  • im opposite ill take my ar over my ak i just like it better and its ....easier to manipulate tier 1 ar with good mags wont double feed...mine hasnt

  • @rtrtrt91 lol you have obviously never fired a weapon before or even been near a weapon being fired. Getting your education from bruckheimer films doesn't cut it

  • @n3xusunit COD is the best place to learn because nobody has enough money to test all those weapons side by side. In COD everyone can test them.

  • @sk8tafrnk are you being sarcastic if your not, then your a complete dumbass

  • if your ar was set at 300 yards wouldnt it shoot a lower instead of higher?

  • @edenjonesss No, using the standard old style Army 300 meter zero the bullet impact will be very high at 100 and 200 meters(7-9"). This is why myself and the United States Navy Seals use the 50/200 meter zero, dead on at 50 is very close to dead on at 200. Close enough for govt work and you don't have that 9" high impact at 100.

  • Don't want to be a jerk, but the AK sights were probably set to 100 meters instead of yards (it's european). Hence the raise too. Just saying :)

  • @MrFudoken You are not being a jerk at all. Good observation. You can set your rear sight at 100 and just adjust your point of impact to where ever you desire by the front sight post. i have mine set so I do not need to move my rear and can be right on at 200 and have only minimal drop at 300 that I can hold over for. If I want to be dead on at 100 I just turn my front sight post 1/3 of a revolution. I only do this once in a while, last time was to do the oreo cookie shoot at 100.

  • @MrFudoken If you fired a group at 100 meters and 109 yards I don't think the bullet will impact any differently. 100 meters is 109 yards.

  • Would be interesting to see a test done after zero on the AK and AR for the test range. Than have each one fired from one of those fixed in place rests to remove the variables of human error and such. Using comparable ammunition match grade if you will. And with relatively similar characteristics as in barrel length and condition of the rifles. Would be some great tests after removing the variables ;)

  • @ThePopeAndy except if shit hits the fan, whose gonna remove human variables? Its the 223/556 round. the exact same thing happens to me at the range. i have both weapon systems. but if you notice the grouping on the AR, really small. thats a good thing.

  • @fasttac2 Yeah the AR is definitely a precision weapon. Interestingly enough though a friend of mine at a shooting class was the only one with an AK around 10 others with AR's many with the advanced optics such as EOtech and so on. Anyway the AK actually consistently had tighter groups all day. This wasn't bench shooting this was in exercises for urban combat scenarios and so on. My guess is it was shooter error on their part or inexperience. Just noting what happened may not mean much though ;)

  • @ThePopeAndy I've had 17 AR15s(14Colt brand and 3 other brands) over the last 18 years and I've had 5 stoppages ever, maybe I just know how to buy a good one and add the lube the correct way. Using shit ammo like wolf will get you jams, 3 of my stoppages were using dogshit wolf ammo.

  • @semiautoriflelover Hah yeah Wolf ammo will only work well in certain guns. From what I've seen a 1911 will eat wolf ammo and the AKM's eat wolf ammo just fine but they aren't picky. I have no clue what those guys were using ammo wise but my buddy had been using wolf ammo in his AR and saw problems. But also saw problems with brass cased ammo too. Personally I don't have much experience using AR's I've shot them a few times never owned one. I do hear Colt is amazing when it comes to AR's though.

  • @ThePopeAndy AR15s are very reliable, not to be confused with full auto M16s. if you use good magazines and actually know where to place the lube or oil they will run a long time without cleaning. The edge goes to the good AKs though because they will run any ammo. Colt AR15s are much better than most, the barrels and bolts are military spec, very tough. I see guys all the time using no lube or putting it in the wrong places, they won't run long dry using cheap mags.

  • @fasttac2 There's quite a lot of things I really like about the AR's though as an AK owner and why I'll also be getting an AR in the next few months. I really love how the AR operates how much faster/easier/more consistent reloading is. The customization as in calibers and so on. The accuracy and less muzzle climb with the .223/5.56 so one can stay on target easier.

They are both awesome weapon systems really if one has the option why choose to have both is amazing.

  • @ThePopeAndy I thought you didn't like AR15s because you said you were at a gun range and they jammed up every other round?Maybe those shooters had the barrel on backwards?

  • When you aimed with the AK74 did you aim dead center? Just on the circle, or below circle?

  • @semiautoriflelover I held front sight post center of orange circle dot. This is with the sights adjusted to shoot -0- @ 200 when the rear sight is left on the 100 mark.

  • @semiautoriflelover The Ar's sight is adjusted for 300 yard battle zero. For general shooing use I find this unusable. Sight was set per owners request.

  • @jetfuel545 Now you know why I set my AR sight up with the revised santose battle zero which gives clicks for 100 and 200 yards.

  • @semiautoriflelover Absolutely. That was a very informative video you made.

  • @semiautoriflelover My first Ar I had owned i attempted to zero the rifle at 100 with the rear set at the closest range of 300. I had to raise my front sight post up so much it nearly fell out. I quickly learned the mistake I had made.

  • @jetfuel545 There is so much confusing info on iron sights and how to zero, in fact I asked 20 former military personal and not one single one could remember how they zeroed their M16(A2). To this day my friend still asks me why I adjust front sight post while zeroing AR15A2 instead of just rear sight and he was in Marines. Then after you zero they set the sights back to the "mechanical zero" and have you use a tight sling which throws shots off. I'm glad they use Acogs and red dots now.

  • @semiautoriflelover I think their is a belief in the military that a soldier is incompetent and unable to be trusted to make adj to their rifles. I have had many of the same experiences with former military personal. This past year I was able to watch some soldiers from my local National Guard at the local gun range. They were their for a two day exercise on marksmanship and weapons maintenance. It was appalling to see how they were treated as mindless robots.

  • @jetfuel545 Did you know that I read an interview with Soviet soldiers during the Afghan war and they never touched the sights on their AK74s, the Amory zeroed them and you learned how to shoot with them the way they were. I could never be apart of a military force, I wouldn't want retards telling me how to shoot using techniques from the 1930s.

  • @semiautoriflelover I think a lot of foreign militaries do this. A lot of the surplus bolt guns I have owned had their sights like this. And many of them are not adj like the mosin nagant's, mausers, If you want to change your elevation you need to change out your front post and file till you are zero. I had to do this with my K98. I was shooting high so I was lucky enough to find a tall front sight post, and I just filed until i was zero. With the russian mosins you have no option

  • @jetfuel545 But that is how you do it these days, having the impact 2 feet high at 100 is perfect for navy seal action, great for head shots.

  • @semiautoriflelover I like how none of these guys with the surplus rifle ever talk about how much the sights are off. i have never had one that was dead on, ever. and i have owned 6 different ones. The closest one I have had has been 6" off at 100. The furthest has been 2 feet. And they say well try a different ammo. Is that really the best and perferred option? I dont think so, but who am I. I just like hitting what I aim at. Not just hearing the gun go boom, lol

  • @jetfuel545 90% of people just like to hear the boom.

  • @semiautoriflelover It was funny the first time i heard that was from a gun shop owner. I was so shocked I looked at him like are you serious. he was right though, you see it every time you go to the range. especially with guys shooting AK's. they are so amused by the fact they are shooting an AK all they care about is hearing the thing go off. I love the guys who rollin and dont even set up a target. they just shoot into the berm rapid fire. I have seen that so many times

  • @jetfuel545 that happened to me the second round and first time at a gun range with my AR15, an AK guy showed up and make some rude comments about my AR15 then he keeled down right next to me to try to intimidate me and he started shooting into the dirt, actually it was funny because he had a jam with his AK. He was wearing sweat pants and a headband, he looked like a fool.

  • @semiautoriflelover AKs will jam, sure. The difference is clearing an AK jam is miles easier than clearing an AR jam can be. Pop off the dust cover and everything is right there to pry away at. ARs can get awful feed failures where they jam up so bad the bolt won't move at all and you can't even separate the upper and lower without tools, a bench, and a lot of time.

I've had both, I prefer the AK. I can hit steel torso targets all day at 100 yards with crap ammo unsupported...good enough.

  • @aluisious I wouldn't know about AR15 jams, I've only had 4 ever, 3 with wolf ammo and 1 with a popped primer with federal junk ammo. My VZ58 is easy to clear a jam because the ejection port is huge and all open at the top.

  • @aluisious

    i have an AK

what is this "jam" that you talk about? :)

  • @Polenar I have no idea. I own a MINI 14 TAC.

  • @semiautoriflelover it did not leave me feeling secure about the proficiency of their skills. They only shot at 25 and 100 yards and were given almost none individual instruction.

  • Bro, Nice AK looks like you "lucked out" with a damn good Romainan.

Very nice AR too. I would love to have either. (all I have is a damn sks lol, but I am looking into purchasing an AK-74 er two with about 4000 rounds and mags, with the 2.5k ive been saving for an AR :P)

  • @YeahButNoSoYeahNo That Sks is a fine rifle. Simple, effective, and durable. Stock up on stripper clips and practice and you will be good to go.

The AK and AR are both great rifles. I like both of them, and realize that they both have pro's and con's. Although I believe the most important factor with any firearm is the shooter.

Just choose the one you prefer and can afford to practice with. Good luck, and thanks for the comment

  • but the ar 15 will blow up in ur face

  • @Rangerleadtheway44 O yes, they are time bombs!!!

  • @jetfuel545 talkin about reliability..... are is really unreliable and cant handle most conditions...ak on the other hand is a tough gun to break

  • Can you do 300 yards tomorrow? I'm going to try 200 with pistol tomorrow. I will need a big target to see where I am missing. I ordered a steel plate gong for better videos so you can hear hits.

  • @semiautoriflelover I am hoping to do so. The weather has not been cooperative here the past week. Rain, rain and more rain, then gusty heavy winds but its looking good this weekend, I cant wait to get out.

  • @jetfuel545 Even if it rains tomorrow I'm shooting the AK47. Indoor pistol range tomorrow.

  • cool vid man!

  • @ryanjcus Thanks Ryan, 300 yard will be done next time at the range. Hope it goes well.

  • Nice comparison.

  • @UrbanTiger74 Thank you sir

  • @jetfuel545 Not much of a difference either.

  • I can't wait to see the 300 yard video.

  • @semiautoriflelover My tacticool buddy had me zero his AR for him. He wanted the battle zero so he could just hold center mass and mow down the zombies, lol
