Spelling and grammar are incredibly important when making a first impression. Personally, I am very put off by a profile that is written in text-speak or has a lot of errors in it. That said, in today's multi-platform environment, you can't assume people are sending messages whilst sitting at a computer with a fully functioning keyboard so a certain amount of leeway should be afforded - even the smartest of smart phones still make it fairly difficult to construct properly formatted sentences.
@KrisYoung1980 How does one know, if a profile was written by the person, or a third party? This is why I revolt against the whole online dating thing..Ohhh I'm sorry is online a word or a word with a hypen..I get so cpnfused at moments..even being a graduate student at John's Hopkins....
