Secondly, no gloves. There isn't a single mma promotion in Japan that doesn't use gloves, that I know of. Yes, it's fake, it's pro-wrestling like WWE here in the States. Everyone watching knew the outcome was predetermined so there is no real deception here. No one said it was an mma match.

I've seen Karate produce some excellent fighters, but this is simply not an example of mma application.

Why is it a fake? It seems real to me. If it is a fake, then it is well scripted and trained.

A knee will work against a takedown, the problem is that your timing needs to be completely exact which isn't easy. Unless you're a huge guy, I'd work on grappling as well.
