Somehow the virus hid all of my programs so i cant see ANYTHING! so i cant even access the internet and when i boot my computer the option to choose safe mode does not appear iv followed most guides and can only get up to fixing the registry key however i still cant run any programs nothing happens. what should i do?

ok guize the real way to get rid of it is to if you have malware bytes right click it and click "run as administrator" then full scan when the scan is done you press remove all infections or whatever comes up i haven't got a virus in a loongg time, then restart and Poof it's gone! just like magic. but i could take a while

I didn't have abx.exe either, I only ran the fixregistry and Roguekiller and its working fine now... as he says, you don't need the other programs. they're just other ways of doing it.. But I'm still running Malwarebytes, just to make sure..
@MichaelSeanMyers I didn't have the abx.exe in two seperate occasions when I was getting rid of Win 7, I just keep going through the motion and I managed to get rid of the viruses easily, you should be fine too.
I think that malware such as Win 7 Internet Security (what it came up as for me) is very hypocritical and ironic, saying that you have viruses although the only one is the Win 7 Internet Security itself.

Its strange. I did what someone suggested about changing your date and time to five days ahead and downloaded the links but I reset the date, restarted, and its normal I didn't delete the rogue.

How to delete file: click on recycle bin. Then go to C: Users, your name, appdata, and scroll down until you find a 4 letter program. Hit shift-delete. It'll say it open in another program. Just hit ctr-alt-delete and click task manager, and find the program and make it stop running.

Links usually will not work now for direct downloads because the virus has been updated. You must download on another computer to a thumb drive/CD, then install. Almost everyone can go to a library or a friends house to access another PC.
Also if you kill the process in task manager (it is always a 3 letter name example: brt.exe) you may gain access to the Internet for a while. If you restore your computer the virus is only subdued for a while because it installs its

I got the virus just last night and it completely took over my computer! It pops up like crazy and then it restarts my computer. It wiped out my icons and internet and I don't know how I could remove it now. Is my only solution to take it to the store?
@iiHobox3 You should still beable to restore your system. 1. go to control panel 2. find system restore 3. go through and select any date besides the closest to the current one (EX: Select 12/15/11 over 12/19/11) 4. let it do its thing.
You should be able to use your computer again, though your system still has a virus on it, it is just dormit atm. good luck on getting rid of it

If the distributers of this virus can charge your credit card, there must be some way to track them down - at least to notify the credit card company that this is an illegitimate operation.
I've been attacked by this 6 times in the past 3 days. I've noticed that it usually attacks after my Flash player wants to update, so I uninstalled it. Now Flash is randomly popping up asking to install.. I tried this and I hope it works and the stupid virus stays gone. = V=;;
If you got vista please listen you dont need to download anything i fixed my computer without doing this, go to control panel system and maintenence "back up your computer" click repair windows by using system restore it takes 10 minutes but what it does it goes back from a time frame like yestorday or 5 days back in the present

I just got attacked sometime in the past 24 hrs. One of the registration codes unlocked my computer enough where I can get on here and try to find out how to remove it. Any suggestions. LEGIT please
I have no clue where I got this virus from... probably from reddit.... anyhow, one of the three registration codes worked for me, then was able to download roguekiller, and the virus was gone in minutes. YAY! thanks man, you saved my computer and my sanity.
The direct download trick doesn't seem to work anymore and some of the links posted here do not work but you can find these programs relatively easy on their own. I am fortunate to have access to another computer so I was able to take these files, burn them to a disc and install them on the infected computer. The process definitely works but you may need alternative means of getting the programs to do it.
I used the malwarebytes to get rid of the infection, however now every program that ends in .exe doesnt work, including my antivirus, firefox, games, etc.
@Hodaras Correction, part of the infection still exists. i'm able to run programs if i run it as administrator, and my firewall keeps turning itself off as soon as i turn it on.
@Hodaras Try using system restore after removing the virus. Restart your computer, mash f6 and f8, repair computer, and select the option that allows you to use system restore. If System Restore is shut off though you may have to find a video that teaches you how.

Good vid Brian, but for me, couldn't use my browser to download the fixes. Had to get them on another computer, copy to a thumb drive, and onto the infected computer. In my iteration, the virus was called soj.exe.
I removed the virus, but I still see upl.exe (the virus name) on my taskbar when I click on customize. Now every time when I click on an exe program it sometimes says I need to find a program that can open it.

Links usually will not work now for direct downloads because the virus has been updated. You must download on another computer to a thumb drive/CD, then install. Almost everyone can go to a library or a friends house to access another PC.
Also if you kill the process in task manager (it is always a 3 letter name example: brt.exe) you may gain access to the Internet for a while. If you restore your computer the virus is only subdued for a while because it installs its

everyone who cant get rid of it rkill ur computer and and download norton security suite if u have comcast. Run the scan and it should delete it if not reformat ur drive it deletes every thing if none of that works ur fucked

I got the virus just last night and it completely took over my computer! It pops up like crazy and then it restarts my computer. It wiped out my icons and internet and I don't know how I could remove it now. Is my only solution to take it to the store?

@iiHobox3 You should still beable to restore your system. 1. go to control panel 2. find system restore 3. go through and select any date besides the closest to the current one (EX: Select 12/15/11 over 12/19/11) 4. let it do its thing.
You should be able to use your computer again, though your system still has a virus on it, it is just dormit atm. good luck on getting rid of it

Thank you so much! the virus has attacked my computer twice now, and I was able to remove it both times thanks to this. Although, the second time, I was unable to access my programs without running them as an administrator for a while.

If the distributers of this virus can charge your credit card, there must be some way to track them down - at least to notify the credit card company that this is an illegitimate operation.

I've been attacked by this 6 times in the past 3 days. I've noticed that it usually attacks after my Flash player wants to update, so I uninstalled it. Now Flash is randomly popping up asking to install.. I tried this and I hope it works and the stupid virus stays gone. = V=;;

If you got vista please listen you dont need to download anything i fixed my computer without doing this, go to control panel system and maintenence "back up your computer" click repair windows by using system restore it takes 10 minutes but what it does it goes back from a time frame like yestorday or 5 days back in the present

Thank you so much! It worked only if I downloaded the files off of another computer on to a USB drive and than transferred the files to the infected computer. Now back to digital logic...

I have no clue where I got this virus from... probably from reddit.... anyhow, one of the three registration codes worked for me, then was able to download roguekiller, and the virus was gone in minutes. YAY! thanks man, you saved my computer and my sanity.

The direct download trick doesn't seem to work anymore and some of the links posted here do not work but you can find these programs relatively easy on their own. I am fortunate to have access to another computer so I was able to take these files, burn them to a disc and install them on the infected computer. The process definitely works but you may need alternative means of getting the programs to do it.

I used the malwarebytes to get rid of the infection, however now every program that ends in .exe doesnt work, including my antivirus, firefox, games, etc.

@Hodaras Correction, part of the infection still exists. i'm able to run programs if i run it as administrator, and my firewall keeps turning itself off as soon as i turn it on.

@Hodaras Try using system restore after removing the virus. Restart your computer, mash f6 and f8, repair computer, and select the option that allows you to use system restore. If System Restore is shut off though you may have to find a video that teaches you how.

Good vid Brian, but for me, couldn't use my browser to download the fixes. Had to get them on another computer, copy to a thumb drive, and onto the infected computer. In my iteration, the virus was called soj.exe.

I removed the virus, but I still see upl.exe (the virus name) on my taskbar when I click on customize. Now every time when I click on an exe program it sometimes says I need to find a program that can open it.
