Sorry Doug, but B# is C an E# is F, just as Fb is E...you do know that ANY note you sharpen is a sharp and any note you flatten is a flat just as a semi-tone up from C# is C## or the natural note D...depending on the Key you are using...rock on good buddy!
How do you do that screamy kinda thing right at the end? I've done kinda harmonic/trem things that sound pretty OK but none of them sound like that! :S
Anyone smart enough to type into a fucking comment box can figure out that by saying "E# and B# don't exist" what he means is THEY ARE ALREADY NAMED DIFFERENT NOTES (stop acting pretentious and pretend we're in C natural, Doug never said shit about C sharp).
"They are enharmonic equivalents" WOAH, really? WHO KNEW? Captain fuckin obvious...
Doug, you're an amazing shredder and you sure have some damn charisma. I say, keep shredding. Fuck YouTube.
first of all, the E# and B# don't exist; B# would just be C, so you would just say C...
second, you said "i think i revolutionized music because i found an e# and a b#" but you just said that you saw it on a C# scale, so you didn't really invent/discover/revolutionize anything...
is this still going on? it dont matter bet b# and e# do exist in the c# major scale you cannot have c and c# because you cant have to notes with the same name therefore you have b# and c#
see...buddy underneath has it. where is it?....b# is the third fret on the a string. same as c same as cflat, same as d double flat. they have different names for the same fret...and to say there is no such thing b# is completely absoulutely wrong. and no i didn't invent it...but had there been no such thing, i wouldve...but the video is just wrong thats all
yeah, all dean guitars are pieces of shit. they all give you very shitty tone. i have the bodies, inlays, and head stocks of dean guitars too. dean guitars ftw. fenders ftw.
this video is supposed to be like a trailer, just showing some bits and pieces of what the video's will look and sound like with Doug teaching. there are 2 full lessons available free from the site, and soon enough we will have a free course available via a series of email links. so stay tuned for the next couple of months for those.
well i am sorry for not knowing that technique was all you cared about man. I just felt that if your going to give a lesson you shouldn't tell people inaccurate things. It doesn't really matter though. i was just tellin you cause I thought you might want more musical knowledge.
then you say "dude just get on with it" and then just warn about how it's possible to break strings.
I'm not doubting your ability as a teacher or guitarist. It's just I don't get the significance of telling me how those notes are neighbours. You haven't stated a scale that you'll be working from. Is this a small section of a greater video or what?
Yeah I get you. Though how is it possibly to understand what you mean without any context. I mean this honestly without any intent of sarcasm. What was I meant to have learnt from that small section?
If this is some form of promo taster vid for your site, wouldn't it be better to create one that teaches one small aspect especially for youtube, rather than take a small section from the compilation without its original context?
You shouldn't have worried about my original comment to begin with anyway. To be honest I had forgotten I even sent it.
I've watched the original cut of your video on the site, and I got to say it's great. How you talk about the "You've gone from A to A". That full video is what you need on the site reasons being
a) you do learn a segment of info
b) It's in its full context
c) You get a full sense of you as a easy going teacher
Yeah so if you post the full video onto Youtube, your gaining by having a complete segment to hook people into wanting them to seek further knowledge from you by visting the site.
The editing in this video from the original is so wird. Not only has Youtube video version edited out the bits before and after the original but segments inbetween your dialogue after.
Sorry Doug, but B# is C an E# is F, just as Fb is E...you do know that ANY note you sharpen is a sharp and any note you flatten is a flat just as a semi-tone up from C# is C## or the natural note D...depending on the Key you are using...rock on good buddy!

"you're the definition of dumb.
first of all, the E# and B# don't exist"
Wrong. They are enharmonic equivalents, but you'll find plenty of pieces of classical sheet music with an E# or Cb etc...
largemoose 2 years ago 7
why did you put ''you're the definition of dumb'' in the quotation marks?
he never said that himself.
also, he's not teaching classical music.
I will agree though that it's a pretty shit video, I didn't learn anything from it.

I think deans are pretty cool, they can give you a great tone, even though there not my most favorite, it's still a pretty good guitar.

just pointing out there is an e# and a b#
forboon44 2 years ago
Well then you tell everyone what note on the piano is that, and what fret of what string on guitar? lol
Because if you're lookin at a piano, what black key is after E? None. It's C, C#, D, D#, E, FFFFFFFFFFFF, F#, G, G#, A, A#, B, CCCCCCCCCCCC
So where is your proof?
zztoproadster 2 years ago
look up the notes on a c# major scale there numb nuts

Also if your a teacher, you should have been curious to ask "Why didn't you get it?" or "Divulge..."etc.
If I was abusive or swear fair enough for your comment, but instead it just came across immature

I didn't edit it, and i don't care. This is why I hate comments, I don't want to argue or justify why shit's been done a certain way.
Just say I suck and move on. I'll get this all removed anyway.
