It seens too much to spend for a starting out program. I use adobe premiere elemnts and get great results

I use sony vegas 9 and i love playing with all of the artificial light effects and creating smoke and fog ect with the media generators. You also get 4 Video tracks.

Hi I just got an HD camcorder and pinnacle studio 12. I have a problem when getting the the HD videos or MPEG4 videos in to PS12. The video shows up in the import section, but if I click play or even drag it down to the timeline it will play the image for a split second then the image will freeze, but the sound will keep going. I have windows vista and even right click on the program so I can open it as admin, it worked once but it won't work again. Can someone help me please? Thank you.

Oh well I bought Sony Vegas already and I'm happier with that. You can do more anyways. Pinnacle sucks.

Beware of Studio 12, it is unstable when rendering AVCHD movies. I know having completely renistalled my Vista system and loaded Studio 12 from scratch and it still fails. Just go and look for Exprt error on there Knowledge base, no fix for Studio 12 yet. The program is good and easy to use but you have been warned.

I tried to upload pinnacle studio 11 projects to you tube but later found out you tube does not take avi files. Do u know how to change the file type so I can put stuff on the web? (not yahoo video)

YouTube does accept AVIs--my video was saved as an AVI! But why don't you try saving as an MPEG4, --Jefferson Graham

One of the new features of Studio 12 is that you can do a direct up load to You Tube from the Studio 12 Timeline.

Interesting review.

My only comment is that I believe that in fact you do have the possibility to add a title over a picture overlaying a video. It is true that Studio 12 limits the videos track to two, but the title track is indipendent (a third track on the screen), and is overlayed above the two videos. At least this is what Studio 11 does.

What would also be interesting in a review are few words about the stability and realibility of the product. Studio's reputation is quite bad for it

My version of Studio 12--unstable. But I was chalking it up to working with AVCHD and Vista. As unstable as Studio 11.

I have used Magix Movie Edit Pro 11 and its worked pretty well for me plus it has 16 tracks which Pinnacle does not. I got Sony Vegas which is suppose to be the most reliable software. Ulead VideoStudio 11.5 is also suppose to be very reliable. Pinnacle on the other hand I just see it as always having problems. I would never buy it. I read the reviews and get the impression even programs like Nero and Easy Media Creator have less bugs. Why did the guy say Pinnacle is Best Selling Software?

That's right. I had learned the hard way how it is working with Pinnacle. I had 8 and then hoped with 11, but my hopes have been disattended.

It is actually the most sold, due to its simple interfaces and his packs of features (if working, actually the best on its price-range).

But it crashes and it gives all sort of other problems.

I am also switching to Sony Vegas and turning down the 99$ upgrade offer for Pinnacle 12.

Sony's articulated GUIs don't scare me as much as crashing SW.
