i live in apache junction. extreme east end of the valley. i saw it on the news, and went outside to have a look.didn't see anything, but as i turned around to go back inside i looked up toward the superstition mountains and there it was! v-formation, 9 lights. no sound, no flashing, looked to be at about 20,000 ft. cruising at about the speed of an airliner. my guess, approx. 1/2 mile across. i watched until the lights disappeared into the distance. about 3-5 minutes. very real!

Just to settle this, the sightings of the row of lights over the mountains WERE flares from Luke air force base, BUT, the sightings of the triangle (of which this is based on) has yet to be proven NOT extraterrestrial. The flares (that disappeared as they dropped behind a mountain line in the distance) were indeed seen from the 'side' but the "V formation" was seen from both side and beneath. They spanned a width of +/- 3/4 mile, flew East by South/East, westward & passed over Queen Creek/Gilbert/Mesa/Tempe/South Scottsdale/ then the greater central Phoenix area, on out over Glendale, Litchfield Park & passed over the White Tank Mountains until out of view. No speed change.

No, there were 2 separate incidents that year. 1 of which did not include lights in a "V" formation, which gained lots of publicity due to some filming of it & that one was flares. The video debunk on this one is fairly clear as the overlay of the mountains in daylight hours explains it well.

The event in a "V" formation didn't get quality film evidence but is the one I witnessed & was military helicopters. I was driving 60 miles home the same direction and was beneath them

The problem with the real arizona lights footage is, that it dosen't show what the people are reporting. There is noting on the tape which shows that the lights are connected with each other. But your animation shows that from certain angles the wedge shaped alignment can look like a straight line like on the real footage. I wonder what a thermal image or a zero lux night shot camara would have revealed.
