Well, I just got back from a little Bulb Buying trip. A local store was selling real lightbulbs (incandesant) for 79 cents a pack of 4. I added 24 packs to my stash. Thats 96 bulbs for $18.96. That amounts to less than 20 cents each.
@morningmayan you see, if we close down this factory then we (govt.) can hire up all the laid off workers, and add more power to our pockets! we are your government, stay inside your house, fear everything, do what we tell you, any naysay = treason and we can also stop you from ever getting on a plane again oh and tollroads and into banks and when we stick that rfid chip in you we can kill you at our discretion.. trust us
are you kidding? you KNOW the fucking things are an environmental hazard, so you recommend stockpiling them to get around the very sensible upcoming ban?
@jackiesheeler Are you aware of the mercury hazards the CFL bulbs present?
Perhaps there may be some small enviromental issues with incandesants. I feel the mercury hazard is far greater than anything the incandesants may present. It's all a matter of choices.
@jackiesheeler I think you should watch the anti-terrorists vid on CFL's - I had no idea how bad they were compared to the old bulbs. It made me return all my CFL lights to home depot and they took them too - used after I explained about what I had learned about CFL-
@jackiesheeler the only hazard that incandescents have is for ppl with little money. In other words, u do pay higher prices for ur bill but i think its ok for ppl who have money. no where in the constitution does the government have a right to tell ppl what kinda bulbs they can use. incandescents have been around for over 100 years so why are u complaining about them now? the government is suppose to REPRESENT us, not tell us what to do. We are the ppl who elect them so WE're the boss.
@noreaga12326 -- in other words, it's OK for people to squander energy however they like, as long as they can afford the utility bill. is that really what you're saying? do you really not understand that this has a negative impact on the planet? yes, bulbs are just one small part of it, but we've fucked the environment up so badly at this point that every little bit makes a difference. this is not about money or govt control. it's about protect the planet that feeds us.
@jackiesheeler you really are paranoid arent u. next you're gona tell me that the edison bulbs are partly responsible for global warming and the melting the snow in the North Pole? how do u figure that a cfl is good four our planet? If anything, they're probably bad for the earth, with all the toxic shit thats running in them. the main issue that i have with cfls is their looks.they give off shitty light. im not gona use gloomy light just cuz u greenie nut cases think it will save the planet
@jackiesheeler Compact fluorescent lamps are fire hazards. They are dangerous on anything other than dry contact switches. Modern ones are too cheap to not suck as quality costs money. The overblown mercury issue just distracts from all of the real dangers presented by these Chicom helicrap pieces of dreck and filth.
Not to mention the fact that gorebull wormening is bunk and the GLS lamp ban is being pushed by the worst serial killer in history, AKA government.
