  • Yikes.

  • this is right up there with the 1979 Star Wars holiday special.

  • no wonder the show took so long for a reboot

  • WOW this is bad...

  • I think this one-off is totally bizarre and totally fun! It reminds me of the Monkees special 33 and 1/3rd Revolutions in its nuttiness. Both specials are SOOOO weird, but it's still so neat to see everybody again!

  • Wouldnt the Rani only have to do in the FIRST Doctor in order to destory all of them.

You cant progress linearly from 3 to 4 if 1 and 2 are taken out of the equation entirely.

  • the 6 doctor can't no ace he ent meet her yet

  • 2013 bollocks

  • the old who is confusing haha

  • As a Doctor Who fan, this both upsets and offends me greatly.

  • Tom Baker's description of the 1st and 2nd doctors was hilarious

  • This is CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lmao, this is basically the BBC's way of saying "Hey, fuck you" To the Doctor Who fans. xD

  • Its a shame the BBC did not let Doctor Who go on for another year.

  • well this 2013 seems a but outdated considering we are close to it

  • @cardmagictrickgurmas lol when i left school in 1981 i thought wed all be livign on the moon and mars by now.

  • This is proof that time travel doesn't really exist. Someone would have come back and prevented this from being made.

  • @Newbunkle I'd still rather watch this than the new series. (Although, Amy Pond's legs are growin' on me...)

  • @Newbunkle Or at least taken Mel out. I really hate her.

  • What an utter pile of steaming shit.

  • They could have put a wig on Baker....

  • What the heck happened to the fourth doctor? hes trapped? i don't know.

  • @BlackScarabZ I don't think anybody does :'(

  • She hates me! She even hates children!

  • I was going to email you about the same thing. I just watched that episode and I think she said "Time Lord" there and in a previous episode, but Tom Baker does call her a Time Lady in City of Death. I'll have to rewatch to make sure I heard her right.

  • 4:30 lol Jackie Tyler?!

  • this is great fun, even if it's a load of nonsense.

  • 4:15 Ten's Coat TAKES OVER TIME!

  • Shit

  • I came to comment when Rory in Night Terrors mentioned Eastenders Land.

  • my god this is terrible, and i've only seen the first minute so far.

  • this basic idea may have worked, if they cunt out the easterends stuff and set it inside the matrix in or sometihng. It may have been decent

  • 2013? dont think so

  • Thanks for this!! :D

  • She even hates children. Oh tom.

  • i think im counting this as......... non-cannon

  • I love the idea of 6 and Ace together.

  • what the fuck?

  • Where did you get this?

  • Poor old sixth, no one believes he is the Doctor.

Still, I think he is an awesome incarnation of the Doctor.

  • @DamnQuilty I almost want him to shout back at them... "its not my fault the writing was terrible!"

  • @ThatBritishVlogger Yes, he has all the right to shout out that.

  • You'd think Susan would be more understanding of the idea of regeneration, being a Time Lady after all.

  • @stitch99 Yes, you're right. Her response really made no logical sense. go figure. Blame it all on John Nathan Turner. The man who almost killed The Doctor

  • "she even hates children!" ha ha :)

  • It was a recorder ACTUALLY, not a flute!

  • @BIGcrownjewels She's wearing the same outfit that she did in The Hand Of Fear. With a Mario-looking hat. For some reason.

  • @Sheiky06 yes and I thought that outfit looked great on her. I suspect they did too which is why she is wearing it.

  • @stramayne Sure, it looked great on her in 1976. But having a 40 something year old woman in the same outfit is kind of embarrassing. I loved Sarah Jane but they always dressed her horribly in those reunion shows. Remember the see through raincoat thing in The Five Doctors?

  • @Sheiky06 I agree with your objection. But you are not taking in account the fact that Sarah Jane and The 3rd Doctor or whomever are supposed to be from long ago. She has to wear appropriate dress for her day. The reality is that she and all the others had aged. But we must be kind and pretend they hadn’t. It’s the price we pay for one of these old Doctor/new Doctor crossovers. Especially one as ambitious as this was in having so many from different eras together.

  • Poor old Colin was already losing his hair!

  • Comment removed

  • I would defnitely say Pertwee's and Davisons performances in this are the most redeemable part of the episode, seeing Nyssa and Peri together was brilliant, I think that should have happened in the show

  • Seeing Colin Baker and Sophie Aldred side-by-side is almost a peek into what might have been if Michael Grade hadn't canned Colin back in 1987.

  • 7:14 USE YOUR SONIC... Oh, you're that one.

  • why hello sarah-jane

  • I miss the rani

  • william hartnell- the grumpy one haha

  • MADAM, WHAT YEAR IS THIS!?

  • 2013 LAWL guess i'm not going to london in 2yrs :P

  • in comparision the first part actually makes a fair bit of sense compared to the mishmash conclusion

  • No word of a monorail being built through Walford yet.

  • 3rd doctor looks perfect!

  • Even if it's just a Children in Need Special, the writers of this should be ashamed of themselves. How they can make something this messy and incoherent is beyond me, they totally ruined a great chance to have so many of the original doctors together. :/

  • What's up with McCoy's hair?

  • this version of the music theme is wack..the original rules

  • its illegal to show peter davidson with shorter hair...

  • @19DannyodudE99 That's why he wears a hat, lol.

  • "She even hates children" the scoundrel!

  • Weird how Davison looks like a cross between his 80s Doctor and his Time Crash Doctor

  • @Scarperguy Makes perfect sense; it's almost exactly midway between the two.

  • and to think that woman who tells Ace what pieces of clothing will be all the rage in 1994 will ultimately die when Jackie Tyler abandons her just before the Daleks test the reality bomb in 2008

  • this is why i don't watch classic who - i'm terrified i'll get lumberedd with something like this? Anybody got any suggestions of good episodes i can watch to get over my ignorance ( ps.i am huge modern who fan so i love obviously love the concept etc)

  • @chuggieforever This was a one-off, and done for two things, namely charity and fun. As for suggesting "good" episodes, we can only tell you what we like and hope you do the same. There's certainly more to like in the original series than the new. My suggestions: Doc 1: Edge of Destruction 2: The Mind Robber 3: The Curse of Peladon 4: The Image of the Fendahl 5: The Five Doctors 6: Timelash 7: Paradise Towers 8: Doctor Who: The Movie (the only choice!), and the audio "Minuet in Hell."
  • @chuggieforever The Curse of Fenric, Genesis of the Daleks, Inferno, The War Games (10 episodes long), The Caves of Androzani (voted best ever), Vengeance on Varos and An Unearthly Child (the first)

  • It's true, you can at least give everybody credit for throwing themselves 100% into it.

  • is it just me or does william hartnell's head look like doc from back to the future?

  • @AlexanderKupo2184 I always think they bear a slight resemblance, it's the hair. But you're right, I don't think the head effect was all that brilliant, it bares a just recognizeable resemblance but there's something odd about the face...

  • @AlexanderKupo2184 you know I was wondering that my self

  • @AlexanderKupo2184 I was wondering who the hell that was.

  • @AlexanderKupo2184 YES IT DOES THANK YOU

  • @chrisnicholls1984 like a fromage.

  • did i see Jackie?

  • @sammegaman1993 No, you saw Wendy Richard as Pauline.

  • I think this is a wonderful short story for Doctor Who who cares if it wasn't very long or didn't have a proper plot the fact is is that they brought WHO back for two nights and everyone gave a good pereformance!!

  • @JuddonMaster Well said.

  • @SimonTalksWHO Thanks mate

  • @JuddonMaster i agree. No matter the weaknesses of this tale it features so many of The Doctors giving a good performance I like to consider it a "real" adventure.

  • @stramayne Yes and Kate O Mara and the assistants gave a performance too

  • Utter crap.

  • Richard Hurndall died of a heart attack at the age of 73, less than five months after the first broadcast of The Five Doctors.

  • @EJDW That's true, and very sad it was, too. He had said that any time they might want the First Doctor to appear anymore, he'd be happy to do it. He did play the role on one other occasion, when he and Peter Davison turned up as their respective Doctors on a chat show.

  • @dannnny00 King Caspian, you mean. He played the character after he'd been ruling Narnia for three years.

  • @dannnny00 Yes, it is; this was shown before a live audience on "Noel Edmonds's House Party."

  • @tardistuner King Caspian, actually.

  • The Rani sure picks her companions well, she's got Prince Caspian on her side!

  • @cheekyminxi You mean KING Caspian!

  • @cheekyminxi Or, what's even more appropriate, Victor Frankenstein!

  • Comment removed

  • @srvfan454 And Richard Hurndall, let's be fair!

  • @MaskedMan66 He really was a great look alike for the first Doctor. I shouldn't have left him out.

  • @hcvang PRINCESS Diana; she hasn't been "Lady" Diana since she married Charles. She got to keep the title even after the divorce and held it until she died.

  • @theeventsnetwork Actually, his very last appearance as the Doctor was in the fan film "Devious," available on the DVD for "The War Games." It's well worth watching, and his performance is very moving.

  • @dramaticguy How wonderful would it be to have her made up to look very old, snowy-white hair and all, and have this young whippersnapper come up to her and say, "My dear Susan!"

Then imagine the look on Amy and Rory's faces when the elderly lady says, "Grandfather!"

  • @billiepiper4lifefan1 It's canon until the BBC says otherwise. The presence of a show called "EastEnders" doesn't really mean much, especially when there was a show that sounded an awful lot like "Doctor Who" in the story "Remembrance of the Daleks." The Doctor has been to parallel worlds, and there's no reason to think he's visited places where he's known as a T.V. character.

  • @sophomorictrash I'd like to visit that reality!

  • @Jackalman99 He never had bright red curls; that was Bonnie Langford. Tom's hair was brown when he was on the show.

  • @GingerJamesMay Not if they were out of temporal phase with them, which they obviously were.

  • @shakeyphil Peri hardly showed any cleavage in the season that was made after the hiatus.

  • @seph1r0th400 Makes perfect sense if your imagination fills in the unexplained bits.

  • @DistantCousin Hardly! And she knows no such thing for sure; for all she knows it could be an impostor. Remember, though she looks like the grown-up Susan, this is quite plainly the Susan from the first two seasons of the show (aged perhaps by the time distortion), and has not yet seen her grandfather regenerate.

  • @DistantCousin Use your imagination and come up with a reason she's got up that way. I think it's quite simply that after finishing her work at Terminus, she felt like a wash and a change of clothes!

  • @QueenNyx Actually, the complete line, started by Pat Troughton and picked up by most of the Doctors since, is, "When I say run, run. RUN!!!"

  • @Tetrisrock They'd have to explain how she survived the Time War, and frankly, after the Master's survival, any more Time Lords coming back would be anticlimactic and a bit contrived.

Nevertheless, I did hear a rumor that they were planning to use the Rani on SJA played by Gillian Anderson. Pretty likely, isn't it? (Yeah, sure!)

  • @BottomBoosh He wouldn't wear one.

  • @fivebearrugs To keep up to date, of course.

  • @batmanofni I think fluffysbro means why does it look different than it did on the regular series. Simple reason is that the Doctor's TARDIS console room was the only one available, so they just gave it some sinister lighting as wuld be likely in a baddie's TARDIS.

They did the same thing with the Master's TARDIS all the time in the original series and in the parody "The Curse of Fatal Death." It would just be the Doctor's console room relit.

  • @uri112189 They may not work on YouTube, but if you can get a tape or DVD of this, it does work on T.V.

  • @tardistuner He did, and a far better cast than Ben "You keel my fadair" Barnes he was.

  • @DelericShield The Doctor has had many, many, MANY offscreen adventures. You have no way of knowing for sure that the Fourth has never communicated with any of the others.

  • @harrietamidala1691 Nyssa is the short one with the brown hair, Peri is the busty American with the black hair.

  • @PsyduckRanger That doesn't mean a thing; the Doctor has traversed universes before, including one in which "Doctor Who" was about to premiere!

  • First time I've seen this, thanks for posting it

  • Nyssa and Peri...would have been great.

  • @LilRonin01 They would have been an interesting pairing; the calm, logical cyberneticist and the enthusiastic, no-nonsense botanist.

  • i always thought colin should have said to susan "actually, if you compare out behavior, I'm quite a bit like your grandfather." lol:)

  • @nightowl685 Or possibly, "You wait 'till you've regenerated a time or two and then we'll see how much like my granddaughter you are!"

  • @MaskedMan66 lol, good one:)

  • @nightowl685 *bows*

  • ELIZABETH SLADEN!! lol. It's funny to see all the doctors and companions jubbled up. Dontcha just love how Susan reacts?

  • @saturnstargirl Elisabeth, not Elizabeth. Hate to correct folks, but she does spell it with an "S."

And for the record, the man who played the 5th Doctor was called Davison, not Davidson.

  • @MaskedMan66 Oops, sorry. I ALWAYS get confused with names like that. Thanks for correcting me.

  • @saturnstargirl No problem! We don't have that many Elisabeths in the States (Elizabeths we got!), but there are plenty in England. And sorry if I come off a stickler, it's just that, well... I am. ;-)

  • @MaskedMan66 =)

  • @saturnstargirl Thanks for understanding. :-)

  • Floating heaaaaads!

  • has this been released on a DVD yet?

  • @gindalf0492 Not legally, but you can get it on bootleg video if you go to the right conventions.

  • I watched this when it went out and thought it was incoherent and embarrassing. But now i see it as interesting but kitsch fluff.

I wonder what newer fans make of this, I suppose its wierd seeing Sarah Jane like this. When The Five doctors was shown, I sort of knew there were other previous Doctors without actually having seen any of their episodes. But it was strange seeing all these people that knew the Doctor, characters I had never heard of like Liz Shaw etc.

  • Doctors and companions in order:

    The Fourth Doctor

    The Seventh Doctor and Ace

    The Sixth Doctor and Ace

    The Third Doctor and Mel

    The Sixth Doctor and Susan

The Third Doctor and Sarah Jane

The Fifth Doctor, Peri and Nyssa

  • @rjconnolly64 You left out Docs 1 and 2! I know they didn't do much, but they were in it.

  • @MaskedMan66 Damnit! I missed!

  • @rjconnolly64 No worries!

  • @rjconnolly64 And of course in Part Two we see:

The Third Doctor, Liz, Mike, and the Brigadier

The Sixth Doctor and the Brigadier

    The Third Doctor and Victoria

    The Seventh Doctor and Leela

The Seventh Doctor, K-9, and Ace

  • Doctor Who in Albert Square?

  • @rjconnolly64 Why not? He's been everywhere else.

  • Jon Pertwee- that cat didn't age much, did he? If this was filmed in 1993, he hadn't played the part in 10 years (the 1983 "Five Doctors" special), and not regularly since the early 1970's.

  • @DarkeningSkies1 It's eerily appropriate that his last appearance as the Third Doctor was a recreation of his first appearance as the Third Doctor, in the fan video "Devious." His marvelous and very moving performance can be seen on the DVD of "The War Games."

  • Is this out on dvd?

  • @Timelord630 No and unfortunately never will be! The actor's union Equity made an arrangement that none of the cast or crew were to be paid as the story was designed to be broadcast only once. It can therefore not be commercially released. The only place this can ever be seen again is the place you're seeing it right now-Youtube.

  • How has O'Mara not got an Oscar?

  • This was on TV in the year I was born!

  • @Zangoose000 I would say that makes me feel old, but as I've never learned how to feel old, I'd just be wasting pixels.

  • when i say run run, RUN! oh and ha ha colin is going baldXD

  • @BowTiesareCool12 Actually, he hasn't really gone any more bald than you see here, though his hair is all white these days. Rather like Hartnell's, actually!

  • @MaskedMan66 true, but his hair isn't curly anymore - it's more straight-ish

  • @BowTiesareCool12 Like I said, it really resemble's Hartnell's wig nowadays.

  • @MaskedMan66 why yes, yes it does

  • wow this is the first doctor who episode tom baker did after he left ( note the fact that he wouldn't do the five doctors) and he gets a crappy spot in it

  • @BowTiesareCool12 It was all he was available for, and he did great things with it. And you have to admit, it was great seeing him in the scarf again.

  • @MaskedMan66 yes, yes it was XD I WANT THE SCARF!

  • @BowTiesareCool12 You can get 'em, or if you're any good at knitting, there are patterns available.

  • @MaskedMan66 if i'm good at knitting thats funny i cant knit anything YAY and i dont have any money to get one plus it would probably be hard cuz they probably wont have that many to but in the u.s. - probably XD

  • @BowTiesareCool12 Get yourself a generous significant other is all I can suggest at this stage.

  • @MaskedMan66 well i dont see that happening for a while - im in 8th grade

    XD

  • @BowTiesareCool12 No rich kids of the opposite sex in your class? Well, start saving your pennies, I guess.

  • @MaskedMan66 oh yeah i'll kidnapp a rich kid- " BUY ME A DOCTOR WHO SCARF!!!!!!" that will work and did you know a penny a day- is a really crappy savings planXD :D yay!

  • @BowTiesareCool12 If you're a Time Lord, a penny a day can eventually add up to a very nice sum!

  • @harrietamidala1691 yeah JNT should have stuck to producing rather than writing really, its no wonder Saward walked out.

  • Ok so it's super cool seeing all the doctor and companions...but can ANYONE make sense of what is actually going on :P

  • @wolfsoda *meant doctors. I hate typos...almost as much as I hate children!

  • @wolfsoda You know, actually, what with the Doctor being only one man, despite all the different forms, you were probably right in saying, "all the Doctor" in the first place.

  • @wolfsoda Anyone with an imagination can.

  • @MaskedMan66 Well sure, I can IMAGINE what's going on, and I am often the one rationalizing leaps in logic in tv shows. But I think any attempt to rationalize or to follow what is going on or do anything beyond enjoy the ride will result in massive brain meltage. The best I can come up with is that the Rani has caused all the companions to combine into one massive super-being with time-lord-esque regenerative and recollective powers. Or the different doctors and companions exist simultaneously

  • @wolfsoda on all planes of time and reality. Agh. Brain gooified. Must. Know. Technobable. :P

(And yeah, a better thing to say would probably "seeing all the forms of the doctor")

  • @wolfsoda Say after me: Wibbly-wobbly, timey wimey.

  • @wolfsoda There ya go! You do have an imagination, and came up with two possibilities on the spot. Mark you, if that did happen to the companions, it certainly wasn't the Rani's doing, or at least if it was, it was something she did by accident.

  • she evens hates children!
