  • i was at this show. mindblowing experience

  • you sure that's not keith carlock on drums?

  • @stairway2dvn its cliff almond, i'd stake my life on it!

  • drummer in a bar and over the bar at the same time ;)

guess he has to be to sync up with Wayne, whose sense of rhythm is gone! What Wayne is doing there after the drums come back in at 1:39 is sweet!

  • So badass......Krantz is the funkiest man alive.

  • any more of this footage???

  • whoa

  • The man's clearly off his tits. Wonderful!

  • Ring modulator at 1:15 !

  • I just love Wayne. Like Bill Frisell, he has such a unique and defined sound and a way of playing....and he plays with some balls

  • This guy cliff is great drummer!!!!

  • esto me hace acordar a lo que tocó, keith karlock en el modern drummer 2005, exelente!!!

  • AHH hell yeah!! havent checked out krantz' group in at least a few years now... i used to be obSESSED with this shit... 'greenwich mean' took me completely out of jazz when i was young and impressionable first got to berklee, had me ignoring my classes and trying to find a way to play music like this without sounding like a ripoff... eventually i found keith jarrett and kurt rosenwinkel and got back into straight ahead jazz... but this player and this music is fucking AMAZIng...

  • This is the music I KNEW was out there, but just hadn't yet heard. Awesome.

  • Monstorous!

  • Anyone know how Wayne does financially? Does he make money doing work on Broadway, etc. that he doesn't publicize?

  • Maybe it is time for Wayne to move forward...

  • takes awhile for people to develop i figure.. maybe its a good thing hes stopped doing the 55bar thing. he can actually focus on developing.

  • We all hope so. He´s a great musician.

  • why did he stop playing there? Seeing these guys made me wanna play music (and sometimes made me hate myself for sucking). Come back. ALso, has anyone checked out his book?

  • The only reason i went to the 55 Bar when I was in NYC was to see Wayne. Fuck what a tragic loss to the NYC scene.

  • Outrageous phrasing !

He is the scariest guitarist out there ...

  • wayne you owe me a lesson.............

  • I think wayne has a unique voice and should some how bring into a more mainstream situation. So a mass of people can endure it. And wayne you still owe mw a lesson I payed for....

  • I'm gonna be seeing Krantz, Carlock, and Tal Wilkenfeld playing there in October! i can't wait....it'll be my first time in NYC as well...

  • This is Why

Thanks a lot for the vid

  • this video is why his music is not more accessible commercially or the music they play in the video is the reason it isn't more available commercially?

  • Yeah... but the name of the song is Why :)

    Cheers

  • I really enjoy Wayne. So in the moment. Great art. I wish his music was more accessible commercially though.

  • if you read the article in guitar player about the improvisational strategies he uses while playing you will have a whole new appretiation for his music

  • i can't find this ..could you help me ,please?

  • I love how he blends rock and jazz to such a profound level

  • Great stuff. Wayne is amazing. Better sounding recording than the montreal jazz fest one, too.
