Not really. The contract is not necessary for the phone (or the iTouch that also plays the same games as the phone) as the phone runs on other networks than AT&T. As I stated previously the hardware can be found for cheaper than the PSP. Adding other things is assumption and a bit of a strawman. Not everyone is locked into AT&T's pricing nonsense. If we're adding other fees for discussion then consider game/software cost. iPhone games have a MUCH lower pricepoint.
