Gen 49:25 indicates Shaddai may be related to the word for breasts (shadaim), indicating sufficiency and nourishment. In this case, the Name might derive from the contraction of sha ("who") and dai ("enough") to indicate God's complete sufficiency to nurture the fledgling nation into fruitfulness. God uses El Shaddai when He refers to multiplying Abraham's offspring (Gen. 17:2)
El - derived from the Ugaritic term for god. (root word meaning "might, strength, power"). The true God of Israel is almost always qualified by additional wordsthat further define the meaning that distinguishes Him from false gods.
Shad - means "breast" in Hebrew.
Translators of the Septuagint thought Shaddai came from a root verb "shadad" (means "to overpower" or "to destroy").
Latin Vulgate translated Shaddai as "Omnipotens". (continued)
Everything in Paul Young's book was a stretch for many people. Why? Because it shows that we can't put God in a box. God is bigger than that. We can never understand God, but we can strive to live our lives with God inside. We can have that intimate relationship with a loving God. God's grace is sufficient for everyone.
I think the lady is forgetting a very important fact. God is anything He wants to be! God created man in God's image, and woman was created from man, therefore she was also created in God's image. We are getting too hung up on what God looks like. He doesn't look like man or woman. He is more than that. We can't understand because our minds are not God's minds. God is so much bigger than anything we know or understand, and yes God can be different to different people.
This man is a false teacher and he don't know God. God is Dan 7:9I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
Paul did this to challenge the image we have of God.. Religion has portrayed God to be male because it was written in a paternalistic environment which is lead by men and is oppressive to woman. Hence it would not be sensible to look at God as a woman if man are supposed to be above them. Secondly many people have taken the image of God from what their fathers are like which give a very wrong image of God. This is what Paul is challenging and Papa even explains this in the book.
I would answer, that if he says something about himself in his word (the bible), I would be very very carefull to change this, just to make a point or to write a book.
Is he confined by his revelation by the bible? No.
She doesn't get it at all!! She keeps saying that God is a male and He is not. He is spirit! Male and female are made in his image. Male and female are reflected in the nature and character of God, but He is spirit. She is wrestling with her own ideas of who God is in her mind. Nothing wrong with that at all, but you can't say Paul is wrong for using imagery in that way.
God gave a structure for the lifes of men and women. He installed the role models.
He said who is to lead and who is responsible and so on and so forth.
God never describes himself as a women, all he did in his word is to describe himself by using some female attributes.
This is why Paul is wrong. He makes up images of God that don´t reflect images that come from his word. This is the blasphemy and big problem with this book, next to several other heresies.

"Hi I was raped and abused by my mother and I think god is a male"
Do I need a psychology degree to figure that out?

Would you say the God is confined to what is written in the Bible?

I would answer, that if he says something about himself in his word (the bible), I would be very very carefull to change this, just to make a point or to write a book.
Is he confined by his revelation by the bible? No.
Is he constant and reliable in what he says? Yes

yes God is a spirit, but he describes himself as Man throughout the bible.
The social and religious life of mankind has a structure with different roles and responsibilities for men and women from off creation.
So also from this point of view it IS relevant if we proclaim God as male or female.

I have to admit, I don't undestand what you are saying. If you don't mind, pease explain again.
