Her lines are MAGNIFICENT, very balletic, her passes are exquisite - it's just a beautiful piece! Always makes me feel overwhelmed. What were the judges looking for I wonder....

  • im guessing that screamng was for when carly patterson landed her dismount off the beam because anna was on foor when that happened

  • @MrAerial12345 get your facts corrects before you say anything. the 'Chinese girl' was Zhang Nan

  • @MrAerial12345 it's weird that she won a gold medal for bars in 2000 at the junior european finals i think

  • Yep, always so undermarked. She's amazing.

  • In my heart Anna will always be the 2004 Olympic AA, BB, and FX Champion! :D

  • Great form on the full-in

  • I think I have loved ALL of Anna's floor routines.....truly beautiful, as always, from start to finish. Hope to see her in London '12!

  • I can never get my landings right after tumbling

  • beautiful landing on the first pass!!

  • i dont like the ending other than that it was good

  • That Gogean, third pass, and the landing on the double pike should have incurred more than 0.4 in deductions.

  • I remember seeing this at the olympics and being amazed from start to finish... Anna put so much concentration and hard work into this routine that it's almost like one was there in person cheering her on.

When she finished the routine, she looked so excited but spent... not surprising at all. I would've given her a great big hug and a nice pat on the behind for a job well done.

  • Nice job I think she was really good!!!

  • I don't think anna was underscored here, zhang nan was just overscored.

  • What exactly do the judges look for aside from if you fall over or stumble a bit from a landing? Cos to me she didn't make a mistake

  • Hate the crowd roar with Carly. Disgraceful that they're watching her and not Anna. I love how she sticks both this and her 2008 AA opening pass on floor. She's gorgeous. So glad she's the silver medalist at Russian Championships although she deserves better. Anna, continue til 2012! We beg and love you!

  • Perfect! she was perfect!

  • So sad :(

Anna peaked right at the worst time for her style of gymnastics

Had she been around early 1990s or earlier she would dominate, had this floor been competed at the last 2 WCs she probably could have won gold. Such a shame :(

  • @sus611611 Hell I will take it a step further..should have been around a 9.8...she stuck almost all her landings. Her cero matched the music and she wasn't robo like patterson who got a higher score on the floor. She should have gotten a 9.8 hands down

  • So robbed!

  • Love the crowd roar at 1:09 when Carly stuck her double arabian in the background.

  • @slightlyshattered that's what i thought it was :) she had an amazingg routine also

  • Jackpot!

  • This routine should have gotten over 9.8! So difficult, so beautiful! She was robbed of an all around medal here!

  • What a gorgeous routine!!

    Beautiful work on floor.

  • She a Soviet of the 21st Century :)

    Wonderful performance.

  • @pancakechoukii Its called Wintersun by Bond.

  • @billabongroxursox Alexei Yagudin used this music in 2002 olympics...

  • o my gosh that last pass was amazing

  • She's always undersored. :(

  • She always seems to perform the best floor of the competition during her all round competiton, even in 2008 she did.

  • How about a 9.712 instead of 9.612....? =P

This is one of the most gorgeous floors ever.. I keep watching it time and again

  • she desirves the brons !

  • Best full-in (tuck) I've ever seen. Most of the tome the gymnast's legs are slightly apart or one on front of the other. Love you Pavlova!

  • 4th place in the all-around (by 0.025 of a point and was robbed in many peoples' opinions) but she had the 2nd highest floor score which was 9.612 though unfortunately did not qualify for floor finals only scoring 9.4.

  • Best floor.

    Love her music

  • waaaaou 1min03 I love it!!!

  • She deserved silver in the AA. I would have personally given her the gold for superior artistry to Patterson.

  • Pavlovas quite a fashion statement, shes probraly one of the main reasons the FIG looked at the "juging fiasco" in athens or whatever.

  • Wuz robbed of an AA medal! Her tumbling isn't just technically great, she's beautiful to watch also.

  • she is such a good gymnast and I feel like she should have taken bronze in the alround and should have place on beam

  • carly patterson was on beam during the routine funny

  • yes she was!

and if u see the routine of carly on beam it hears the music of anna :D

  • I know its so weird lol

  • yea it is

  • LOVE THE SONG

    LOVE THE ROUTINE

    LOVE ANNA PAVOLA

But she is ALWAYS undermarked!!! Damn those bloody judges!!!

  • @sidthesquid74

Gymnastics has a LOT od deductions

  • the eotard def. goes with the music

  • It was out of a ten yes. What did you think her score should have been? I think either in the high 9.6's or low 9.7's.

  • Well, in the very end of this video Pavlova's results from 3 apparatus is shown, for floor she received 9.612, I think she deserved "higher" 9.6 too

  • Anna is such a fabulous gymnast! She deserved so much more than her two bronze medals in Athens. Her expression, perfect form and excellent technique on her tumbling make her a champion in the standard of the former Soviet gymnastics greats. And what lovely music she chose for this routine!

  • I completely agree. I always enjoyed watching Anna more than Svetlana. Svetlana was a beautiful gymnast, but you're right - she was scored higher than she deserved just because of her name.

  • wow she was great!

  • i know, i felt bad for her after vault, and then she had to go right away into fx. i think if they had done the usual format with event finals maybe she wouldve medaled on floor

  • In the all around she competed on floor third and vault last.

  • I think mistybabe is making reference to what happened in Beijing. =(

  • Oh yes I think you're right.

What happened in Beijing was SO sad! It made me feel like crying...

  • I wonder whether not having her mother there as coach helped or hindered her...That mistake on vault was unbelievable is so frustrating to watch.

  • in my opinion anna was underscored and svetlana was overscored because of her name !!!

carly was great on beam and floor !

her 1 st place on this day was correct.

  • Not just a perfect landing, her legs were together in tucked position! OMG!

  • OMG!! That first pass perfect landing!!

  • yeah right....

and why judges didn´t leave room for Smenova this year uh??

  • She wasn't underscored, Khorkina and Zhang got huge gifts

I'd actually have the podium a bit different

with Pavlova 2nd, Zhang 3rd, and Khorkina 4th, that beam routine from Khorkina was riddled with wobbles and errors

I wanted her to win but the judges REALLY wanted her to win

  • I have to agree! Anna's scores were OK, but Patterson was overscored on 3 out of 4 events, as were Khorkina and Nan Zhang, which is pretty much the rule; the judges seem to notice Anna's mistakes but tend to overlook the ones of the others.

  • I think Patterson was over-scored on bars. 1 release?

But her beam routine was scored right, if anything could have been a tab higher I think. Her floor routine was very unappealing but the tumbling was executed well. And vault could have been a little lower, but I think she deserved the gold.

Khorkina got the biggest gift of all on beam though.

In my dream podium she wouldn't have medaled.

  • Carly had huge gifts as well..the only place where Svetlana got a gift was on bars...but she was very underscored in her vault..the most diffucult vault of the night performed better than in the prelims and she got a 9.476(or something like that) wth was that??

if the judhes "REALLY" wanted her to win they wouldn´t have given such low and undeserved score in vault and they shouldn´t have given Carly such big scores..theOlympic champion only had 1 release in her bars routine..woohoo..please!

  • I know, watching that routine I really really don't understand how she didn't come away with a medal of some sort :/

    Even a bronze.

And I thought Pavlova should've had the AA Bronze :/

    Oh well.

  • great tumbling but her dance and her split leap, jump, choreography are not enough good to improve her score...

  • That was one of the best routines I've seen

  • I mean, that song version, please, I feel happy when I listen to it

  • Yeah, we know she is georgous alreday, but what I still do not know is the name of the song, I know is from Bond, but where do I get it?

please, somebody helps me per carità

  • The song title is "Winter" from the album "Born"

  • The song is "Wintersun" by Bond.

  • amazing <3

  • very true

  • PAUSE AT :22! hi carly

  • i used to be so confused at how the judges would get the score up so fast after a routine like this one, but then i realize that it was a recording..tee hee

  • Pavlova is a great gymnast

    *-*

    love her

  • wow... what an expression she knew and she felt how to express herself, impressive

  • when she went into that second pass i htink i saw carly or courtney on beam. I LOVE IT WHEN GYMNAST STICK LIKE THAT!

  • i like how she sticks her firts pass. do you notice the russians music is simular? nice triple full.

  • what was the big roar at 1:09?

  • It was Carly Patterson landing and sticking her Arabian double front dismount on beam.

  • of course

  • Her beam was perfect, no question about that! Her floor, though, was not. She landed every single tumbling pass with a tiny hop. And even if she hadn't, Anna's routine was better in terms of execution and artistry and a score of 9.612 was way too low. Carly's choreography was, of course, non existent...

  • o wait yah! cuz this is the music during her routine. durr

  • UNEQUIVOCALLY Anna Pavlova was the 2004 Olympic AA Champion! All her routines were underscored in this competition. Compared to other routines and scores, this FX deserved at least a 9.775!

Anna was exquisite technically and enthralling artistically. Her routines were difficult, innovative and captivating. She was superb.

At the 2004 Olympics the REAL AA winners did not walk away with the gold in the men's and women's competitions.

  • i think pavlova shud of got bronze replacing zang nan ..

  • What was her score? I liked this better than Khorkina's, really.

  • 9.612

  • wtf?

  • BTW, anyone know this music?

  • Wintersun - Bond

  • Thanks!

  • She was definitely one of the underdogs in this competition. She has the skills and grace in this particular routine - much more balance than some of the "top" gymnasts in this particular competition. Great tumbling and great style here. I like the third pass! Very nice.

  • beautiful second pass and ending pose. triple twist wasnt it? i think that was better than any triple alicia sacramone could throw

  • i dont like carlys floor routine. but she did perform the floor routine as good as it can get which gave her the 9.7 even if she got like .2 less if the thousandths were high enough she still would have won. i think carly deserved it.

  • I agree...The americans did score very highly...this deserved better

  • Oh shut up!!, Carly's got the gold...lol...Go Carly!!!

  • She was underscored and Zhang Nan was overscored, she was not fluid on beam or bars, compared to Anna.

Carly won it on the beam but she was overscored on the floor and she is the first AA in my memory that won it was a horrible floor routine. Raducan,Podkapova,Gutsu, Shushunova, Retton and Comenci all had floor routines that were special. Carly had great tumbling and terrible choerography. Kozich, Cheng Fei, Ponor and Pavlova all had beautiful floor routines.

  • If I remember correctly, she was really under-scored on uneven bars even though she performed almost flawlessly.

  • Totally agree! I hated the whole gymnastics competition since day one, even though it took place in my home city. What were the judges thinking? So many gymnasts were robbed and, unfortunately, Anna was one of them. American gymnasts always seemed to get high scores, hadn't made any serious mistakes. Was that merely a coincidence? I really hope Russia could return on top of the world!

  • She was so underscored! Carly Patterson did a small combination floor and got 9,7 they stole it! the Athens 04 sucks!

  • Same in Rhythmic Gymnastic from Athens! The best gymnast was underscored so much! And that is was and will be sadly ;(

  • So who do you think should have won in the rhythmic gymnastics?

  • I think Kabaeva was overscored

She is very good gymnast but in Athens she made more mistakes than Tchachina

I think Anna Bessonova or others were underscored too

    That's my opinion

  • Russians, always the best in gymnastics of course!

  • Wish she would have placed. I acually think she did better than Khorkina. She did all her routines perfectly. Dont know how she got all of those low scores. Maybe she didnt fulfill some requirements???

  • I love this routine!!!

  • Great routine!!! Visit my profile and watch more gymnastics videos...

  • SHIT, THAT SMALL GIRL FLIES SO HIGH IN THE AIR!!!

  • The Music was the Best part

Wintersun by Bond is my Favorite song!
