i want to ask i have a mm8 and a roland dr 880 drum kit. I want to know how to connect this 2 device with a midi cable? I want to use my mm8 to play the drum pattern but it seems not work.
i just traded in a motif es 8 for a mm8 best investment i have made in along time when it comes to keys. es was too weighty. this is a powerful board.
Thanks, pinolero. My background is acoustic but through my research and pricing, wound up with a nice used Yamaha mo8. I receive it tomorrow and once I have figured the thing out, will start researching the many DAWs out there. I have read much about ideas on improving sounds by layering, and then there's always the software for better sounds. I have heard that the Cubase 6 program is functional. Thanks and take care.
Sorry, one more question, Why use LogicPro if the Yamaha comes with a Cubase Al4? Just wondering. Is the Cubase program that useless? Thanks. Again, I just love the sound you've created and the chords in your piece sound very nice. What are they? Thanks, again. Take care.
So, that outstanding piano sound is because of your LogicPro? Could you get that nice sound with a cheaper keyboard? Thanks, lovely just lovely music.
Love your song. Could I ask you a few questions about your setup? I was going to buy a Casio Privia PX330, but just am not moved by the sounds. It even sounds out of tune to me on the grand piano setting. I am really interested in the MM8, even though there are only 32 notes polyphony adn 8 track recording. I would like to arrange/compose music. Will the MM8 be a good choice for this? How are you getting that great piano sound? Thank you so much.
Smoothe. loved it. Could you tell me the best way to get music burned to cd from the mm8 ? I'm getting one soon and I'd like to be able to record. Can I just connect to my laptop without music software and burn the music ?.............again, sounds fantastic.
@TheYakkis I used the MM8 as a MIDI controller. This means that instead of producing sounds directly from the keyboard, the keys and controls on the keyboard are used to manipulate the sounds my computer through a digital audio workstation (I'm using Logic Pro). The sounds from the MM8 are not that great so I prefer recording this way.
@HowlDono That's only for production. I use the preset sounds for live performances, especially with synths, strings or piano. They sound quite good when hooked up to high quality monitors.
OK, got this keyboard last week and I LOVE IT!!!!!! It is amazing! It has the Motif ES engine, so it has GREAT quality sound for a reasonable price! I got mine used for $600. I really am happy with my purchase! You guys should get one!
Hi, nice playing. I am hoping to get this keyboard very very soon. I played it in a music shop. after having it for sometime, how do you like it? especially with regards to polyphony and the quality of piano?
cheers mate nice playing pls tel me more about the steinway piano VST which one is it? you helped me decide which synth i need to get this synth has an entry level but really good keys and graded hammer system. The stock piano, e-piano, organ and guitar sound i think are really good also the synths. only shame it is not good for MIDI sequencing. but what the hell thats what logic is for i'm definately gonna get this. ignore the prick below me he's gay the video/audio quality is awesome
@MrKeYz145 I plugged my keyboard to my laptop via USB. I used it as a MIDI controller controlling the Steinway piano VST in Logic Pro. The piano sound you hear is not from the stock MM8 sounds.
@barclayberkeley Can you make a video on how to the process bro. That will help me and others for sure. If you do i will appreciate it so much man. God Bless
wow! amazing!
