God, this is the best music that reminds me truly of medieval culture, military and what they believed. Templari Reign, thats what came to mind when this piece was being played to me.
@Asliferollson how do u know if is not even out yet lol. but it depends if they follow the formula of shogun 2 it could be interesting. something that medieval always lack was a interesting GC, rome had the civil war and overtaking the senate, and shogun 2, as well, become strong then had all the clans go war agaisnt u and got to over take kyoto, it make it intense, when medieval didnt have that beside the pope which was a tool only. as well need the rpg style of shogun 2 with the generals.

Why are people rabbiting on about 'empires' when this is Kingdoms? Despite the fact the video is a terrible resolution, this is pretty neat. The first thing I loved about MW2 (and similarly MW) was the music they composed for it. Very good stuff. Ten people have no taste.
You know I bought a new computer to help me play Empire when it came out, and I ended up kjust playing MTW2 with really jacked graphics and unit sizes. Though right now its STW2 all the way.
after 3 years of playing M2 i really wish the battles would be so dynamic as in this video. unfortunately a band of heavy cavalry behaves pretty much like a tank, taking a shitload of damage and slowly strolling through tens of enemies without dying.
@MrMarouka That's what made from the start of the 11th to end of 14th century so interesting. So many changes and events whether through turmoil or through peace. So many discoveries made, and so many events that make up one of the most interesting times to study especially near the end.

@tzikas9 Hmm there's the old version of Shogun and TW fan community is still waiting for the second release, probably out early in 2011. The newest I've heard of is Napoleon Total War, though it'll be pretty much like Empire and most probably too will lack almost every good aspect of previous Total War releases u_u However, i recommend you to play the complete collection, and maybe try 1 or 2 mods to get a new experience while playing... I definitely recommend "The Third Age" for M2TW Kingdoms

Is anyone else dissapointed by the Assassination movies in Med. 2? I mean, looking back at Shogun, those things were amazing. But still, probably the best Computer game I've ever played.
Medieval 2 is a good game because of the grim historical setting of Europe at that time. It is the story/historical element combined with the mixed game play between the campaign map and real time battles as well as the diplomatic options that makes this a very successful game. Another thing that Empire does not have is the feature that makes one able to play a nation once it is defeated... All in all this is one of my best strategy games on my Uber system.Still waiting for Medieval 3.

medieval is way deeper than rome/empire. this is not a game for children. "Lift thine eyes", Holy war, infidels blood spilling, crusades, hangings and armed priests ? not for children dude !
Empire total war lacks the amazingness of intense melle combat, and where a few elite knights are actualy able to fight off countless inferior troops before dying gloryiously... and siege battles have become so boring.. Medieval 2 was by far the best one in the total war series
The only reason I don't like Empire is because while my computer is able to play it on medium settings, it keeps becoming horribly lag-prone after a little bit.
I tried setting it to low, but again, no dice. I think the game disagrees with another program on my computer or something (it shouldn't, though, as I have nothing unusual on my computer).
This video is so full of win and epic. Added to my favorites. Damn, it's almost on par or even equal to those Medieval 2 Total War Movie videos.

I agree with some comments, to me, Empire and Napoleon are NOT part of the Total War series, and I haven't bought Napoleon, and Empire Total War I'm thinking about selling it. I'm just waiting for the next one, hopefully a remake : )
@the10ne1 medieval 2 tw has a near perfect balance of graphics and gameplay. rome was more gameplay than graphics and empire tw was more graphics than gameplay.

I actually didnt like Empire that much at first either though it has grown on me. Medieval was my seccond favorite after ROME!!!! Rome is the best because the premise is just so entertaining. You're the center of the universe own everyone including your own allies lol. Plus infantry that throw javelin. I WANT ROME 2 PLEASE!!!!!
Rome's my favourite as well, then Medieval 2. Empire sucks indeed. However I don't really think Rome 2 would be good...What could they add after all? Almost the only thing they could add are more modern graphics, but with RTR or EB it becomes fine to me.
Maybe the only thing that could be fun is that they remake an expansion of Rome, with different small campaigns like Med: Kingdoms. Like there could be a campaign about Ceasar's gallic wars, one of the Pyrrhus, one about Punic wars, etc.
well its not just about adding new things its about advancing the performance imagine playin the game we fell in love with but times by 2 in graphics performance new factions like smaller ones new units maybe horses could charge straight through instead of stopping etc it would be amazing
Empire was nowhere near so awesome a Medieval 2. Napoleon is probably the most ridiculous idea they have come out with. It's frickin' the same as Empire for crying out loud!!!!!!!!!
Unfortuanately the clips used in the video were at a low resolution so the only thing I can do is make the video at a higher resolution with a much more pixelated image.

I don´t like the regions in Empire, and there is no music like in Medieval. In Medieval 2 there is more units, in Empire every nation have the same. MP sucks in Empire. DLC on Empire suck even that.. Like people saying, Rome 2!

@tosso11 They didn't have Jeff Van Dyck, yet the game was good by itself. Nobody talks anything about the original Shogun and Medieval Total War - becouse practicly nobody knows about them, the majority played the Total War games when Rome appeared(which is arguably on of the best in the series).
@MisterAAnderson I honestly thought(and still think) Medieval Total War is the best, I played that game before Rome came out, but Rome was still pretty fun.
Not everybody is against the Empire I really like it but it is mostly range fire battles and the it dosnt have many interesting history. The others have many history and many interesting battles and chararcters. Also the melee batles Are so dang COOl
Actually there are a lot of building improovements and researches to be made iin Empire therefore there are tons of text descriptions about mostly everything. And random (historical) events happen more often in Empire then in other total war games so it can be really educational too. And has anybody noticed that Rome and Empire are rated 12+ but Medieval 2 total war is 16+? lol

From the look of Medieval blood was going to advance in Empire but instead they used less. I love empires and am probably one of the few who reads everything, but I got to say, my favorite is Rome Total War, each game gives off its own feeling. I think why people are hating on empires is due to the new format, which i find is great for empires! I would not want to see RTW 2 have the same format though, its just that so many people are used to the old style and "born into it" so they may not like it as much as someone who starts with empires.
I bet you must be the classical gentleman, who enjoys letting your soldiers walk in line and take turns at shooting at each other with the enemy while drinking tea with the rest of your officers at a safe distance from the battlefield xD
@Gash1234 The main reason I don't like Empire is the fact that its battle is too boring. And but historically true too. Battles of that period is dominated by firepower. It becomes too easy to out smart the AI: just mass as much firepower: artillery, musket and skirmishers at any point and the AI will run like rabbits. Maneuvers like flanking becomes unnecessary. Try take cavalry around, all you need is turn the musket around, fire 2 burst, and there goes the cav.
@Gash1234 your right it was a good game just as good by the time they fixed it; thing is there were major innovations but nobody noticed because it was released too early however once they fixed it it was along with Napoleon the best TW's to date as each new one must be.
I've recently installed "War Leaders Clash of Nations". It is a total war clone in the second world war. I didn't really like it but it prooves that it's possible. But seeing Empire total war, which I am sorry to say is a shame to total war fans everywhere with it's numerous problems, a game like that will be full of bugs and will be shipped out for profit so the producers will not give too much tought to gameplay. Very sad :(
Nowdays it's not a question of wherther it is possible. It is a question of how stupidily retarded and heartbreaking a game will be. All the series have been going downhill lately so... yeah 100% sure they will go for it :(
I have Empire: Total War. I like the sea battles, but there are a lot of sound problems on land battles even with the sound fix. Plus cavalry is spreading out very often. Is anybody else having these issues? Despite this I'm going to make a video related to Empire right after a short presentation video which will be coming soon. :D
I agree but still empire total war was pretty good but too focused on great britian. If they included africa and a big part of asia it would be so much better And the time line must started earlier Just when spain started the colonisation also that you can creat the german and italien nations and madya even great britian true war or a union
Because Rome was arguably the most flawed but also the most enjoyable of all their games. Empire was in my opinion flawless, esp. in terms of the campaign map, but it was no where near as fun as Rome. If they can have the strategic side of Empire and the tactical side and setting of Rome it would be awesome.
I have a 128mb video card also and yes. If you get a 256mb card you should definately see an improovement. On top of that, a proccesor with a higher speed might also be useful. If you still have problems turn the textures and the antialiasing off from the options menu. That usually solves half of the problem :) at the cost of quality of course.
In empire TW you have to use gunpowder domination and the cavalry played a supportive role but all in all the TW series rocks! i wonder what they would create next?
I could not agree more with you binshuy :). Rome had and will always have the BEST feeling in the series. I am feeling like reinstalling barbarian invasion right now actually :). And yeah in medieval 2 ... cavalry FTW!
The next might be about modern warfare or world war. Either that or they might turn 180 degrees in history and repolish the old ones (Rome 2 would be awesome :D)

umm right now Empire Total War really sucks because of its Bugs and faulty AI (when an entire regiment does not move) im waiting for CA for a fix right now you should try a RTW mod called Roma Surrectum 2 and in my opinion is the best Mod ever created
oh and I really wanted to buy Special Forces Edition. :( I keep wondering wether it's worth it or not. I might just try that mod. It looks awesome :D. But what about Total realism? I'm looking for a bigger campaign map and tougher AI.
Rome total realism is good but the unit skins for me are uncool, Try Europa barbarorum 2.0 its Historically accurate and the skins are historycailly correct and the map extends its borders into India and Bactria and the whole of Arabia and added a lot of cities and realistic politics ^^
not to mention EuropaBarbarorum's AI is AWESOME i swear you'll be pretty busy after installing it XD. Roma Surrectums Skins are Awesome plus the romans have unique individual named legions with different armor, legion standards and shields with powerful cavalry, the elephants are nerffed though :(

. then in MTW2 using a mod for realism i realized cavalry really dominated the battlefield and how later in the game became obsolete because of the rise of professional armies ( AKA pike men and muskets form huge and large cities, pike men sucks if the game wasn't patched )
i love how the total war games differ in each series in terms of tactics, i enjoyed RTW because of the organized infantry combat with Roman legionaries and using the hammer and anvil strikes of cavalry, and i really liked the officers and flag bearers in each unit card it gives a sense of discipline in your army
MTW2 is a horrible game. AI is broken, completely unplayable at some points. Never buying CA games ever again. Its a shame, because if it worked properly it would be a solid game.
I did. They are still incomplete, nor are they expected to be. People should not be fixing a game for free the developer failed to complete. Ultimate AI? Vader AI? Still not fully there.
It is theft what companies are doing... releasing incomplete games promising to patch them. They know who they are. I will have them know I will never pay for their games again, and will resort to cracked version for free. CA is on that list.

Maybe the only thing that could be fun is that they remake an expansion of Rome, with different small campaigns like Med: Kingdoms. Like there could be a campaign about Ceasar's gallic wars, one of the Pyrrhus, one about Punic wars, etc.

Unfortuanately the clips used in the video were at a low resolution so the only thing I can do is make the video at a higher resolution with a much more pixelated image.
Or... I could get the trailers in HD format and recompose the video all over again... something I might just be willing to do :)

I don´t like the regions in Empire, and there is no music like in Medieval. In Medieval 2 there is more units, in Empire every nation have the same. MP sucks in Empire. DLC on Empire suck even that.. Like people saying, Rome 2!

@tosso11 They didn't have Jeff Van Dyck, yet the game was good by itself. Nobody talks anything about the original Shogun and Medieval Total War - becouse practicly nobody knows about them, the majority played the Total War games when Rome appeared(which is arguably on of the best in the series).

Not everybody is against the Empire I really like it but it is mostly range fire battles and the it dosnt have many interesting history. The others have many history and many interesting battles and chararcters. Also the melee batles Are so dang COOl

Actually there are a lot of building improovements and researches to be made iin Empire therefore there are tons of text descriptions about mostly everything. And random (historical) events happen more often in Empire then in other total war games so it can be really educational too. And has anybody noticed that Rome and Empire are rated 12+ but Medieval 2 total war is 16+? lol

From the look of Medieval blood was going to advance in Empire but instead they used less. I figured flying limbs and tons of blood considering the time period was severely screwed up in real life, but no, let's lower the rating for little kids. *face palm*

I love empires and am probably one of the few who reads everything, but I got to say, my favorite is Rome Total War, each game gives off its own feeling. I think why people are hating on empires is due to the new format, which i find is great for empires! I would not want to see RTW 2 have the same format though, its just that so many people are used to the old style and "born into it" so they may not like it as much as someone who starts with empires.

@Gash1234 The main reason I don't like Empire is the fact that its battle is too boring. And but historically true too. Battles of that period is dominated by firepower. It becomes too easy to out smart the AI: just mass as much firepower: artillery, musket and skirmishers at any point and the AI will run like rabbits. Maneuvers like flanking becomes unnecessary. Try take cavalry around, all you need is turn the musket around, fire 2 burst, and there goes the cav.

I've recently installed "War Leaders Clash of Nations". It is a total war clone in the second world war. I didn't really like it but it prooves that it's possible. But seeing Empire total war, which I am sorry to say is a shame to total war fans everywhere with it's numerous problems, a game like that will be full of bugs and will be shipped out for profit so the producers will not give too much tought to gameplay. Very sad :(

agree, i liked the medieval 2 engine more. you should notice that in empire total war, all fights are duels. they never fight a 2v1 etc

I have Empire: Total War. I like the sea battles, but there are a lot of sound problems on land battles even with the sound fix. Plus cavalry is spreading out very often. Is anybody else having these issues? Despite this I'm going to make a video related to Empire right after a short presentation video which will be coming soon. :D

My dream would be Rome 2
Because Rome was arguably the most flawed but also the most enjoyable of all their games. Empire was in my opinion flawless, esp. in terms of the campaign map, but it was no where near as fun as Rome. If they can have the strategic side of Empire and the tactical side and setting of Rome it would be awesome.

I have a 128mb video card also and yes. If you get a 256mb card you should definately see an improovement. On top of that, a proccesor with a higher speed might also be useful. If you still have problems turn the textures and the antialiasing off from the options menu. That usually solves half of the problem :) at the cost of quality of course.

In empire TW you have to use gunpowder domination and the cavalry played a supportive role but all in all the TW series rocks! i wonder what they would create next?

I could not agree more with you binshuy :). Rome had and will always have the BEST feeling in the series. I am feeling like reinstalling barbarian invasion right now actually :). And yeah in medieval 2 ... cavalry FTW!
The next might be about modern warfare or world war. Either that or they might turn 180 degrees in history and repolish the old ones (Rome 2 would be awesome :D)
Oh and I do not own Empire. I want to hear your opinions about the game! Share your experience! :D

umm right now Empire Total War really sucks because of its Bugs and faulty AI (when an entire regiment does not move) im waiting for CA for a fix right now you should try a RTW mod called Roma Surrectum 2 and in my opinion is the best Mod ever created

Rome total realism is good but the unit skins for me are uncool, Try Europa barbarorum 2.0 its Historically accurate and the skins are historycailly correct and the map extends its borders into India and Bactria and the whole of Arabia and added a lot of cities and realistic politics ^^

. then in MTW2 using a mod for realism i realized cavalry really dominated the battlefield and how later in the game became obsolete because of the rise of professional armies ( AKA pike men and muskets form huge and large cities, pike men sucks if the game wasn't patched )

i love how the total war games differ in each series in terms of tactics, i enjoyed RTW because of the organized infantry combat with Roman legionaries and using the hammer and anvil strikes of cavalry, and i really liked the officers and flag bearers in each unit card it gives a sense of discipline in your army

MTW2 is a horrible game. AI is broken, completely unplayable at some points. Never buying CA games ever again. Its a shame, because if it worked properly it would be a solid game.

I did. They are still incomplete, nor are they expected to be. People should not be fixing a game for free the developer failed to complete. Ultimate AI? Vader AI? Still not fully there.
It is theft what companies are doing... releasing incomplete games promising to patch them. They know who they are. I will have them know I will never pay for their games again, and will resort to cracked version for free. CA is on that list.
