Dude,hmmm to begin with sweden does have a very good health system.The people run the health care not the government.You don,t have a government employee deciding who gets what and how much.Try and move there,its not going to happen their borders are locked solid.If you have nothing to contribute you don,t get in.We cannot afford people coming into our country with their hands out and contributing less than they receive.Our health care problems would go away if we could control that.

@philchemi Sweden's health care is paid for mostly by taxes. And according to Wikipedia, if I read it right, the government does run it. But just as it is here, the PEOPLE elect the reps who make the decisions. So Yes it is very good system, just what we need here. We ARE the government. Government works if we make it work. The problem here is so few vote and participate, and many that do are low-information voters.

This is simply untrue. I've never heard Rush scream at a caller. I have heard him shut an idiot or 2 off because they weren't making sense. I've heard Rush shout out to his listeners as well, but I have not heard him scream at a caller.

I am a 24/7 member so I have access to his archives...by all means if you have a date/time when you heard him do this- please point me to it and I will listen.

The NFL lost out, btw, not Rush- in my opinion.

I saw that you commented that America is going to "pay dearly for its exploration into socialism". You realize off course that America has been on the fringes of socialism since FDR. In many ways we live in a Socialist country, Welfare, medicare, SOCIAL security, progressive taxation, public universities, environment protection (Including National Parks), all our civil and social liberties. I could go on for quite awhile. I don't we will see any repercussions from socialism ; )

I think there is a difference between being socially responsible as a nation for citizens who are unable to care for themselves (disabled or elderly), and for our natural resources- which includes our children. However, the policies of Socailism which include income re-distibution and excessive taxation IS and will cripple the country by leaching on the financially successful. The repercussions will be in your wallet.

I assume you subscribe to the trickle down theory of economics, but we can both agree the gab between the rich and the poor is horrendous. Poverty is such a vicious cycle in this country, and it is EXTREMELY difficult for someone who grows up in poverty to even become middle class as an adult. I believe in European Socialism that exists in countries like Sweeden, which does not include income re-distribution. I do think that the rich should be taxed until we can build good schools in the Ghetto.

Have you traveled outside of the US? Have you been in China, or Sowetto in South Africa? I have and I have seen poverty first hand- in villages and "shack towns" where there is no running water, and a community ditch- which 20 familes use as a "bathroom". There is nothing like that in the USA.

We live in the greatest country in the world, where opportunity and success only require hard work and dedication to a dream.

Not only have I traveled outside of the U.S., my mom is from Brazil, so yes I do know what poverty outside our country is like. The slums in Brazil are terrible, but have you ever been too a ghetto. Just because poverty in a first world country doesn't compare to that in the third world does not mean we are perfect. The US is still much to filled with inequalities and poverty. I've spoken with Rush several times and found him to be kind, intelligent, warm hearted, and joyful.  I am a woman and sensed no hate from him. His addiction to pain meds from a painful injury is well documented, as is his re-hab and recovery.

He has friends of all colors.
