335i produces actually about 350hp stock according to dynos. BMW underrated the 335i, they didn't want the 335i to be in a hp race with the m3, since the 335i already makes more torque stock than the V8 M3.

That's fast! I own a 2009 Passat 2.0T and is only limited to 130mph, I haven't tested it yet. The fastest I driven myself and my wife was about 100 mph because I acciedently put it in S mode. I was scared when my wife told me to slow down and you don't even feel it. That's a sign that the car is good. Same thing in the 328xi Bimmer , except it wa a stick and I was late for the endocronologist. You don't feel 80 mph at all, and it's a stick yet!

Could someone PLEASE explain to me how a 2008 technology 3.0L engine with 10.2:1 compression and a twin turbo setup only makes a mere 300HP? I mean 1989 technology put 300ZX's at 300HP and they are 8.0:1 Comp. on 9.5psi. What is stock boost on the 335i, and is it easy to bump up the power on these cars?

The boost on the 335i is about 8.8psi stock and it has a small turbo and a medium turbo. All I know is that with a chip (which can safely push the boost to about 15psi, this monster will be pumping out about 400+hp)

The N54 powerband is wider, the fuel economy better, and it passes modern emission standards. From an engineering perspective it is relatively easy to make 500whp+ from a 3L turbo, but very hard to do it while meeting driveability, economy and emission requirements. The praise for this engine comes from the way it is setup, rather than from BMW-specific engineering knowhow. I wouldn't be surprised to see Nissan return to turbocharging in a similar way soon for emissions, economy and power.
