He was not my favorite governor, or president. But he is going down in history as a great leader. I have changed my mind, behind the people who are running today. 2012 is going to be a nightmare. I don't mean this as a political statement/ just my opinion.

@MegaELECTRICEYE We lost our manufacturing base because of regulation ON the free market that required companies to pay more for labor than it was worth. All things being equal, when Target tries to charge you twice what Wal-Mart does, where would you buy your food? Are you evil for choosing Wal-Mart, even though it's offering you a more reasonable price? No! So why do we force companies to use unionized, over-priced, under-productive labor and blame capitalism when companies move away?

@ProRachStravinsKiev I think alot of ppl would disagree with you about labor in the US costing more then it's "worth". Many people would say the evilness in choosing Wal-Mart is because most of the products come from foreign laborers that are being way WAY under paid as well as being forced to work in dirty, unsafe conditions. Too often when companies leave, it's not because the US is too expensive but not as easy too exploit as desperate, poor foreigners usually are.

@TheYella20 You're mistaken about the "worth" of labor, because the worth of labor is determined by supply and demand. If the millions of manual laborers choose to stick in that profession, the value of their labor will increase as fewer laborers enter the market or decrease as more laborers enter the market. Equilibrium is their true value. I agree with you that slave-like labor is a major problem. Foreign laborers are definitely underpaid because of governmental pressure, not capitalism.

It was great times when Reagan was president, just as they are today. Under Reagan many with high college degrees that lost their Jobs worked, at great places like McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell. Reagan was real proud how he brought the price of oil down. LIAR!!! Opec flooded the market. Reagan was out of the Loop on weapons to Iran, LIAR!!! NSA forced retirement for a few during that time.WONDER WHY?? oh Trickle down economics worked real well. NOT!

No president or government can make a utopia, but certain policies have certain ramifications. It's unequivocally true that socialist policy hinders economic gains for lower and upper classes, obstructs lower classes from upward mobility, and actually increases non-economic discrimination (be it racial, ethnic, etc.).

That allow us to lose our manufaturing Base, or allow Greed to make the rule. Because they are looking out for their big profits. Some see through these racism accusations and it even motivates them because if these accusations are made without reason the alleger shows that he runs out of arguments. Even some politicians see through this, like the recently elected Congressman Allen West (he's tea party supported).

Truly one of the greatest presidents. Overwhelming won a second term by winning every state except Minnesota (Mondale's state). Even the Democrats loved him, and he certain didn't try to win them over by moving to the left. Reagan made everybody proud to be an American. Now, sadly, Obama makes us ashamed.

How is Reagan seen in US these days ? Because my favourite Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher is demonised over here in UK. Yet when she came to power in 1979, Britain was a basket case with everybody out on strike, the economy was in a mess but she took on the unions and dragged this country from the gutter and made it an absolute powerhouse and put it back on the world stage.

National debt when Reagan took office in 1981 (after the Arabian oil embargo and oil hike increased National Debt with Carter as Pres) was only 900 million. When he left was 3 billion. FDR knew what was at stake when it came to foreign policy. If he saw his own political party, he would be in grave dismay.
