This videos are helping me alot cuz when I was in my CNA class I didn't put much attention and now that I'll go do my state exam on Friday I'm looking everywhere to get information to pass the exam. Thank you for helping us with the videos (:
I as well have to take my CNA skill test in to days as well. I was tougth to never to turn the resident away for safty issues.But I give her a b+ for getting it done.
if you're with the state surveyor---be textbook perfect. now, if you must deal with 35-40 residents in a nursing/rehab facility during your 12-hour shift---what's she's doing is just fine.
You are suppose to have 4 wash cloths..1 to wash the front,1 to rinse the front..1to wash the butt and 1 to rinse the butt (4)...the water in the basin is never allowed to be soapy..so when you took the soapy soiled wash cloth to clean her vagina and dipped it in the water to use as a rinse cloth (5:34)...now the water has become contaminated and soapy so how are you suppose to clean the patient's butt with dirty soapy water that you used to clean the front?...FAIL...do it right or don't do it
All WRONG she did not use a barrier on the over bed table, she did not wash hers hands, she put the dirty washcloth in the basin of clean water....everybody wants to teach, but not everybody knows what they are doing...
@1966Mishka You are SOOO right! I AM a teacher and I understand! I have been a Nurse Assistant Trainer for 11 years and a RN and these videos make me crazy! lol She also needs a bath blanket in order to wrap her the proper way for pericare...I do like this lady's bedside manner though, her communication is good... She was suppose to wipe the center (urinary meatus), then sides, then top (pubic hair part) then anal area.....and of course, never turn your back on a patient for safety...

This is so different from what I have I learned in my cna class here in Minnesota.. I guess every states have different ways performing.
