@petrilude You would think this would be common sense but people usually only think in terms of what their thoughts are & what they know & not that they arent the only person watching this & there are many different skill levels. You are exactly right, guru's are out there to demonstrate these things. Just gotta ask.
@prestonasmith So true. Don't get me wrong, it's very useful to know the guideline functions of a product, but you can do what you like with them, as long as you get your desired results.
@petrilude I didn't say "mainly", I said "A lot". I also said that I'm not a beginner and that I think it's quite useful. I'm a MUA and I watch a lot of videos online, I think it's a great way to learn from all different kinds of people and it's great for inspiration. I also agree that, asking a MUA from a local counter is so helpful and much better for specific needs. The only reason I commented was because these are supposed to be Quick Tips, not full length tutorials and I find it weird that
A tip for MAC. Start giving original tips and longer videos!! Don't film a busy makeup artist during fashion week all u get is quick tips that don't mean a thing.
i dont like this vid dont show nout set 4 like a few seconds of the product whts the point on puttin it on yt if u dont show using it n get ya roots done
Well, this video is not useful in any way, but I think the point of what she said is that you're not supposed to use a concealer as a foundation, but nothing keeps you from doing that to achieve a particular finish.
what i get is that they/she used STUDIO concealer... by buffing it on the skin into a couple of sheer layer to create a porcelain finish.... Is Studio Finish a brand of makeup??? sorry am all new into the make up world. XD
I understood what she said perfectly, I don't know why people need to see it. "Thin layers, buff it into the skin, build it." I don't know what's so complicated about that!
Great tip.... and those complaining - try it out! Experiment! This is what makeup is about people. Find your own techniques and alter it according to what you see needs to be changed. And besides... it was Paris fashion week. I doubt they would have been able to put the models on show and even find the time to go through step by step and shoot the demo. You could see it was manic back there...
For all of those saying "mainly beginners watch these videos", well so do professionals. Not everyone (beginners included) needs everything broken down step by step... Want to know how to use the product the way it was described? Go ask a MAC artist to demo it on you, this is the point of the video and how a company makes money. No MAC near you? Ask a guru to demo it in a video. All problems solved.
@petrilude i hear that but even if they didnt want to show... they could AT LEAST tell you which brush they were going to use to buff it in to the skin??
@petrilude | I agree. And I think this is indicative of society's current disposition. Everything should not have to be spoon fed to the customer. It's the customer's responsibility to research or ask how to do so. The tip from this video, people, is: "Don't get caught up in what a product should do, because it's all in the way you work it!" This is not a tutorial video, and wasn't supposed to be!
A lot of people that watch these videos are people that are beginners in makeup. I'm not a beginner, but I do think it's quite a useful tip. Instead of just using your concealer for blemishes or dark circles, use it more as you would a foundation. For a porcelain finish. I am surprised that so many people actually pressed dislike.
i dont think these videos are shit they are jsut really really simple tips...i think if people are using mac products that they know basic tips like this please put more complex tips and tricks :)
It's ok, I like MAC so Im no hater at all but seriously, this video is useless /: And also, the studio finish is NOT the 'STROOONGest concealer possible'' AT ALL. It's a very god concealer but come on, no need to overdo, really.
i think what she trying to say is that do not use so much at that it will cake up the conceal area but work it on layer by layer.. letting the layer to be warm up and absorb up the skin. :)
Granted, a demonstration would have been nice, but please don't pretend that you can't work out this technique on your own. Apply Studio Finish Concealer to desired areas using your fingers or a concealer brush. Then simply buff it into the skin using the MAC 180, or anything similar. There you go.
@RoofieOnTheRocks HUGE amount of respect for you with this comment lol I was about to comment the same thing but with a beauty blending sponge technique added as well :D `I'm just so over the youtube drama
@lillerella Dude. These makeup artists are fuckin backstage at a fast-paced fashion show getting paid. They don't have time to stop and please you. Google that shit, if you care so much. They're taking time out of their day to do these videos. Be grateful that an authentic professional is on screen in the first place.
