@TheZimmerman22 I have listened to countless interviews with George in which he describes himself more of an agnostic, stating that atheism is a belief in itself.
@ProudAtheist90 I have listened to countless interviews with George in which he describes himself more of an agnostic, stating that atheism is a belief in itself.
OH YEAH GEORGE CARLIN IS SO REBELLIOUS AND COOL. HES SO SMART, IM GOING TO QUOTE HIM AT LEAST ONCE A DAY SO I SEEM SMARTER. Why don't you all just go suck a dick.
I never comment, in fact, I believe this is a first via youtube, George Carlin is someone I have immense admiration towards, I learned of his comedy from my Mother, being that I am 28, he was around many years before myself. The title of this video, "8th Grade Project", along with the contents itself, really brought a smile to my face, in the sense that younger generations can/are and will appreciate Carlin, even after he has past. <3 Carlin! The Video: Great Job!
To be honest, this makes me want to cry, I hate knowing that there is no longer a George Carlin and I don't think anyone will ever have the balls today to do what he was doing 30+ years ago. He was absolutely irreplaceable. I hope you got an A+ on this project.
@fingerboy18 I beg to differ. I think the humor of it was part of its power. It made his words stick in our minds and fester there, like a tumor the exact shape of Bosnia. If you leave out that little section where the Croatians live.
@icecremer Atheism is such a huge gamble for absolutely nothing in return either way. If you're right, you will NEVER know it, but if I'm right, you'll know FOREVER.
@hooblahking It's not built off of "modern observation," but rather on the observation of fools (Psalm 14:1). You want Tangible proof that the Bible is the inerrant Truth, the Word of God? Watch the Playlist on my channel, "Signature of God," specifically the first video in that playlist.
That very same "observation of fools" that today brings you the computer you type on, the global network that gives you the voice to let people read it, the power grid that keeps it all running, the medical advances to keep you healthy enough to use it, the education that allows you to understand it, etc. etc.
By the way, using the Bible to prove the Bible is circular logic. Erroneous.
Just pointing out holes in your argumentation. No hostility intended here.
@xXNickPXx So you're saying all technological advancements have been made by atheists? What a fool you are, indeed... some yes, but all? No.
I'm not talking about science... but just about atheism. Stay on topic.
And, no, it's not circular logic IF you know how to use it. Using the Bible can become circular logic, but it doesn't have to be. Watch the Playlist on my channel, entitled, "Signature of God" for TANGIBLE proof of the God of the Bible.
No, I'm not saying atheists are the source of all innovation.
The post before you called it modern observation, meaning science, which is what he claimed the atheist position was based on. He did not equate atheism and modern observation, he said atheism used it as a tool. You then called it the observation of fools, thus defining that tool as something useless.
Based on the syntax of those 2 comments, it seemed clear you meant science was a foolish pursuit.
@xXNickPXx No, I never mentioned "science." I was referring to the observation of atheists, AS IN atheists glossing over the world and haphazardly concluding there is no God. What is clear is that I meant atheism is a foolish pursuit... there are many great scientists and innovators who have been either Christian or Atheist.
@Thatzwhatshesaid66 incredible video i grew up on carlin and pryor. George specifically made me think about alot of social issues and made me laugh im happy a kid of your age digs his act man kudos.
@Thatzwhatshesaid66 “Taking LSD was a profound experience, one of the most important things in my life. LSD shows you that there’s another side to the coin, and you can’t remember it when it wears off, but you know it. It reinforced my sense of what was important—creating great things instead of making money, putting things back into the stream of history and of human consciousness as much as I could.”
@StevenMJiggalo 3)carlin also knew that theconsumeristic society cant bring mankind to get along, but that since everybody liked it so much it couldnt be changed, he never tried to change the world, but lennon tried to change something in peoples awareness and thought mankind still has a chance.
@StevenMJiggalo 1) lennon was describing the imagionary ideal world in his song, he knew it couldnt be achieved- but he was still trying to do something for peace, to move people in order to stop wars. how do you suppose he could "work twards his ideal world"?2)carlin always said he is an observerand that he doesnt have a stake in the outcome, but he also said he wouldve liked to see mankind stop the stupid shit they do and get along, but he didnt believe it could be achieved.
@StevenMJiggalo The fuck is your problem? In the song he is describing the ideal world in his view, if we could do with no possessions, but we cant, if there were no religions, but there are, if there was peace, but there isnt, if everyone could live together, but they cant. He wasnt a hypocrite, he was a realist, why should he have gotten rid of all his money?
I thought this was going to be a video about George making fun of 8th grade projects lol....I must say im slightly disappointed :p Its okay though, the song is impossible to be angry at :)
