I understand your concerns about the AF-100 codec, because I had them too. But after using the camera for months I have had absolutely no problems in post. The codec has held up very well. I kicked and screamed about the AF-100 not having DVCPO-HD and P2, but honestly I have yet to encounter a situation where I missed it...so far.
To me the HVX footage looks more detailed and the colors more vibrant.The codec of the AF100 stinks and I knew that .Make a new camera and stick with P2 cards Panasonic.The light sensitivity of the 100 is good.All they had to do is replace the 3 x 1/3 inch sensors with the 4/3.Or better still make a super 35 sensor specifically for video as Sony has done with it's F3.
