@albokatxo yes its very nice in the summer. ok its not a big town, but there is plenty to do. And if you need a big town there is exeter down the road etc, and london is just a train ride away. I am no longer living in totnes. I have moved on. But i had good times.

I was born and raised in Totnes, but moved away when I was in my teens, back in the early 80s. When I returned a few years back, I was dismayed at what I found. I guess it's alright now if you're a well-off middle-class hippy from Putney or somewhere. But most of the local culture, and a great number of the local people, have gone. I hardly heard a local voice anywhere. I felt like a stranger in my own town.

The castle pub,damn good place to get a skinfull! Totnes is a lovely town full of creative interesting

yeah but after a while you realise there all on the dole sponge-ers, and they just spend all their lives in totnes thinking their enlightened. Towns full of bullshitters mate. Castle is probably best pub though. Wouldnt call totnes lovely on a friday/saturday night. Chav-a-licious.
