Imports (smaller motors) have to rev out to make a reasonable amount of power. With "stangs" you don't need to rev it out to create as much power because of displacement. Just because the best thing is low end (actually mid range) doesn't mean the top end is bad. It just means that the best part is mid to low. Imports are bad low though.

even my friend thought that was wierd, but i dont know. maybe it really was just bolt-ons, and shorter gears to accelerate faster. but if you're beating everything like you're saying, then its probably because you rebuilt it, and even if it is built to stock specs, it might be making more than it came from the factory, or maybe it was previously one of them "factory freaks". but accords are heavy and slow, and the CRX, if it had the right motor, or from japan, should definitely beat your V6
@joescivic I never rebuilt it owned since it had 120k now it has 180k it was a rental car when new hence the high mileage. And I don't lose much races because I only race the ones I know I can beat lol which is pretty much older civics, accords, CRXs, mini vans etc.. I knew I would lose to that girl with the truck but she was hot and I had to try. But the weak points on my car is intake gears and exhaust, especially the gears fucking 2.73 is pathetic but gets er done I guess.
@thirdgenguy17 still kind of odd, even to beat some old civics. 96-00 shouldnt really have a problem, and most people with their stock motors atleast will add intake, header, exhaust (not like it does alot to those cars) and they should atleast beat 94-98 V6's also. ESPECIALLY the Si version. 92-95 has pretty much the same HP/TQ specs as the 96-00 EX, and they're lighter. so thats kind of odd to me too. i guess your area is full of fucked up hondas or something.
@joescivic Well most are MN does not do inspections so people let their cars go up here and half the time these Honda's are owned by high school kids and they all want to race me, pulling up next to me at a light just red lining their car I laugh shake my head and blow them away they lose every time haha, but most of them spend more money on fart cannons and body kits and spray paint. Something with my car though I cant go anywhere without people wanting to race me it gets annoying sometimes.

When I had a small shitty intake, a shitty header, and stock exhaust that all killed my power, I was beating 2840lb RSX-S"s like NOTHING, and they had a quality header, intake, and exhaust. 340lb difference and I still raped him with less power

@thirdgenguy17 you know what else? When I had those 2 shitty bolt ons losing power, only making 184whp, I was raping 05-09 GT's. My friends 07 with pypes lost every time. He lost by 4 car lengths to about 150 MPH. My cicivc with its original motor, and stock, could beat your year V6. Especially the newer civics. They can even beat thenewer V6 with an 06 civic Si. And with bolt ons, I've seen them beat the GT. So yu have to have a lot of mods to that old V6

I have raced CRX's older civics and a few like the one in this video and I have never lost to one but of all of them the CRX gave me the best run only beat him by a few inches and only reason for that is I had 3 other people in my car that all pushed over 200lbs each and I needed a tune up plus he had a manual I herd him hitting high rpms, I'm not calling my car fast but come on civics cant even beat me!
@thirdgenguy17 i have no time to bullshit. my 2000 civic has a k20 motor in it. it came out of the 02-04 RSX-S. 200hp 6spd. same motor as the 06-11 civic Si basically. stock, they dyno about 180whp. like i said, with that shitty small diameter intake, and "swap" header, and stock exhaust (which is smaller than the motor came with on the RSX). i should have been making about 195-200whp tuned. but i had 184whp. everyone with k20 SWAPS know you SHOULD beat 05-09 GT's. i even beat the 2010
@joescivic Even so that is not the original motor stock wise you would not stand a chance against my Mustang. As for GT's they are not that quick at least the SOHC 16v 4.6L not the new 5.0L or Cobra DOHC 32v. I beat my friends 98 Mustang GT, it really don't take much to beat them when they are stock anyway they are dogs and the only mod I have is a CAI with a K&N filter and I completely went through my motor it runs like new.

@joescivic I will admit my top end is slow since they wont go past 117MPH and I could use better gears to help me off the line but 0-60 I clocked it once at 8.8 secs, that CAI with K&N filter made one hell of a difference on my car and I know for a fact my car can do better then 17 in the 1/4 mile.
@thirdgenguy17 ive seen them at the track run best of like low to mid 16's with like intake and headers. not sure what they have because i dont know them, but i know cars when i see them, and this guy had a 94-98 body style mustang, and it was a V6. it would be a close race between a 2000 Si and a 94 GT. and ive seen a guys car at the track, and this is the only one, so its hard to even believe, but his 00 Si ran like 13.8 or 13.9 with bolt-ons and tune. ive only seen domestic factory freaks

@joescivic Yes I beat my friends 98 Mustang GT and you can see his car and my dads on my channel both of them I beat though friends GT got me in the long run after I let off haha I did have a sec head start plus I launched mine at like 3-4K RPMS. Keep in mind his is a stock automatic 4.6L so its nothing fancy he has a CAI but some cheap ass filter on it.

Honda reliability is a Myth most Honda fans need to do research before making any kind of comment about any cars. Its a fact that Honda makes weak drive trains among other things truth is they used to make a good product and that time is long gone. American cars make just as good if not better built cars as imports at present but you will never here that from most bias reviewers. Its common practice to put down anything American its very very sad.

@dipshit782 A stock gt normally runs in the 14s and same with the rsx's. You argue strip the gt down to the rxs's weight but the curb weight of a gt is 3270lbs and the rsx is 2790lbs so theres not much difference and the gt has twice the engine. An rsx type s makes 100hp per liter, the new 5.0 mustangs dont even produce that much. Im not trying to argue which one is better but this turned into a different debate when you tried comparing a stock civic to a stock s/c cobra
@CustomX113 Gt is right at 3500lbs, you must not know a whole lot about drag racing if you think that amount of weight makes no difference. I said 15 flat the best i have seen a near stock rsx run was 14.8, best i have seen a near stock 99-04 gt run was 13.9. Stock vs stock a honda will never win, i dont care that this heavily modified honda beat a lightly modified or pry stock cobra. Start modifying the cobra and see what happens.

Still enjoy my lil turbo eclipse as a beat around car but after all the trouble i went through having to modify every single component on my gsx to only hold 500whp (hondas have even weaker transaxles and driveline components) i will stick to my american v8 that was meant for it.

@CustomX113 blower is a bolt on, especially considering its supercharged factor. Search it on youtube there are ported eaton, no nitrous, 6 speed manual, irs cobras running in the 9s, and ther are quite a few in the 10s aswell.

I like any built up car when done right but its very very hard to like a Honda just because of all the assholes out there giving them a bad name. Few weeks ago a kid in a 04 Accord v6 reved his stock engine at me i took off leaving him behind(and i have bad injectors) so i slowed down then he speeds rite by be cutting me off "you lost deal with it" when i lose i dont get mad i go and find out why i lost and correct or upgrade it lol. Oh by the way I dont think that is a cobra most likely a V6
@CustomX113 At least the cobra was designed to be a performance vehicle therefore it holds up alot better under these conditions. I honda civic that makes a whopping 90hp to the wheels from factory and isnt built to be a performance vehicle, when you start modifying the term reliable no longer exists. Strip the cobra down to race weight and see what happens at least the cobra can ride in style and be comfortable doing it ( not a rattle trap pos gokart like the civic).

I have a friend with a highly modified civic that will most likely be a 9 sec car by next summer but its not daily driven and has over 50 grand invested. The only women i know that drives a mustang is my girlfriend and its a 2011 v6 not a gt or cobra.

@jer66666 stangs own at the lower end, but Hondas rock the upper end. simple tuning 101. My old Honda Prelude is now a 700hp machine, not even many mustangs that can claim that kind of power. Not saying mustangs can't be fast, but they have a weakness in the upper end.

Imports (smaller motors) have to rev out to make a reasonable amount of power. With "stangs" you don't need to rev it out to create as much power because of displacement. Just because the best thing is low end (actually mid range) doesn't mean the top end is bad. It just means that the best part is mid to low. Imports are bad low though.

even my friend thought that was wierd, but i dont know. maybe it really was just bolt-ons, and shorter gears to accelerate faster. but if you're beating everything like you're saying, then its probably because you rebuilt it, and even if it is built to stock specs, it might be making more than it came from the factory, or maybe it was previously one of them "factory freaks". but accords are heavy and slow, and the CRX, if it had the right motor, or from japan, should definitely beat your V6

@joescivic I never rebuilt it owned since it had 120k now it has 180k it was a rental car when new hence the high mileage. And I don't lose much races because I only race the ones I know I can beat lol which is pretty much older civics, accords, CRXs, mini vans etc.. I knew I would lose to that girl with the truck but she was hot and I had to try. But the weak points on my car is intake gears and exhaust, especially the gears fucking 2.73 is pathetic but gets er done I guess.

@thirdgenguy17 still kind of odd, even to beat some old civics. 96-00 shouldnt really have a problem, and most people with their stock motors atleast will add intake, header, exhaust (not like it does alot to those cars) and they should atleast beat 94-98 V6's also. ESPECIALLY the Si version. 92-95 has pretty much the same HP/TQ specs as the 96-00 EX, and they're lighter. so thats kind of odd to me too. i guess your area is full of fucked up hondas or something.

@joescivic Well most are MN does not do inspections so people let their cars go up here and half the time these Honda's are owned by high school kids and they all want to race me, pulling up next to me at a light just red lining their car I laugh shake my head and blow them away they lose every time haha, but most of them spend more money on fart cannons and body kits and spray paint. Something with my car though I cant go anywhere without people wanting to race me it gets annoying sometimes.

My 00 civic is a 2500lb cvic from the factory with a singlecam. And has a 2.0L k20 in it now. When I had a small shitty intake, a shitty header, and stock exhaust that all killed my power, I was beating 2840lb RSX-S"s like NOTHING, and they had a quality header, intake, and exhaust. 340lb difference and I still raped him with less power

He lost by 4 car lengths to about 150 MPH. My cicivc with its original motor, and stock, could beat your year V6. Especially the newer civics. They can even beat thenewer V6 with an 06 civic Si. And with bolt ons, I've seen them beat the GT. So yu have to have a lot of mods to that old V6

I have raced CRX's older civics and a few like the one in this video and I have never lost to one but of all of them the CRX gave me the best run only beat him by a few inches and only reason for that is I had 3 other people in my car that all pushed over 200lbs each and I needed a tune up plus he had a manual I herd him hitting high rpms, I'm not calling my car fast but come on civics cant even beat me!

@thirdgenguy17 i have no time to bullshit. my 2000 civic has a k20 motor in it. it came out of the 02-04 RSX-S. 200hp 6spd. same motor as the 06-11 civic Si basically. stock, they dyno about 180whp. like i said, with that shitty small diameter intake, and "swap" header, and stock exhaust (which is smaller than the motor came with on the RSX). i should have been making about 195-200whp tuned. but i had 184whp. everyone with k20 SWAPS know you SHOULD beat 05-09 GT's. i even beat the 2010

@joescivic Even so that is not the original motor stock wise you would not stand a chance against my Mustang. As for GT's they are not that quick at least the SOHC 16v 4.6L not the new 5.0L or Cobra DOHC 32v. I beat my friends 98 Mustang GT, it really don't take much to beat them when they are stock anyway they are dogs and the only mod I have is a CAI with a K&N filter and I completely went through my motor it runs like new.

@joescivic I will admit my top end is slow since they wont go past 117MPH and I could use better gears to help me off the line but 0-60 I clocked it once at 8.8 secs, that CAI with K&N filter made one hell of a difference on my car and I know for a fact my car can do better then 17 in the 1/4 mile.

Its a fact that Honda makes weak drive trains among other things truth is they used to make a good product and that time is long gone. American cars make just as good if not better built cars as imports at present but you will never here that from most bias reviewers. I personally think with enough knowledge(and money) u can make any car fast, but ppl especially here in socal make them out to be the fastest car ever made most of which only came with just over 100hp the scion crowd is getting the same way. I'm currently building up my 99 grand am and i cant drive down the street without one of these cars trying to race me. Most lose some get lucky lol

@dipshit782 A stock gt normally runs in the 14s and same with the rsx's. You argue strip the gt down to the rxs's weight but the curb weight of a gt is 3270lbs and the rsx is 2790lbs so theres not much difference and the gt has twice the engine. An rsx type s makes 100hp per liter, the new 5.0 mustangs dont even produce that much. Im not trying to argue which one is better but this turned into a different debate when you tried comparing a stock civic to a stock s/c cobra

@CustomX113 Gt is right at 3500lbs, you must not know a whole lot about drag racing if you think that amount of weight makes no difference. I said 15 flat the best i have seen a near stock rsx run was 14.8, best i have seen a near stock 99-04 gt run was 13.9. Stock vs stock a honda will never win, i dont care that this heavily modified honda beat a lightly modified or pry stock cobra. Start modifying the cobra and see what happens.

@dipshit782 Eventually you will learn, i have owned 3 dsms and made the switch to a mustang gt and eventually worked my way up to the cobra i have now guess everyones different we can argue this all day long. Still enjoy my lil turbo eclipse as a beat around car but after all the trouble i went through having to modify every single component on my gsx to only hold 500whp (hondas have even weaker transaxles and driveline components) i will stick to my american v8 that was meant for it.

Of coarse a gt stripped down to the rsx's weight is gonna be faster, it has twice the engine dude. The civic still would have pulled away from a pullied bolt on cobra... 132mph trap speed is not slow by any means

There are cobras in the 9s with bolt ons, there is no such thing as a bolt on civic in the 9s, not even close.

@CustomX113 blower is a bolt on, especially considering its supercharged factor. Search it on youtube there are ported eaton, no nitrous, 6 speed manual, irs cobras running in the 9s, and ther are quite a few in the 10s aswell.

Yes there are "bolt on" blower kits that are provided by manufacturers but a blower is considered forced induction, which is not bolt on...If I twin turbo'd my Camaro SS there is no way in hell I would call it a bolt on car lol.

I like any built up car when done right but its very very hard to like a Honda just because of all the assholes out there giving them a bad name. Few weeks ago a kid in a 04 Accord v6 reved his stock engine at me i took off leaving him behind(and i have bad injectors) so i slowed down then he speeds rite by be cutting me off "you lost deal with it" when i lose i dont get mad i go and find out why i lost and correct or upgrade it lol. Oh by the way I dont think that is a cobra most likely a V6

@CustomX113 At least the cobra was designed to be a performance vehicle therefore it holds up alot better under these conditions. I honda civic that makes a whopping 90hp to the wheels from factory and isnt built to be a performance vehicle, when you start modifying the term reliable no longer exists. Strip the cobra down to race weight and see what happens at least the cobra can ride in style and be comfortable doing it ( not a rattle trap pos gokart like the civic).

I have a friend with a highly modified civic that will most likely be a 9 sec car by next summer but its not daily driven and has over 50 grand invested. The only women i know that drives a mustang is my girlfriend and its a 2011 v6 not a gt or cobra.
