Gwailogavin - it depends on the type of panel.. warranty on solar panels are supposed to last year 10 -25 years but generally 2-3 conservatively. I would like to pay 50 bucks every 6 months to get maintenance on those sucker which would significantly decrease my overall expenditure on electric bills and thus would be cost saving. Spending most of us the stimulus money on building green energy would have been highly productive and sustainable. However, the money was spread out to boost up state economies that are far over-extended. The state I live in simply has too much gov. and not enough revenue to cover the cost of the gov... the same thing is true on a national scale.

The fraction system is not right. 20% reserve rate leads to with an initial deposit of $100 leads to the creation of $500 When the reserve rate is 20%, the maximum amount of total deposits that can be created is $500 and the maximum amount of commercial bank money that can be created is $400. This is due to the multiplier effect. That to me is crazy. To bad my financial assets can't generate that kind of income. I would be rich. In the end this is just money creation.

If you have personal debt, you find ways to cut living expenses and save money. However, the fed. gov. doesn't want to give up any of it's size. In fact it is actually growing faster then our economy and it has been since World war II. We don't need a nanny state, we need less, more efficient fed. gov.

You problem has always been banking system. Look at our system. We were able to declare where out of a recession by our bank of Canada which is audited within a couple months. We have been slightly affected from this economics mess and we haven't bailed out our banks. In-fact we put in a 33 billion dollar stimulus, 45% each on infrastructure and unemployment and 10% on green innovation. Your problem has always been your banks, production as well as foreign policy.

Gwailogavin - it depends on the type of panel.. warranty on solar panels are supposed to last year 10 -25 years but generally 2-3 conservatively. I would like to pay 50 bucks every 6 months to get maintenance on those sucker which would significantly decrease my overall expenditure on electric bills and thus would be cost saving. I bet all of this can happen. By the way, the panels ability to garner sunlight reduces it's efficiency by 80%. I hope that their an expert around. Verification needed

Time will tell. I wish I could tell the future. Maybe I should transform into a bear and hibernate for a couple of months. Will see if the democratic policies work in 1 year or 2. 2 Years maximum. If no significant improvement then were all screwed. P.S. your political system excites me. I would like to work in the States in Accounting/finance or economics. Maybe I can get a high paying job. Job outsourcing is a problem but companies do so to reduces costs as well as recruiting talent individuals in India and China. Face it, both these nations are considered smarter than your average America although some American are exceptional bright. This statement is hate or disrespect to my neighbors. Basically it cheaper. less expenditure, more revenue. Education is key for growth. America used to be the innovative nation of the world. FORD - light bulb - Ethernet.. you name it.

America had a huge edge after World War II. Europe was either in rubble or under the yoke of communism. Chinese were communist who dreamed of one day owning a bicycle.
The rest of the world has caught up and we need to start thinking different. Find ways to keep our wealth instead of sending it to other countries. The way things are going, we are going to become the cheapest labor market in the world.

I commend Obama for doing everything to fix the problem even if its causes more spending. The faster you guys get out of the recession the better it is for everyone. Including Canada and the United States and the majority of Europe. Time will tell, but i think his policy will work. If not we are all doomed.

Spending most of us the stimulus money on building green energy would have been highly productive and sustainable. However, the money was spread out to boost up state economies that are far over-extended. The state I live in simply has too much gov. and not enough revenue to cover the cost of the gov... the same thing is true on a national scale.
Cutting our massive gov. bureaucracies to create productive jobs would free up a lot of money and create real growth.

The US is ranked 40 in the world on banking system and bank policies. Canada is ranked #1. We don't give mortgages to people who can't afford it. Michael and Captain Freedom... stop blaming Obama. America has been moving in the wrong direction since 9/11. The Federal Reserve has been has been printing money hand over fist to maintain an unsustainable standard of living.

A slowing GDP mean a lot Unemployment has skyrocketed to 10% due to those fucking companies hording their money and not spending you idiot. The main concern is the banks. All those derivatives contain real estate assets and financial assets. That what lack of regulation does. Blame the banks. People need to be prudent. Business are afraid. China pushed stimulus money into improving infrastructure. There growth is 3.8%.
France managed to quickly pump 75% of their stimulus money into the economy improving infrastructure.
America spent it's stimulus money on bailing out banks, sterilizing horses and bailing-out over-extended state budgets. The state bailout money essentially went to keep beuracrats in office.
The size of our gov. and conspicuous spending is unsustainable... yet the gov. is trying keep us in dream land.

People need to get educated and stop blaming your president. As a Canadian, we Canadians pay a greater average tax rate than the states. Obama administration is willing to raise taxes for individuals or business that make more than 250 k a year. I guarantee you 80% of American don't make that kind of money. That tax raise for individuals is reduced through tax avoidance - reduce the amount of tax that is payable - this is generally more spending for rich individuals.
