places. Even for a Japanese, I have never visited Ryogoku to see Sumo wrestling. And I kind of wonder if you could eat the whole Japanese sweet that you got at the Sumo place(monaka). Wasn't it too sweet for you? Anyway, thank you for the great video!!

  • thank you so much! i had the luxury of seeing a lot of japan because of a new friend i met--you can see him in the videos. i can't wait to return...i've already got a trip planned for next year! any suggestions of what else i should see?

check out sushi for breakfast ...another video i made on you tube.

  • huhu,so goodBGM...^^ u love pizzicato5?

    NOMIYAsan gennki kana~~~

  • sweet looks like u guys had a great time. Hope I can go someday =D

  • Nice video I really enjoyed watching your journey. I wish I can visit Japan one day but being 16 and jobless I don't think i'll be able to visit any time soon!

  • Man, this video is taking me back when I was there just last week! I was at the same stores you were at, got the same map for Kyoto, and got that "ticket" before the Golden Pavillion!

The eggs turn black because of the sulfur in the hot springs.

Do you have more footage? This video is really taking me back!

  • i'm glad you liked it. check out sushi for breakfast for my other footage.

  • dude this video is awesome !! cant wait to go back to Japan !!

  • thanks!! i'm glad you enjoyed...i'm going back to japan next year....loved it!

hey check out sushi for breakfast...i think you'll dig it too

  • whats the name of the song around 4:00?

  • i believe its called "mon amour tokyo" by a group called pizzicato five

  • thanks !

  • I want to live in Japan :[

  • I loved my japan trip last year so I'm going back again for 3 weeks this year, but I'll be on my own, and haven't a clue as to what I'm going to do this time. It's fun watching your video, yodobashi camera is insane!

  • I heard Mario in the video.. the music.. from the game.. Oh, btw. I'm jealous. Yep.

  • everyone was cool with the videotaping although they don't really like you filming on the subways...

  • Loved the face the guy behind you made at 3:46. Maybe he had never seen a foreigner before... haha

How did people on the subway and other public places react when they realized you were taking video/talking into a camera. You guys did a lot of really cool things and have a great document. I wish I had the guts to take vid/pics. I am just too shy (>_<) Booohoo!

  • srry just watched the rest of the video, I know u prob have a lot of film and it would consume a lot of time, but I plan on traveling to Tokyo hopefully in summer of 08, and if u have any other clips u would upload thatd be great!!

  • were u just touring japan or actually live there?

  • i was just touring japan...where do you plan to go??

  • Tokyo of course, and Osaka, I plan on starting into my studies this summer, within the next couple of weeks actually, to try and know as much japanese as I can, would u recommend anywhere specific? thnx

  • the best advice i can give you: find a friend in japan. my trip would have been completely different had i not met a friend who lived in japan, knew where to go, etc. my video is basically the highlight of my trip...also check out my sushi for breakfast video on you tube

  • His nickname is "think tank".

  • whose nickname is "think tank?" is it the sumo wrestler?
