I threw OSX on my 5 year old Toshiba and some Mac owners I know acted like it was an inferior machine to the laptops they paid $900+ for despite having the exact same specs. The nVidia OR ATi cards are total shit... and overpriced... a mac Pro ATi4870 is £250....it's £120 for a PC =D and I haven't seen any i7 Macs floating about yet. and I don't know what OS you are talking about for plug n' play because almost NO drivers are mac compatible......
It's not about specs. It's how you use them. My Ibook 1 Gigahertz runs windows 7 faster than my dualcore 1.83 intel. Also, so you're saying Nvidia and Ati are total shit? That makes no sense. As for the plug and play argument, i've never had a conflict issue with Leopard, only with Vista and 7.

The computers themselves are still competitively priced compared to a Pc with the same specs and features. I don't even think I've seen a Pc with a multi-touch large track pad except for hp and it didn't even come CLOSE to the specs. Apple has something to offer to the computer world that no one else is able to do. Complete software/hardware integration.

To not get in to the technical details much, basically Apple's chips before Intel were PowerPC (a consortium of IBM, Motorola and Apple). Ever since about 2002, PowerPC development started to lag seriously behind Intel development in terms of performance (and cost to a degree). Switching to Intel chips allowed Apple to increase performance across their entire lineup, and remain competitive in the market. Combine that with other steps Apple has taken, and you'll see why Mac sales have increased.

You know, they could have at least used a Postal Service song.. just to denote some sort of "thanks for the idea" to them... Really disappointing of Apple to do this.. Tsk tsk tsk... Funny how somewhat the same thing happened with Apple's original logo (a bitten rainbow colored apple): the original creator of it never got any credit for it.
Now of course its the same director in this case, but it was meant for Postal Service, not Apple.. You get my drift. Stop making me confuse myself.

I think its a stupid music video in the first place, it makes sense for the apple commercial, but for me does not work for the Postal Service song at all. I think it sucks, but the song is one of my all time favorites

Ha ha, I'm with you on that. I think it's funny how now the iPhone is doing stuff that's considered "innovative". I could do the same things on my PocketPc phones years before the iPhone came out, and sadly, sometimes more. It's just that people aren't willing to shell out the money for something that isn't "flashy", "stylish", or "trendy". I'm not a huge fan of M$ either, just for the record.
