It's so sad-- the actress was really good, but she was banned from china's acting industry because the movie apparently supported "the enemy in war." I think that's a bit harsh for a punishment, don't you think?

i just saw this movie. Thats too bad cause the movie doesn't really support the japanese sympathizers. Tony Leung's character is the villain. Her character is just human and flawed.

not because it supported "the enemy in war"- - i don't think they care about this since they've controlled the whole mainland, but because there are too many sex scenes. And actually this movie is allowed in China, but of course in a bowdlerized version

@niajhabenson7 If you like Ang Lee then you should def see this. I found this movie to be very beautiful but I can understand how it is not for everyone. I am going to suggest you rent/buy it.
