I used to watch Mancari play when he played for the Ottawa 67's back in his junior days ....hoping he can do well for the Canucks or their AHL team....
That sounds extremely hard. More like 160 km/h. The hardest shot in skills competition is currently held by Zdeno Chara at 105.2 mph. There are certainly players outside the skills competition who shoots much harder but 160 mph sounds extremely hard. That would be over 250 km/h.

i got scouted by binghampton like 4 years ago, 2 guys from my team went but I was just not ready to totally dedicate my life to hockey. I was 22 and more into girls, drugs, booze and surfing to make the commitment. I most likely wouldn't have made pro anyway so no tears over spilled milk
all of you saying you hit 80's and your 12 or whatever... try aiming it at a goal, getting a real speed gun to register the speed, and then talk to us, we don't care.
I just want to see some tool with no game skills fire a puck 120 mph. These guys are good players with hard shots I'd like to see someone with no skills other than firing pucks...like the kid from Mighty Ducks
hull did have a great shot he owns the record BUT he was skating at 20 or 30 mph , which means he had the whole ice to skate and gain power , not from the blue line to the top of the circles , as it is done in today's all-star games .
i do not believe that at all especially because hardest shot ever recorded in a skills comp was 105 by Iafrate then the hardest shot ever recorded was 106.6 by kilger which was recently beaten by souray who shot 108 like a week ago and all the officials and hockey people in the league and tv hockey people say the record is 105 in skills comp and record ever is 108 now.
and also i wud like to see some proof of bobby hull shooting 118,
...but the fastest shot ever recorded belongs to Bobby Hull. His slapshot was measured at 120 mph and his wristshot was clocked at 105 mph. Although he used heavier sticks than now permitted, Hull's ability was largely due to his strength and technique. (He had 22+ inch biceps)
Someone show us proof. What kind of rader gun were they using? Are you telling me that the hockey players at the time (were not as strong) and the sticks they used (not nearly as good) could break modern shots by that much? What are you going to tell me next, that Jesus is god?
Well, the thing is that shots with the modern hockey-era (Begining with the early Easton aluminum models) are specifically made for harder shots, and just that. Nothing more, really. And the seemingly archaic wooden sticks were just...wood. For a player to clock 118.3 with a wooden stick is not only impressive, but if said player was still in playing condition (Al Iafrate, or Al MacInnis) Could break 100, with putting only minimal effort into the shot.
Yea, I'm a huge hockey fan, and I love history. And I understand that players from the 30's and 40's and 50's and so on were impressive, at least in their own day. But if you look at all sports, there is a very common trend and that is that records get broken. Considering supliments these players take, their life is to play hockey and eating is a science and so are hockey sticks, i just find that all too difficult to believe that someone 40 years ago hit 118 and on one has come close since.
Again, I know what you mean. I does seem a little farfetched that someone would clock a 118 MPH slapper. Times in Hockey have changed, you're right. And that also means that there are more components to focus on, rather than just a blazing slapshot. And, most equipment manufacturers are now going more in-depth into forming hockey sticks, instead of the monotonous "HARD SHOT" which was the former focus of many players.
And, I've never played with anything but a composite so i wouldn't know.
