  • If you can, could you please upload the song "Love Runs Hot" by EYE EYE?

  • @cybercat29 Sorry but there is no video for that track, the only videos the band made are the 4 that I've posted. Their second album Common Ground is available on iTunes, it has been changed to add two tracks from the first record, "X-Ray Eyes" and "Out on a Limb" The band's first album was never released on CD, only tape and vinyl so the tracks have been harder to come by. Even Bill the band's frontman doesn't have digital copies of the first record, trust me I've asked.

  • I still have that cassette.

  • Holly Sh-- ... NEVER thought I'd hear this again! KUDOS!!

  • I believe it was EYE EYE that opened for Platinum Blonde's Alien Shores tour. PB came to Fredericton twice, once at beginning abnd another time at the end of the tour. EYE EYE opened for one of them I believe (long time ago). Anyone remember New Regime? They opened for Glass Tiger here in Fredericton (again if I remember correctly).

  • Why doesn't this video have as many views as it deserves?

  • I was a big fan and still have a set of drumsticks from Mark Caporal that he handed me after a gig at The Ontario Place Forum back in the 80s. Good times :)

  • GREAT NEWS FOLKS. FOUND EYE EYE Common Ground on i Tunes store for $9.99 . Been looking for years and finally found it.

  • I got an original CD copy of 'Common Ground' from when it was released back in the 80s

  • Holy crap, I never thought I'd hear this band again. I had their cassette in the late 80's and LOVED IT. I lost it and was never able to find it anywhere. Cool to see it again.

  • @DanMoncton I still got 2 cassettes from the band "Eye Eye". I would love to get the CD version of them. Is there a way to copy the casettes onto CDs?

  • @cybercat29 You can easily convert them to digital, just need a tape deck and an adapter to run the outputs into a PC, you can buy cheap decks that are made specifically for the purpose. Last I remember Bill telling me, the albums are available on iTunes Canada also.

  • Sadly, this song NEVER got any airplay on the radio in Vancouver, I saw the video on Video Hits, and I the only way I could hear it on the radio was by listening to AM 106 out of Calgary. All the bands mentioned in the comments were what made AM radio great in the 80's.

  • @mimoscorpse Thank you! I was trying to remember what the big radio station in Calgary was in the mid 80s... AM 106, which is where I also heard Eye Eye's "Endless Night"... (Still, I think in rerospect, I preferred LG73 and KJR.)

  • Great track! I was 10 when it caught my ear!Like this song better than "Out On A Limb". Too bad they lost a member :( A real 80's classic, for sure!

  • Anyone know where one could get X Ray Eyes on MP3 or CD?

  • hey my dad was in this hes guitar any one need songs just ask i ahve em all

  • hahaha, hey! It's my uncle Doug on bass. :D

  • @rhaldane what he become today?

  • @rhaldane what he become today?

  • @rhaldane what he become today?

  • Where can i find this song or album ?? MP3 ?

  • Brilliant! The song is one of my fav on my commute to work everyday! Now seeing the vid is a real treat. Eye Eye together with Platinum Blonde, Strange Advance, Images in Vogue, Payolas, Rational Youth, Blue Peter, Spoons and Pukka Orchestra were great Canadian bands that sadly went unnoticed back then despite their great music. Thanks to the net they're being re-discovered by a new generation! Thank you so much for this mybasshas7strings.

  • Awesome, yeah im on the Darkside too, lol,as hfx folks call us, lol

  • Thanks for sharing these...ahhh the memories! Eye Eye was my favourite band in the late eighties. BTW, I've always wondered - did Bill Wood ever appear in a commercial for Seagram's? The commercial featured a band playing in a bar and, I swear, the singer looked just like him...

  • I'm pretty sure Bill appeared in the commercial for Wildberry Vodka coolers...I started drinking those because of him!! LOL. I can still picture it when I hear "Wild Thing"

  • Bill did indeed do those commercials in the Ontario market. He mentioned those to me some months back and I have been trying to locate the footage, so far no luck. Bill only remembered them himself when he saw Derry from Honeymoon Suite's Pepsi commercial.

  • Ha! Great to have a definitive answer finally after so many years. My family didn't have a VCR back then (imagine!) so my sis and I took photos of the tv commercial trying to figure out if it was Bill. I still have those photos somewhere, plus screenshots from these videos. Thanks again for posting them. Cheers!

  • lol Now that has to fall under, "you know you are a fan when" you are taking screen shots with a still cam. I can't match that, but we did have a Beta VCR :-)

  • I have looked for this tune for a long time now, I used to play the hell out of my 45 record I had :) Great tune! Thanks for posting, you made my day. I love the eighties and I'm glad I was a part of it :)

  • My best friend accidently dropped mine, the full LP, and there it smashed b4 out feet. :(

  • If you'd like I can put you in touch with Bill, he still has original vinyls of the first record, as well as the second on CD. I would guess he might be willing to part with one or both for a fan in exchange for a nominal fee to cover his expense.

  • Wow, thars awesome, im strapped right now, but I will check into it when things are more balanced. Are you in music?

  • Yes, I'm a bass player out East in Halifax, I played professionally for many years with various artists through the late 80's and 90's as well as doing professional studio recordings. :)

  • Right on, I have probably seen you and heard you then, lol, in my autograph chasing days, lol, I am from Halifax myself.

  • ah, cool, I get so used to talking to people in Ontario and stuff, I forget that every now and then someone local finds me on here. We are about the same age according to your profile so we probably spent time in the same bars. If you ever hung out at the Misty Moon we probably crossed paths at some point. I started playing around here way before I was old enough to get into a bar. lol

  • who might u really be,,,i too was a moon rat ,,,played in 80s maritime scene,,,now im back at it ,,my bands called sunset strip..u might be some one i know,,

  • Wow, I have been looking for this for years, I remember singing this tune as loud as I could...loved it in the day, still sounds great today :) Thanks for posting dude, you made my day :)

  • Ha ha ha, me toooooooooooooooo :)

  • I haven't heard this song since high school. Thanks.

  • I saw them open for Glass Tiger in 1986 at the Ontario Place Forum at the concert MuchMusic filmed. Followed them about for a bit and sang on stage with them in Port Perry!!! LOL. Great memories....it was great being a teenager in the 80's. Thanks so much for posting this! Great memories!

  • We saw these guys too!! Can't remember if they opened for Haywire or Glass Tiger...'87 or '88 ??? Anybody know?? Or Am I totally wrong??? I'm pretty sure I touched the lead singers hand!!!!

  • To the best of my recollection, the were here with Platinum Blonde once in '86 after their first record and they were here in Halifax again after the second album came out, but the gig I remember was at the Misty Moon Caberet. I don't recall a gig with Glass Tiger and Eye Eye, as for Haywire, Eye Eye were a much bigger band then Haywire, Haywire played a number of shows at the Metro Centre but they were always the opener.

  • This would have been in Ontario, I'm USUALLY never wrong! Find out for me, or else it will haunt me forever!!!! Thanx!

I mean it....find out for me!!!

  • Omg like hello and thank you for being born. I have looked EVERYWHERE for this band. As for your post, I proudly attended those shows. Canadian rock of the 80's kicked ass> The only reason I found this, was because I came home from seeing Honeymoon Suite the other night, and wanted to get nostalgic, lolol. :)

  • An excellent song and vid. I actually first encountered this band when they opened for Platinum Blonde in Halifax in 1986. I remember looking around for their "Just In Time To Be Late" cassette but only found it in Moncton.

  • Hey, I was at that show, it's small world! I was born in Halifax and now live across the harbor in Dartmouth. A side to that, Bill from the band says he really loves Halifax and he went to school at Acadia U for a time.

  • Great concert, wasn't it ? I was on the floor with the Coca Cola reps - I had won a contest and gone backstage to see Platinum Blonde.

  • I made an eye eye fan page on myspace.

    myspace com/eyeeyefan

  • I've been looking everywhere for music (besides the great song "Out on a Limb") from this band. Thank you for the rare and much appreciated videos.
