  • There is no right answer to that question. It's being asked in job interviews as well. It's tough because you need to be honest but at the same time you do not have to bare your soul. Her answer was neutral. She implied that she had made mistakes in life but nothing major.

  • @walangkeber No! That is not why! Not even close. -IN MY OWN HUMBLE OPINION.

  • @halfbreedhalfbreed1 So what do you think the reason was? You can't just disagree and not explain why. I'd like to hear your opinion on this one :)

  • @walangkeber I can do what ever I want! I already gave my opinion,YOU figure it out for yourself. You figure out why she was laughed at; you figure out why she did not get any points. You figure out why she did not answer the 2-part question. You figure out why she said; in the Miss Universe Pageant - no less: "you know - sir", or, "in my 22-yrs of existence", or, "there is nothing, major-major, I mean; problems that I have done", or, "thank you that I am here; thank you-thank you so much".

  • @walangkeber are you actually saying that the miss universe officals/judge gave a contestant an unanswerable question? is that what you are claimnig? are you also saying that they ask it job interviews? i know they ask this same question in job interviews - to teenagers at mcdonalds. i think, if its good enough for them, a university graduate / magnacumlaude, who gets harder questions all the time, should have no problem with it? do you know her personal mistakes anyway? the answer would be no.

  • @C86153805 I agree to you. this is a simple question ask all the time. they ask me that in my last job interview, i said i am strong enough to overcome any mistake and humble enough to learn from them too. the boss gave me the job. i think also if i hide my mistakes, they will think i hide other things too? if i am stong, i can make better decision and not afraid of making a mistake and know how to fix them, also learn from mistakes is good too.

  • ...thank you so much that she was not won...thank you so much...

  • RETARDED INTRO VENUS..YOUR ANSWER DOESN'T FIT TO THE QUESTION...PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE! NEXT TIME PICK FILIPINA IN AMERICA KNOWS HOW TO ANSWER THE QUESTION! NAKAKAHIYA SA KAPWA NYO FILIPINO...

  • the mexico is great

  • No matter how Venus answered that question, she would probably ended up 3rd place at best as the crown belonged either to Mexico or Jamaica.

  • As I stand here before you, I am perfection. Major major perfection. lol

  • I LOVE IT MAJOR MAJOR LOVE YOU VENUS <3

  • This a comment board on her 'stupid' answer - stupid. You are such an arrogant fool. Be quiet moron!

  • If you're not satisfied of Venus's answer then it's your damn problem, but us people who doesn't care her preferences in life we still support her for we love her no matter what. We cannot change what has already happened and there's no any other way to solve any such a thing but to accept them and move on from it. You haters if you're that desperate to argue with our beliefs you'l die trying!! and just so you know you're response is not necessary.

WE WILL ALWAYS BE PROUD OF YOU MS VENUS RAJ!

  • @99thFallenAngel Let’s use YOUR first part: “What’s-one… …big ‘testing’ mistake that you resoled?” What a great way to make the contestant seem strong, resourceful and humble and make her shine.

Let’s use her fan’s explanation: “What’s… …one-big-bad-worst-horrible mistake and problem you have committed?”

How would any answer to this question help the contestant shine?

  • @lalinggl

    @halfbreedhalfbreed1

No one brings Filipino's down, you can call us what you want but the facts will remain that you guys are merely jealous of us, not economically at least but in a sense you are threatened *bow*

  • So....she's perfect?

  • This Monkey is stupid!!!!

  • @lalinggl Look in the mirror. You'll see a real monkey.

  • that was a MAJOR MAJOR MISTAKE! :)

  • Here is the question again - and it's true purpose:

Baldwin: "What's one significant (for this particular question) mistake you've made that you resolved with courage, wisdom, fairness and inner-strength?

From that you got: Biggest Problem, A Bad Problem, A Major Problem, none of which Baldwin implied or asked.

She wasted the answer by saying: thank you-thank you, major-major, greetings to everybody including Las Vegas.

By the way, the word problem, has a totally different meaning.

  • @halfbreedhalfbreed1 Dude, it boggles my mind to think that Filipinos as-a-whole cannot break the easiest question in the world. I mean, why do they think they ask it anyway? They ask it in a lot of pageants for crying out loud, so I don't see any problem with it.

It looks as if they do not understand it and it becomes an enigma. So, they come up with excuses: racism, the oldest excuse in the book. They could do better than that old trick.

And, Miss Mexico is a minority, so WTF?

  • Comment removed

  • @usofa1492 Saying that the question being uttered by the judge as "easiest question in the world" is a matter of opinion Mr. Halfbreed. Though I don't deny that this statement would be easy in a usual standard, the fact that she is standing in front of myriads of people would definitely send a wave of Glossophobia throughout her. This only proves that she's human. I don't know what kind of parallel universe you live in, but I'd bet you wouldn't survive a second in her place.

  • @99thFallenAngel First; wasn't all the final-5 in front of myriads of people? Didn't they have any pressure or nervousness? Second; if you understand the question, it's easy, I mean, if you comprehend it, it's easy; Venus did not. Third; you, or I, wouldn't survive a second in her shoes, or anybody's shoes in the MissUniverse’s stage. And fourth; admitting she makes mistakes would show her as 'human' too. But at least she would answer the question instead of avoiding it & getting no points.

  • @usofa1492

First: Not all things are constant. The final-5 was in front of myriads of people, with different circumstances. Second. Thinking of the worst thing you would've done would take up a lot of mind time if your at the pedestal. Third: Of course. I'm a guy. I wouldn't dare do a Ms. Universe pageant, duh. Forth: Of the countless mistakes you've made, how can you pick up your worst on such a short notice? Points schpoints. You're like a student who helps a teacher for extra credit.

  • @usofa1492 Oh, and by the way, by saying " it boggles my mind to think that Filipinos as-a-whole cannot break the easiest question in the world." And I'm a Filipino, it kinda nullifies your statement.

  • @99thFallenAngel "Filipinos as-a-whole"=this means your too (since you are a Filipino). Again, this is an English saying that means that 'all-Filipinos' (including you) do not understand this easy question. In addition, you cannot break it this easy question. What mystified you? Whay don't you understand? You are like Venus, you do not understand the question. Seeeeeeeeee?

  • @usofa1492 I understand the question FYI. The judge was asking for the most testing mistake she has ever encountered, and how she resolved such a problem. A mistake that certainly isn't normal by normal human circumstances; which is why it is referred to as the "biggest mistake you've done in your life".

But Venus said she has none of those kind of mistakes. So what's there to argue? Again, this question isn't easy in front of a gazillion people. Why is that so easy for you to say?

  • Comment removed

  • @halfbreedhalfbreed1 Glossophobia isn't the fear of words. It's the fear of public speaking. I know what the question wishes to imply; no need to elaborate further. What I mean is that sure, here you are, sitting in front of the computer, watching this video saying, "Oh, shucks. C'mon! That's so easy!" Sure, it's easy if you compare it to an essay being written on a school test, or in a class oral exam; but standing in front of an entire crowd, that's another story.

  • @halfbreedhalfbreed1 What she had meant in her answer was, if we put it into practical words for you to understand:

"You know what sir, in my twenty-two years of existence, I can say that I haven't done anything majorly disastrous that would cause a paradoxical imbalance; all thanks to my family because of all the support they have given me, and they are the main reason why I'm here! Thank you, thank you so much!"

At least it's nice to know there's one person truly grateful in this world.

  • @99thFallenAngel He NEVER asked for a catastrophic, major disastrous paradoxical imbalance; that is your misunderstanding of the question he asked. If so, where did he ask that?

Therefore, you are just repeating the response by Venus; which was/still is off-topic.

Being grateful is not what he asked - it was never part of his question.

***Couldn’t Glossophobia affect every contestant, and not just Venus?

  • @halfbreedhalfbreed1

That catastrophic, major disastrous paradoxical imbalance is merely a metaphorical translation of what the judge said. What the judge asked was for something mind bending. Something one can't easily recover from. Venus answered that she never had such an experience and thanked her family for their support for not letting her experience such mistakes.

Glossophobia affects every contestant, yes, but that depends on how one can handle it. Like allergies, it varies.

  • @99thFallenAngel ...and YOU knew what she meant? How do you know what she comprehended and what she did not? At least I’m going by the English language where there is no other translation or meaning, and not the Taglish interpretation of the judge's question where, apparently it means something completely different.

BTW - There is something you don't know anything about: this question is for candidates and contestants in a unique Q/A setting, & not for random people walking down the street.

  • @halfbreedhalfbreed1 I knew what she meant because I took the liberty of watching her off-scene interview in an exclusive broadcast. The news reporter asked her, "If you were given the chance to answer the question again, what would you say?" And that's that. I heard what she had to say and saw the deeper meaning of what she said in the Q&A portion.

Actually, that wasn't just random people. Some of them were news reporters - people who are USED to speaking in public.

  • @99thFallenAngel When she was in front of millions and nervous it's one thing - an interview is another.

Again, this is not for reporters & for people that speak in public. You are making it proof that you don't know what the question was designed to bring out (don't you think for a second there is a reason for it?) & you don't know the target person is. So can you arrogantly asssume that it's for reporters, presidents & public speakers too? Why is this unanswerable question asked anyway?

  • @halfbreedhalfbreed1 Hello?! I know that. You asked me how I knew what she meant. Of course an exclusive interview is much easier. You feel more at ease with only a camera in front of you.

I am saying that this question, on the personal level, is rather hard. Not impossible to answer, but hard. I'm bringing out proof that it wasn't only her who felt that way. I don't get you. I never assumed it was for reporters, et cetera. Why would you assume that?

  • @halfbreedhalfbreed1 Venus' fans think they asked this enigma of a question; they think that the judges asked this unanswerable question. BS 100-times over. It's this type of arrogant assumptions that make them seem ignorant to a possiblity that there might be a simple explaination to this question. Noooooooooo... ...it is hard... ...and the mean judge asked this too-personal question. BS 200-times over. Janina can give a retarded answer and still win, so why can't Venus? BS 300-times over.

  • @halfbreedhalfbreed1 maybe you should see this video. It'll show that it wasn't just Venus who struggled with this question. /watch?v=TVGgtQR02WA&NR=1

  • No one forced her to answer in English; I think that was pompous on her part and the judges noted that [no-interpreter] arrogance. She franklly didn't understand any part of the question. If there was racism involved, Miss Mexico would'nt of won. It was a simple question asked to a simple person that equalled a diaster of shout-out and thank-yous instead of a real simple answer. That's that!

  • MAN she could have won... People shouldnt call her Miss Perfect Wannabee. She is human she makes mistakes. STOP with all these things about her. It IS a lot of pressure when you are up there and plus she had to answer in English when her primary language is Tagalog. I know I would have a rough time.

This is starting to be long, BUT seriously! You ALL don't know her. Stop judging like youre Judge Judy! (lol)

  • @AwesomeSauceChiz I think there was underlying racism involved. They weren't negative in anyway to the white Latina contestants that mess up on their answer and still win Miss Universe.

  • @beshnola I agree. I might also have to question on what standards allowed these selected people to be judges. Some of the judges, I believe, are just well known or famous, and they were picked so that more people would view the contest. Also, some of them don't even have knowledge and proper criteria (not that I do) about chosing who should be deserving to be crowned miss universe. It just baffles me. Sometimes I wonder if they just chose what they THOUGHT to be the "perfect" body/ personality.

  • Oh. Well. I guess she should've run for Miss Perfection then! Lol.

  • She looks like an Indian not Filipino.

  • @hoteatsdog she is in fact Indian-Filipino. Indian from the dad's side. Raj = Indian name.

  • well her answer is better than the miss carolina 2007...

  • don't you fret, venus. even rush limbaugh, a conservative talk-radio host, just used "major-major" in his monologue. "major-major" is totally acceptable now.

  • mariah venus raj is a hybrid not a pure filipino, she was just used miss phil to enter showbiz to have some money for her wants.. But thank you thank you. U know what sir in my 22 yerz of existence, ive done so many mistake in my life. Theres nothing major major i mean problem that i have done coz i am very confident...ewan???

  • I feel bad for Raj she lost because she did a great Donald Trump impersonation I've seen some of the Trump clips when he talks to the press he talks more crazier than Raj. My major major mistake is voting for Donald Trump.

  • @doders1106 She said she had no major problems, she didn't say she had no mistakes. The question was stupid and personal.

  • @doders1106 oh please you are a door knob

  • Jenina San Miguel's mistake was funnier

  • hehe Youtube bad-asses

  • @aseriousoffender I DONT GET IT .

  • Respond to this video... STUPID ASS FILIPINOS !! LOLOLOL

  • @TheGleeVids Okay now thats just racist.

  • Just because she didn't answer the question the way you all expect her to, doesn't mean she is dumb. People make mistakes, if you were there in front of all those people watching you, I bet you would be scared too. And just because she is Filipino, doesn't mean we're all dumb, arrogant or ignorant. Y'all just need to stop hating on her & on Filipinos.

  • @DanaLizzette - First, it is very unfair to think Venus was the only one up there, therefore ALL the girls were being watched, OK? Gezzzzzz! Second, "She didn't answer the question that way I wanted"??? She didn't answer it at all! You cannot avoid and ignore the question in the Miss Universe Pageant and still expect to win, OK? Gezzzzzz! Third, some filipinos are smart and humble, I know that. You are the haters of non-filipinos and I know that for a fact. You are bias racists - simple.

  • I still love Venus, I don't understand why people say shit when Caitlyn Upton went through the same thing and she was hated on now it's Venus I don't care what nobody says Venus u are Major Major BEAUTIFUL CONGRATS

  • The worst answers of all, how can you say that in top 5, you lose your chance venus....

  • she's so frecken ugly ....and dumb

  • what an idiot

  • @mixstylee - You are an idiot -you must be filipino!

  • @ropeadopeadope u must be must be an idiot idiot

  • @mixstylee - You *are* an idiot becuase you are *just* like venus. You said: idiot-idiot, just like venus' famous: major-major.

  • @ropeadopeadope You said: idiot-idiot so your an idiot idiot ha ( i didnt say ha ha) ha!

  • @mixstylee - Retard, do I have to show you proper writing skills in English? You are arrogantly and ignorantly TRYING to write:

You are an idiot, idiot! And *just* like venus, you probably *claim* you write *perfect* English. Again you *repeated* the same mistake - and still think you are correct, just like *venus*, but . There's a comma after the first 'idiot', idiot! The comma is there to separate the first part: "You are an idiot". Failure, just like venus.

  • @mixstylee - Retard, do I have to show you proper writing skills in English? You are arrogantly and ignorantly TRYING to write:

You are an idiot, idiot! And *just* like venus, you probably *claim* you write *perfect* English. Again you *repeated* the same mistake - and still think you are correct, just like *venus*. There's a comma after the first 'idiot', idiot! The comma is there to separate the first part: "You are an idiot". Failure, just like venus.

  • @ropeadopeadope "You are an idiot, idiot! And *just* like venus, you probably *claim* you write *perfect* English."

Well thank you for showing me perfect writing skills by starting a sentence with the capitalized word "And" with no capitalization of the proper noun or name of "venus".

OWNED!!!! Double lack of capitalization of the name Venus hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!! TWICE! !!IDIOT IDIOT TWICE!!!!!!!! Show us more of your perfect English writing skills please by all means!!!!!!!hahahahahaha!!

  • @mixstylee - You are a failure over and over again - stupid filipino. You are the ultimate ignorant and arrogant filipino here on YT. The beautiful part is, I NEVER arrogantly and ignorantly said I write perfect English. But you as a filipino - always do. Do you see the arrogance and ingorance you try to hide? In the end, you show your flying arrogant and ignorant colors without even trying. What a stupid filipino loser. You probably speak with a horrid and hateful tagalong accent.

  • @ropeadopeadope OWNED!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Trying to show mixstyle how to write English and you can't even capitalize a proper noun starting a sentence with a capitol And? While missing the capitol in the proper noun of Venus not once, but TWICE!!!!!!!!!! Who is ignorant? That is rather ignorant of you. ROFLOLOLOLOL!

  • @ropeadopeadope Filipino by association..absolutely! I studied the sport of billiards while on assignment in the Philippines, but I am Flemish. I have a horrible Flemish accent. Good luck with learning how to start proper sentences and learning the capitalization of proper nouns. If language arts was a course in which you received failing marks I am sorry. Filipinos are some of the most excellent people in the world, unfortunately you are not. Sadly Ms. Venus does not represent them well.

  • @mixstylee, @timekingman - You both are ignorant and arrgogant filipinos that pretend and fake their broken backward English to their own dumb losers. Yeah, it will work with them, but not with me. Do you know how many scum FILIPINO scammers have said: " I love Venus, she deserved to win, I am Flemish, German, Japanese, Jamican, etc. Desperate losers of the philippines trying to scam me, go figure!?!? You are now OWNED you clown fools! You are the laughing stock of the world, accept it!

  • @ropeadopeadope You are the laughing stock of the world that is trying to scam you. Flemish, German, Japanese, Jamican, etc. are all scamming you, not trying to scam me! LOL!!!!!!!!OWNED by the world! Philippines is the best in billiards and boxing!!!!

  • @ropeadopeadope What have you got against filipinos? it's really just so sad that some people hate us for our accent, our looks, or our colors. Jeez. It's not as if we're HURTING you or anything.

I'm sure you're going to bash me for something or for interrupting your FASCINATING rant about how filipinos are 'ignorant' and 'arrogant', or on my capitalization or my grammar. But, hello. We're in the internet. It's not exactly the best place to judge those kind of things.

  • @Laikkuseia - I don't have anything against them - I just know some of them well - I know their scams - not all filipinos - just the ones I know. The ones I know ARE ignorant and arrogant, the worst combination. The ones here are also ignorant and arrogant just like the ones I know. They say the same exact thing, the exact phrases, comebacks and insults. I guess it's due to the desperate furstrations in the culture? So, I am not judging them, that's just the way they are. Simple enough.

  • @ropeadopeadope Just because the filipinos you know are ignorant and arrogant, which is usually the attitude of those filipinos working abroad (i think), doesn't mean that all of us are. It also doesn't mean that that is the way we are. You can't base the attitude and traits of an entire population, an entire RACE upon two or so individuals. It'd be dealing in absolute, and THAT is arrogant and ignorant.

I'm not bashing you, I'm actually glad you gave me a civil answer. Thanks for that.

  • @mixstylee Ropeadope is the reason why I sometimes feel ashamed of being half filipino. Thank god my filipino side don't all behave like stereotypical pinoys. We're not all the same.

    Peace

  • @WsternCivilization ropeadope thinks proper English is starting a sentence with the word And with a capitol A, ROFL!

  • @mixstylee - STFU monkey! Stop nit-picking on little meaningless shit on comments - you gambling worthless worm fool.

  • @pilayohpiss STFU monkey! Stop nit-picking on little meaningless shit on comments - you gambling worthless worm fool.

  • @ropeadopeadope I quote you, "Retard, do I have to show you proper writing skills in English?" You claim you must show proper writing skills in English. Lacking capitalization of the proper noun Venus. Missing it twice. Starting a sentence with the word "And" with a capitalized A is showing this retard how to write proper English? Show us more proper English writing. You do not claim to write perfect English. You claim to show this retard proper writing in English. Why make mockery of yourself?

  • @mixstylee - I do that on purpose - RETARD! Her dumbass is not worth capitalization -ignorant fool! You are the dumbest loser I have ever encountered on YT. You pick on my writing like a typical ingonant, arrogant filipino would (does). Your writing skills MATCH your broken slum, street slang spoken language; learned on in the back alleys in the philippines. You must have that horrid 'unattractive' tagalog accent too. Are you venus? You must be, she embarassed herself, and now you.

  • To be honest, in my life I might have done a lot of mistakes and like almost everyone in this world I am proud that I am imperfect. Yet, the question is not that if I have done mistakes or not, but the question is that if I have learned from those mistakes or not. Anddd...If I have learned and took experience of life from these mistakes, then I would stand up infront of everyone and proudly say that YES, I have done mistakes and I have learned to live from it. Thank you - answer to Ms. Phil :)

  • @11sanamm1 - Right! I'm not to sure if she would have won, but she would have responsed correctly (without an answer), because this questions does'nt require an answer, only 'admission' through honesty, openness, humility, confidence and self-strength. Does Venus say she takes accountability? Does she admit making these normal mistakes? NO, she ignored the question, silly of her. Venus thought this question was about a immoral incident - which the judges did not even ask, in English anyway.

  • @11sanamm1 - [11sanamm1], I am not trying to beat an dead horse, or play a broken record. But there are some (filipinos) that say: "Venus never made a big-mistake' in her life, so how can she answer it?" So, I ask them, OK, what is a big-mistake - to you? About 15 of these people - ignore my (the) question (just like Venus), I guess they're very confused by it. When I give them the proper definition, and say there is no other English definitions or versions, these people cuss at me.

  • @thodontyx -- Just to teach you what elementary should have taught you... A mistake is: to forget, mis-measure, misinterpret, misunderstand, misjudge carelessness, etc. So what do you mean? Kids don't forget, mis-measure or misjudge when they play. IT'S ALL ABOUT THESE THINGS! I think you have filipino-only special meaning of a big-mistake. I think it is a street-slang phrase that does NOT have an English version or meaning. So, please look in the dictionary for me and see for yourself.

  • The question's design, purpose and intention is to see if a person is open, honest and humble (by not hiding anything), therefore it's easy for a humble person to answer it. BUT, since it's a trick question, a arrogant, secretive and untrustworthy person will act JUST LIKE Venus and avoid and ignore the question. Why do YOU think they ask this question? What is the meaning of mistake to you (according to its definition)? Anyway, it's not the words that matter anyway.

  • Hey. What the fuck? this ain't a chat box.

  • ~~excuse me! being a mexican is not even the last thing I wanna be like. You are disgusting creatures you are filthy and lazy and stupid. And you have the nerve to belittle filipinos. YOu should be ashamed of yourself. On the average Filipinos in the Philippines are more educated and civilized than your people in Mexico. YOu are so close to the U.S. and your people can hardly learn how to speak English. Why is that huh Stupid??

  • As far as the phrase 'big-mistake' is concerned, well I think it's a cultural catch-phrase used in the philippines that Venus refered to in a panicked state. It is not part of an English wording. I know the judge meant "What-is-one (many) " Best examples ('big'/relevant enough) mistake (error/forgetting/misunderstanding/mistaking/miscalculating/misjudging, etc.), because I ask this question when I hire people. Do you think that I ask this question without knowing what it was meant to do?

  • @philamos76 was the judge really interested to know what mistake she did last summer? if the judge expect that the answer is in literal sense her answer is correct. however during job interviews applicants are expected to get screened

  • @77777777439 - No! that's my entire point, it's not wheather she made one certain mistake. Like I said, a humble person would have no difficulty admiting that they make ANY kind of mistakes... ...It does not matter what kind, how big or how anything, the judge the not specify. A arrogant person would (automatically) hide their mistakes like Venus.

Let me ask you, would you trust a person that hides mistakes from you, especially if YOU were their boss?

  • @philamos76 of course not, I tell u this An intelligent person would hide their mistakes also, does that makes them arrogant? Intelligent person won't disclosed what mistakes s/he did, afraid of being expose. In contrast I won't hire an applicant who answer same question literally or honestly. it's simply how to handle the question. to say you would hire a humble person who admit making mistakes. honestly, that's not so intelligent to me. you claim venus being arrogant thats not so humble of you

  • stupid bitch lol AND ugly

  • They should have been ask the same question, one question for top 5, see who got the best answer. I wonder how miss mexico's translator will handle the trick question.

  • @77777777439 - The bottom line is: If you are naturally humble, you will automatically (without thinking) give the answer the judges wanted and admit that you make mistakes . But, if you are naturally arrogant, you will automatically say you make no mistakes, which is a lie and failure to the question's intent. It's like a 'verbal' lie-detector test that Venus failed big-time. A translator will not be a factor in this case due to the design of the question and it's intent.

  • @philamos76 only is thing we came from all different part of the world thus, have different values & views, the question portion should not out score her talent and beauty if the show called miss universe beauty pageant. since Intelligence is the beauty of mind. dont know the score prior to that Q & A portion but I guess she's way ahead of the 4 just a guess

  • @77777777439 yah it is really a subjective thing dependent on how the person View life. just after i saw Venus interview when she was back in the Philippines. she was asked if she would answer they same way if given another chance and accdg to her she will because her view in life is that life is perfect accdg to what God have designed or planned for us, that we should not consider it "mistakes" but instead challenges. she was not just really able to elaborate it maybe because of time constraint

  • @77777777439 - NO, she was well below the scoring to win, EVEN if she answered correctly.

  • @philamos76 Her answer to me is understandable, that a person came from a very Isolated place & never had a job interviews. however a person residing in the USA would have a slum dunk answer to that question, people in the USA are very independent. her team is the one that failed here. she got that far because she had what it takes, if she got that question right would she be crown miss Universe I believe yes.

  • @77777777439 - Like I mentioned, I ask this question in job interviews. You would be off the mark and I would understand your miscomprehension of the question's intention becuase of the cultural difference. It is a TRICK question to see if a person is smart enough and humble enough to admit they make mistakes. If you answed like Venus, I would consider you to hide your mistakes and you would be deemed untrustworthy, and I would NOT hire you based on your non-answer, just like Venus.

  • @philamos76 ask same question way back when on a job interview I answer honestly and in detailed guess what, never heard from that person again. I was interviewed again ask same question I answer intelligently with out telling any mistake, I say I always stand for what I believe and I don't blame other people. I was called for second interview. bottom line is the question is designed to corner a person capability to lie or to show weakness by way of giving in specific. her answer was neither.

  • @77777777439 - What is one big hit from Michael Jackson that makes you miss him the most? Breakdown: What is one (out of many) - Best top song example that makes you miss him (one out of many - big hits). This doesn't matter anyway because it was a TRICK question. So Venus did not understand this question on many different levels. This question is not ONLY for job interviews, it is asked in job interviews too. Not enough points to win if she got the answer correct anyway.

  • I dont see anything wrong with the way she talked. Those filipinos left in the philippines are just jealous. Ugly asses they cant go to vegas LOL.

  • that answer would be her major mistake

  • her answer may be the worst answer of all...it doesn't matter!

at least she has an answer....at least you can still understand what she was saying...

  • @andreeflanco - - You're right! In my opinion, she did a good job answering his question, ONLY, it was her own misunderstanding of the question, and not a proper, direct, or analytical answer to his question - and you CANNOT do that in the Miss Universe pageant and expect to win. She gave an answer to her OWN interpretation of question and not what he really asked, that's all.

  • @pilayohpiss

    well,i agree with that too...

  • This was the EASIEST question amongst the top-5! They ask this same question all the time in pageants and job interviews. What will Venus do when they ask this same question at McDonalds (RuthAdri1)? She will fail again just like she did? I think so, becuse filipinos have their own 'interpretation' of this question, plain and simple.

  • @philamos76 watch this

Miss Philippines' Biggest Mistake: Perfection with no Major Major Problem? (Part 2)

if it was an easy question why canT president of a united states answer it directly

  • @thodontyx -- The reasons: (1) The President cannot admit his presidential, political or national mistakes to the public. (2) The question is designed for pageants and for job interviews (It IS asked in all the time in these settings - for a certain and specific reason). Do you honestly think this question was meant to embarass the person and have them admit their horrible immoral incident? For what reason/purpose?

Do EVEN you know what the reason/purpose of this question?

  • @philamos76 hahaha, it makes no difference. No, i didnt say it was meant to be asked to embarrass.. my point here is your say that it was an easy question, that was a tough question considering she is only given 30 seconds or less to answer it. she just delivered the answer straight from her heart because if you happen to know her background, you will understand why her answer was that. It will take u time to think about ur past and pinpoint about a major mistake uve done (that is if there is)

  • Would it be better to say that she does not makes mistakes? Would a boss want to hire someone that hides their mistakes, or does not learn from them? The crazy and funny thing is, is that I ask this question when I hire people. I cannot belive Venus and her fans STILL (to this day) cannot see the question for what it is, and look at their nonsenacle and multiple excuse they have given. Maybe they do not want to admit this?

What is one - big - game show that has great prizes?

  • @thodontyx - It's a 'trick' question to entice a person to say they DO make mistakes. Even you still cannot detect the questions' justification, design or valid purpose. Venus, for whatever reason, did not pick up on the question's intention. The simple answer would be: she does makes mistakes, sheis responsible for them, and does not blame anyone for her own mistakes. Simple, and to the point. Would the pageant give her an 'unanswerable' question that would take over 30-sec? NO!

  • @philamos76 now ur getting far to my argument. I commented about your say that the question was easy.i am not about what her answer was. And now your saying it was a trick question, thats funny. My mere point is that HER QUESTION WAS NOT EASY AT ALL. even the host said, that was tough after she answered the question. giving that simple answer of yours would not actually answer the question at all because she is asked about her MAJOR mistake which i believe needsa a specific answer then

  • @thodontyx - Did you read what i said? If you are a humble person who has made mistakes and you are strong enough to admit them (small or big), you can say, yes, I make mistakes. BUT, you hides your mistakes, that makes you seem arrogant and "perfect", opposite of the the question enticement. So, the question is designed to differenciate the two people. Venus fell into the arrogant catagory and the question did it's job.

  • @philamos76 you don't have the right to tell her she is arrogant coz in the first place you don't know her personally. You just can't judge a person by just that mere instance in her life. That makes you actually the one who is arrogant accussing someone you never ever met in person. Again, my point is not about her answer. ITS YOU SAYING THAT THE QESTION WAS EASY..IT WAS NOT EASY.. AND A "TRICK QUESTION" WAS NEVER EASY.....

  • @thodontyx - To an humble person, YES, it is automatically easy. To an arrogant person, it's HARD. If you say: Yes I make mistakes, I learn from them, and I don't blame anyone else. The boss will say: I can trust this person because they are honest and open with me. BUT, if you say, I don't make mistakes, what kind? A big mistake? ...Never. The the boss knows that the person will be hiding their mistakes, lying and will be secretive.

  • @philamos76 and please even Miss Mexico who eventually won the title even admits in one of her interview that Miss Philippines question was hard.. duh

  • @thodontyx - A humble honest person will answer this because they have nothing to hide. This is natural and automatic for them. It's part of their personality and attributes. They will say: "I do make mistakes all the time, but always learn from them and never blame anyone else". But a arrogant person and a liar, says: "I am perfect, I have never made mistakes, or had any major-major problems". So it's EASY for a good honest person to answer, but NOT an arrogant one; you're half right.

  • @philamos76 she did not say she never made mistakes nor say that she was perfect.. she said theres nothing MAJOR MAJOR prob that she encountered.its the severity.you differentiate a minor from a major one. for sure she had problems in life and mistakes but she didn't considered it as MAJor one(meaning drastic, life threatening, unresolvable) and by so u mean, the Us Presdnts then and the rest on that video are not humble honest persons coz its not natural & automatic for them to answer it

  • @thodontyx -- Well, if youy are trying to speak for her, which I think you are trying to, then, you have NO clue as to what her personal (PERSONAL) life is all about, do you? How in the hell do YOU know? You DON'T! Anyway, how in the hell can you you determine what is major and what is minor to me, her, the judge or the world. You are arrogant, you are ignorant to EVEN try to make these excuses on behalf of venus. The President cannot give his political or national mistakes to the public.

  • @philamos76 nakaka stress ka ng BANGS.. ang sakit ng pilik mata ko sayo eh

  • @thodontyx - What she meant and what she said; in the miss Universe pageant, is costly. It is the contestants burden to articulate her answer to the judge on what she meant - PERIOD. The judges gave her a question that is asked in McDonald's job intervies (to kids) and she bombed. It is a trick question, and venus was too arrogant to answer it, simple. She claimed she was "perfect" instead of humble. What does a mistake mean to you? Is it different from the dictionary's definition?

  • @philamos76 wow, in an early age: KIDS commit maJOR MISTAKES ALREADY? THEN I PITY them.. porr parental guidance... Again my point has nothing to do about her answer. I STRESSED from the beginning, i only reacted with what you said thAT her question was easy and I STRESSED again, even Miss Mexico, the eventual winner admits in one of her interview after she won that Miss Philippines answer was not easy, that it was Hard

  • Anyway, another misunderstanding by you is; in the filipino translation, you group the wrong words together for a incorrect phrase. The whole unwanted and unreconized English version of proper words: "What-is-one", not what is [one] big-mistake. Like: what-is-one big hit from Michael Jackson that makes you miss him the most? What is one - best example (Not SMALL or INSIGNIFICANT) of a mistake.

  • @thodontyx It's a trick question, and what I have heard so far - a "Big-Mistake" is a filipino phrase, which does no good, and does not apply within the question given to Venus in the Miss-Universe-Pageant. I have also heard English/Americans on Venus' videos, that say the same thing I do. Filipino on the same videos, are saying what the filipinos think. So, you decide which is correct or not. OK, that's my two-cents

  • @thodontyx - You don't know her either, yet, you speak for her, you defend her (without knowing her). You seem to know what she is thinking, understanding and misunderstanding, all without knowing her. So, YOU don't have the right to speak on her behalf anymore. The same goes to you too. How arrogant.

  • @philamos76 wahaha, how could i not know her. her life story was shown in national television. she told the media why she got that kind of answer. before that, i was also one of those who questioned her answer but after hearing her explanation, i salute her for what she stands for and how she views life. And I am not defending her. thats not my point. Im defending my stand that her question was not easy. again if u watch the vid, US pres and others cant answr it coz its really hard

  • You didn’t trick me, you f’d up, you don’t even know what the difference is, LOL. You tried to appear and sound smart, and you got caught, then tried to cover it up and back-pedal by saying: you fell into me trap, BS-artist clarinetwhite trickser bobo stupid monkey. I can say that too, whenever I get caught saying something stupid (as I try to sound smart).

  • @thodontyx - Clarinetwhite, the fact is, YOU do not know her personally. How can you defend a stranger? How can you defend what someone was thinking? YOU CAN'T! But you are so arrogant, you pertend to, to make your own self feel good. What a pathetic way of thinking. You don't know how she comprehends things, interprets questions, processes words, meaning, and phrases. What a bobo you are. Let put it this way; I can never defend your an answer you give to your boss, can I?

  • @thodontyx - The president cannot give his presidential, national or political mistakes to the public. Imagine if he did? This question is designed and asked specifically for job interviews and pageants for certain reason. Not for people walking down the street. It is a trick question to separate humble people from the arrogant, liars from honest people. Venus showed she was the liar, arrogant kind with her elusive response.

Let's clear this up: why do YOU think they ask this question?

  • Well next time she can say. " I fucked up n miss univere 2010. N that was my biggest mistake" that's why am applying here n macdonalds. Lmao

  • @RuthAdri You are spot on! :D

  • i think this is the hardest question among all the finalists. Anybody including all those who give comments here could have answer the question perfectly IF THE QUESTION WAS ASK AHEAD OF TIME just put yourself on the contestant's situation do you think you can think right on the spot your biggest mistake in life?" less

  • sana nag tagalog nalang sya, eh yung nanalo nga hindi naman nag english pero NANALO PA RIN!

  • @jhonsebastiantv HINDI NA NGA SYA NAG ENGLISH, HINDI NYA PA ACTUALLY NASAGOT ANG TANONG.. DAHIL ANG TANONG EH KUNG ANONG "EFFECTS" PRO WALA MAN LNG SYANG SINABI NI ISaNG "effect"

  • miss perfect? everyone done a mistake in there lifes,,i know i have

  • her answer to me wasn't bad, if only she would have gotten into more detail with her confidence it would have been a winning answer

  • Miss Philippines answered to the best of her ability,I truly believe it was a mix-up of her translation of the question. she seems to be extremely intelligent and beyond beautiful, I was impressed with loyalty to her family and her definite love for them She is a winner in every sense of the word
