@sam350999 One track mind? The people go of the island for secondary school and University. So the island has new blood by the people marrying of the island and settle back on the island
@bogzasv8ma you don't get out much do you, this is a magical place only accessible by sea so people like you can't get on a plane and go there which is a good thing as you think it is boring. Great place thanks for the vid hasn't changed in 17 years.
Wow hehe so that's like the highest point then .. i was just checking out the population list of wikipedia and I so want to visit places like this one .. how do u spell it ? Peeet Cèrn or peet Càrn ??? Well i guess the population is going to be like 51 Soon lol Peace thxx for uploading the Highest point of pitcirn islands love it
Light Bulb Phonograph Telephone Radio Television Airplane Computer Telegraph Sewing machine Artificial heart Bifocals Cotton gin Refridgerator Water tower Typewritter Camera And the USA is on target to double its foreign aid to $50 Billion a year by 2012
@TheJenn68 It is almost the same as your own country. But in the United States they also like to murder people and are not as supportive in helping others
@19garfield62 What do you mean by "are not as supportive in helping others?" If the United States wasn't supportive or helpful to others we wouldn't be the country we are today. Yeah many people murder, allover the world, you can't stop or change that, ever.
actually she is refering to the rape trials that included 10% of the population.
and its so trendy to hate the usa. when you are in denial of everything the usa does for the world.. the fact that you own a computer, can power it, have a internet, and have a IP is thanks to the usa.
@1DigitalFlow I do not hate the US, but I am trying to place her opinion in perspective. If you have never been to a place and start judging it I do not think you have the right to do this. In saying supporting others I am talking about your neighbours, like I am sure happens all over the world in small rural communities but hardly found in big cities
@19garfield62 Pretty audacious of you to assert that the U.S, is "not as supportive in helping others" when no other nation in the world donates as much as the U.S. in foreign aid. Not only that, but 2nd place isn't even close.
And if someone invaded the Island they would be at war with England and New Zealand, because it is part of the British oversees territory and governed by New Zealand.
looks like paradise, out of civilized and modern world, where the clock is useless,...wondering what is the annual climate over..... it looks breezy to me
Dude i know i didnt even know small islands like this existed. did you know these guys are thousands of miles from civilization, you should hear about there mayor
Questions: Why would you want to live there? To get away from civilisation? Because you're rich and you can? Isn't like living Amish? Maybe a little Anarchistic?
Man, oh, man, I would love to come and visit that Island. It must be super expensive to go there, though. Or am I wrong? Thank you so much for posting these videos!
Well staying on the island in home stay is alright; $70 a night including food drinks and laundry. Anyway there are no hotels.
The most expensive part is getting there via Tahiti and the Gambier Islands or from New Zealand. But there are two or three operators and they vary in price and luxury. But no it will never be cheap like going on a beach holiday ;-)
Pitcairn is still a British dependant territory and they are subcidised by the British Government.....the population earn some revenue by trading with passing vessels..otherwise there are no jobs on that island..I also would like to visit
I read years ago that when the population was ~48, 6 of the working aged people were jailed for a crime.....it was 30% of the working class, and the island suffered horrible economic strain due to it
The mayor did what? That is crazy. I wonder do they have a prison? Maybe they govern themselves, and have meetings with the elders of the village to discuss things. This kind of reminds me of that movie "The Village" where everyone is cut off from society. I pray no natural disasters occur, especially with them being a small island in the middle of nowhere. Who could they call on?
Wow that is sooooo nice... looked at google earht. and found adamstown and WOW that is in middel of relly NOWERE :D:D:D sure i could go there on a holiday but not live there i mean do u guys even have televisons programs or internet :O

And now I see video of the place! Thanks for posting.

Answer, because you are a descendant from the Bounty mutineers. And this is the Island they choose to get away from the British naval authorities
So a little Anarchistic; Yes, but 220 years ago in 1789 :-)

When I lived there, the main jobs were catered for by lay-people. That is, the dentist, engineer, boatswain...well, that was all one guy ^^
Mostly it was leisurely, grow your own food, make some curios etc.
