@ikolkyo967 Correction, it was on its way back to Everett , Washington but done a missed approach at East Midlands as a way of saying thank you and to show off their engines to the Rolls Royce workers who built them.
@minitrundle i know they were showing off also but could be testing a Missed Approach also seeing how fast engines can throttle up seeing if the computer goes from landing mode to a take off mode
@hazel2K9 i agree with hamham500 it's really good economically because it is so light and that sort of precision is incredible , a normal car will do around 60-80MPG while this aircraft can do around 120-150MPG and at speeds in excess of 300MPH.
@99falc you'd only have to see the uk tv programme TopGear's race from Switzerland to the North West of England to know there are at least two normal cars capable of exceeding 60mpg: a VW Polo BlueMotion, 74.3mpg and a Subaru Legacy Diesel, 63mpg ;-)
@hazel2K9 Fastest method of transportation, connects the world, open up the world to different places, Businesses benefit off flight, connects family and friends. Whats so cool about a plane? Ignorant question...
Park at the end of 27, then walk left facing the runway and then keep on following the fence around until you see a little hill; please note this could take 20 min.
she is a beaut i saw the aircraft at the engine plant , i was stood directly under it as flew over the first time then i moved and saw the the size of the Trent 1000's. the swept wing is incredible its more swept than i thought. Add to that these engines are super quiet , RR has not only done it with the Trent 900 its now done it again with the 1000 both built in derby.
Thanks Boeing for rewarding us all with a great show and thanks RR for providing a great engine.
your awesome for going to the airport for us and video taping airplanes just for us (and maybe so you can watch em to!). Thanks man love your vids you rock.
Very noticeable wing flex with the 787. Good to see that a British company, Thomas Cook, has ordered the Dreamliner so we should see the beauty in our skies sooner rather than later :o)
@hamham500 Yeah, I realised my mistake about 2 seconds after I'd posted. I got my Thomas's confused with my Thomson's, that's all. "D'oh!" as they say...

@hazel2K9 Most parts are made out of carbon fiber instead of Aluminum like other planes, which makes the 787 alot lighter for its size.

@MarkeatonLord
Planes are taking off from runway 09 that day however 27 which is used mostly.
hamham500 3 months ago
@hamham500 Runway 09? I've only ever seen one runway when I've been to work.
MarkeatonLord 3 months ago
@MarkeatonLord
Okay. RWY 27 is the side near the Motorway or in other words that runway is 270deg
09 is 90 deg and is near the aeropark side and DHL terminal.
