@adiofallen I think the chances are slim that he'll revisit these old videos, so I thought I'd give you my experience. I had a 2nd generation Gold Top PV Wolfgang for about two years. Weight wise it was like a slightly lighter Les Paul. Feel wise it was almost exactly like playing a Fender. I didn't like the maple neck. It tended to get sticky after extended playing. The pickups were medium output, but given their voicing it always seemed like they needed pushing IMO. High quality though.

I second this. Rob, I've been trying to nail that "perfect" solo sound from my SC-2 for a few weeks now, but I'm having issues. Either the low end dominates, or the highs scream out enough to hurt my ears after a few minutes. Could be that my Tiny Terror is too loud, though. xD But do you have any pointers for the SC-2? What I'm looking for is a pretty modern John Petrucci-like tone with tons of sustain (though the DL-8 pretty much takes care of that I've found). ;)

I've got a Tiny Terror with a Mesa 3/4 2x12" cab, Hardwire SC-2, DL-8 and TL-2. Actually, I think heavier strings might be what I need. I just need the highs to come together a little bit.

Yeah I had a hunch... With tone you should start from the ground up, I would recommend 10 Gauge strings. I found the perfect lead sound at almost full volume, with a singlecut (Humbuckers) and an MXR boost pedal just pushing it a touch. But your Hardwire is an excellent pedal... Lastly this could also be a symptom of your active pups.

Yes, I've given the pickups a bit of thought as well... cheaper solutions are prioritized, though! The neck sounds quite warm and such already, I just need a little fuller sound on the bridge. So I'll probably get myself 10 gauge strings and then do some more experimenting with the SC-2. Might try lowering the pups as well, come to think of it... thanks ;)
