  • Always wanted to travel there and meet Tom Christiansen and Irma...alas Tom is gone now....

  • population is 75 as of 8/11

  • Residents must be bored silly. It's so small and remote, wouldn't it seem very confining?

  • 19garfield62 i thought so

  • do they ever need motors there ?!

  • @adelhead They use a lot of Quads, barely any motors

  • These guys must be pretty inbred.

  • @sam350999 One track mind? The people go of the island for secondary school and University. So the island has new blood by the people marrying of the island and settle back on the island

  • @19garfield62 Still, most of the islanders are inter-related.

  • any cheap flights from heathrow ? ryanair maybe ?

  • @ziemass Are you fucking dumb? Do you really think this place has an airport?

  • any cgeao flights from Heathrow ? ryanair maybe ?

  • @bogzasv8ma you don't get out much do you, this is a magical place only accessible by sea so people like you can't get on a plane and go there which is a good thing as you think it is boring. Great place thanks for the vid hasn't changed in 17 years.

  • Really amazing view! I would love to visit there....

  • looks boring

  • it would take more than a third of the population away if they had a national football away match

  • @stoopid335

There are like 12 - 14 male persons on the pitcairn players. Age and health conditions?

    LOLZ! :D:D:D:D:D

  • Wasn't there a scandal in the past few years of men having under age sex with girls? Some of them were prosecuted in NZ I think. Sad.

  • What about pointng out the pa site ?

  • @UltraBiscuit this cop have gun?one or more?what he ll do if some natives man want to kill him.....i think nothing....

  • I am fascinated by this place and other island like it!

  • what is their currency note? what do they do there? it is nice place...

  • @giorelee The New Zealand Dollar, they work to grow food and maintain the Island and receive Cruise ships and other tourists

  • @19garfield62 a cruise ship would increase the population 6400%

  • I would love to live on Pitcairn, I'd literally start saving tomorrow if it weren't hard to qualify.

  • Wow hehe so that's like the highest point then .. i was just checking out the population list of wikipedia and I so want to visit places like this one .. how do u spell it ? Peeet Cèrn or peet Càrn ??? Well i guess the population is going to be like 51 Soon lol Peace thxx for uploading the Highest point of pitcirn islands love it

  • @UltraBiscuit Yes there is a cop, from New-Zealand. And no he is not very busy these days

  • Beautiful video and sad to see people make everything political. Why not just admire the beauty of Pitcairn in this video?

  • Light Bulb Phonograph Telephone Radio Television Airplane Computer Telegraph Sewing machine Artificial heart Bifocals Cotton gin Refridgerator Water tower Typewritter Camera And the USA is on target to double its foreign aid to $50 Billion a year by 2012
  • @1DigitalFlow Hahaha nice. But I am sure the artificial heart was first placed in South Africa by Dr Bernard

  • I heard they like to rape kids there

  • @TheJenn68 It is almost the same as your own country. But in the United States they also like to murder people and are not as supportive in helping others

  • @19garfield62 What do you mean by "are not as supportive in helping others?" If the United States wasn't supportive or helpful to others we wouldn't be the country we are today. Yeah many people murder, allover the world, you can't stop or change that, ever.

  • @19garfield62

actually she is refering to the rape trials that included 10% of the population.

and its so trendy to hate the usa. when you are in denial of everything the usa does for the world.. the fact that you own a computer, can power it, have a internet, and have a IP is thanks to the usa.

Its so trendy to hate the USA.

  • @1DigitalFlow I do not hate the US, but I am trying to place her opinion in perspective. If you have never been to a place and start judging it I do not think you have the right to do this. In saying supporting others I am talking about your neighbours, like I am sure happens all over the world in small rural communities but hardly found in big cities

  • @19garfield62 happiness can be found in big cities, it depends on the person.

  • Comment removed

  • @19garfield62 Pretty audacious of you to assert that the U.S, is "not as supportive in helping others" when no other nation in the world donates as much as the U.S. in foreign aid. Not only that, but 2nd place isn't even close.

  • Is there internet on this Island? and I know this is far fetched but what if someone invaded your island

  • @leedaomillz Yes there is internet on the Island.

And if someone invaded the Island they would be at war with England and New Zealand, because it is part of the British oversees territory and governed by New Zealand.

  • I wonder from where do they get a fresh water to drink?

  • @Nightbass89 From the rain that falls troughout the year, this gets into a basin and from there they collect their water

  • these people will not survive in our mainland

  • looks like paradise, out of civilized and modern world, where the clock is useless,...wondering what is the annual climate over..... it looks breezy to me

  • pretty cool

  • Wow. That is breathtaking.

  • Is there any population on Henderson Island??

  • A lot, but nothing human ;-)

It is all wildlife there and nothing else

  • Comment removed

  • that is the country with the least population in the world.

    Pitcairn has got 48 people.

  • there are estimated 50 people in this "country" does that mean u know everybody in your country?

  • The Island is like a little village.

Everybody knows each other. So to answer your question: Yes

  • HI, do they play the world cup qualification?

  • As a matter of fact they do. They are in a league of their own

  • Great view here mate, cheers!!

  • When I was a kid I read the Bounty Trilogy by Nordoff and Hall. The story of Pitcairn fascinated me...it seemed as remote and faraway as Mars.

And now I see video of the place! Thanks for posting.

  • You´re right : )

  • Gotta love Google Earth!

  • Dude i know i didnt even know small islands like this existed. did you know these guys are thousands of miles from civilization, you should hear about there mayor

  • @rocker2267

Yeah, me neither man! Thats why I love google earth, I can see places I never will in life, and I just might get lucky and find a video of it!

  • Takes 30 hours to get there by boat, yuck.

Questions: Why would you want to live there? To get away from civilisation? Because you're rich and you can? Isn't like living Amish? Maybe a little Anarchistic?

  • Answer, because you are a descendant from the Bounty mutineers. And this is the Island they choose to get away from the British naval authorities

So a little Anarchistic; Yes, but 220 years ago in 1789 :-)

  • isnt the population like 50

  • Man, oh, man, I would love to come and visit that Island. It must be super expensive to go there, though. Or am I wrong? Thank you so much for posting these videos!

  • Well staying on the island in home stay is alright; $70 a night including food drinks and laundry. Anyway there are no hotels.

The most expensive part is getting there via Tahiti and the Gambier Islands or from New Zealand. But there are two or three operators and they vary in price and luxury. But no it will never be cheap like going on a beach holiday ;-)

  • Pitcairn is still a British dependant territory and they are subcidised by the British Government.....the population earn some revenue by trading with passing vessels..otherwise there are no jobs on that island..I also would like to visit

  • The one place in the world that I would love to visit

  • I read years ago that when the population was ~48, 6 of the working aged people were jailed for a crime.....it was 30% of the working class, and the island suffered horrible economic strain due to it

  • yea it was there mayor and he raped children

  • @rocker2267

The mayor did what? That is crazy. I wonder do they have a prison? Maybe they govern themselves, and have meetings with the elders of the village to discuss things. This kind of reminds me of that movie "The Village" where everyone is cut off from society. I pray no natural disasters occur, especially with them being a small island in the middle of nowhere. Who could they call on?

  • The British gov actually set up a prison on the island

  • Really? So what are their laws? Are they drastically different from other parts of the world?

  • I'm not sure. I just know the British gov built a prison on the island to house the men convicted of rape on the island

  • I wonder what it would be like living there. Also what kinds of jobs they have there.

  • When I lived there, the main jobs were catered for by lay-people. That is, the dentist, engineer, boatswain...well, that was all one guy ^^

Mostly it was leisurely, grow your own food, make some curios etc.

  • Wow that is sooooo nice... looked at google earht. and found adamstown and WOW that is in middel of relly NOWERE :D:D:D sure i could go there on a holiday but not live there i mean do u guys even have televisons programs or internet :O

  • Yes they have internet and television, satellite you know. And it is really nice, I enjoyed my holiday there very much

  • hehe ok.. well then i guess i could live there:D.. if they got TV and internet :D.. relly awesome that they have that in the middel of nowere :D... maybe i will go there some time :D

  • Live television now? Really! When I was there, (about 16 years ago now) it was only VHS.

  • ooh! I used to live on Pitcairn. Brings back memories *sigh*

  • Very nice!

  • I decided this week to take a virtual journey around the world via the web starting with Pitcairn (from the least pop to the most pop country). Your videos have been such a great find for me in my little endevour. Im saving them to a playlist and have really enjoyed watching. You're so lucky you got to actually go.
