@mtm1104 If you play the 16th note example which is counted as 1e&a, 2e&a,3e&a,4e&a you play the kick drum as shown in brackets:

(1)e&(a), 2e&(a), 3e(&)a, 4e&a. Sorry it looks clearer if it were highlighted in bold but youtube doesnt have formatting. There is no kick on beat 4, its just hat and snare. Hope that makes sense, slow it right down whilst counting in 16th notes and it should be a lot easier to play.

haha ambroulard if you've ever seen this guy drum you would eat that comment in a second. its an instructional video for beginners, the guy is a music educator it is not his job to wank off onto a camera and then say "play that" go to his website if you want to see him actually break down some challenging things from his clinics these youtube posts are not designed for experienced drummers nor are they a way for him to flaunt his talent.

Lay off they guy...I have given drum lessons before and its no easy task. When a person begins their journey as a drummer they start from nothing and work their way up.
