  • I did enjoy that very much - I do wish though that you had a better camera because this video is of fantastically shitty quality which makes it very hard to see your fingering at times :O(

  • in real french it's «à la Steve Ray Vaughan», not ala, it doesn't exist

    cool video by the way!

  • Thanks for this good, quick lesson with a couple of cool tips.

  • Thank you. My friend can't do a blues shuffle on drums. I sent him a drum vid, and your vid so he can get an idea of what i will be playing thanks. You don't sound sloppy. Just snap your wrist a little less. Do you have a slightly heavyer guage on you low E. Is your action good. and your intonation. mabey you camera mic is distorting what we are hearing. I'd add a bit more distortion. Not much. Thanks, good video. I love srv.

  • Let all the negative people be negative, it doesn't put a cloud over us happy folks... tasty progression there friend! XD

  • Thanks for this its much apreciated

  • Nice job with some finite explanation that is VERY helpful.

We need to thank these guys for sharing........for FREE.

    Give them a break.

  • u da bomb:)

  • 1:00 Voodoo Child höhö

  • not black enough

  • so tough...this one is going to take a while. Good lesson

  • Relaay good , Great little lesson, Thanks T

and dont listen to the critics they have nothing better to do while they wait on their recording contract.

  • I would like to be that sloppy...

  • Niceeee!

  • Great walk through! - that helped me a lot being a beginner- thanks!

  • Seems that SRV WAs sloppy -- so was Hendrix for that matter -- if sloppy is the word for it. It's the blues, man -- you want crystal clear, go listen to Marie Osmond records.

  • sorry jessejames not trying to be a dick, but if you think its sloppy i would say do one of these lesson's of you're own then and post it here on youtube.

  • Lets PoKa...

  • Does not sound like srv

  • Man I wish when I was in my teens they could of had computers.I love playing the guitar but didnt know what the hell I was do'en, no one would teach me.If they would have had computer back in the 70s,no tell'en where i could of gone.Kid now days have so much they can learn, right from home.all I had as a kid was a dam TV.the world wide web wasnt even heard of

  • @mogges1 Same here, lol.

  • I'm so happy I found your videos! It's like CHRISTMAS for me! LOL! Thanks so much for showing us how to be better guitarists and for uploading all the great videos!

  • tune that guitar!!!!!

  • @sw3210 Your comment is out of tune :(

  • What an awesome sound? Did you use any effects?

  • Awesome. Thank you for sharing. Taking time out to show the Blues is OK by my book!!! AMEN

  • hey tabs ?

  • HEY...if you don't have anything to say good....shut the crap up...the man is showing you some cool stuff idiots...so tired of jackasses who have nothing to say good but trash people for no reason....If you don't like a video...MOVE ON retard

  • Nice tutorial. Simple, basic, easy to understand. Great foundation building exercise.

  • Great tutorial. Thx for sharing.

  • its not bad he plays very well. this lesson didnt help me much but just cause i need more info but if you knew what you were doin im sure this would help you spice things up a bit.

  • Anyone talking shit needs to read UpjoanCrawford's comment. After reading said comment post something yourself instead of spewing diarrhea about how bad someone else is. btw, thanks for posting this vid; it's a great resource for aspiring blues guitar players!

  • Sweet - thanks! I'm gonna practice til my fingers bleed - make my offering to the guitar gods!

  • verry good

  • I liked it. I learned something and it was worth my time. Thanx!

  • So many critics on Youtube! If all you naysayer-critics could really play better than this guy, you would not be leaving negative comments. Your knowledge, skill, humilty would prevent you bashing the work of others.

  • i fuckin love him

  • completely wrong played!! wrong technique also. Stevie plays a shuffle with hte upper part of a chord on the upstroke. For instance: The E Chord ist played with high e, b and g string on an upstroke after hitting the base note. then it sounds good. vaughn is much more technique than some people can hear. His techniques are difficult to learn and it takes more than a afternoon to learn them.

  • @guitar789

    faggot

  • Para chabon vas a romper la guitarra XD

  • Great technique, no soul though.

  • very good

  • play the full E major instead of the root 5. 022100.

  • Great lesson, man. you have good technic

  • thanks from Germany Guitar Chrasha Like this

  • did da drumma runnaway assh..

  • NICE! I DID enjoy that!!!

  • His point is not being super smooth. His point is to get the message through. It does get through for me, thanks, I liked the video very much.

  • No...

  • Tune that strat dude and you'll kill em all with that shuffle!!

  • is that in key of deep muddy low and angry? good rhythm I guess, but I sure as hell can't play with that ergh

  • Good job, but maybe you should tune your guitar.

  • Love that sunburst Fender - thanks for the post too

  • Sorry but that is shocking. Maybe it would sound better if you tuned it? Maybe not :(

  • Little suggestion: maybe you should be taking this lesson instead of giving it.

  • Terrible!!

  • Cool video

  • oo yea que bien tocas pive.. vaya tio

  • Nice job

  • Nice job dude...very useful vid

  • @UpjoanCrawford, your fucking right....people talk a lot shit.

  • if your not the one with the balls to make a video no matter what your ability then maybey you should'nt judge

  • i hate when ppl say 'today we are gonna to do' watever it is theyr doin.. as if its a group of people or team promoting this stuff when its just this guy in his room... doesnt that bug ne1 else?

  • dude omg it hurts to listen to this shit. learn how to play guitar please.

  • Thanks that was great, easy to follow. Real nice after a weekend with Dan Patlansky, great South African Blues player.

  • His technique isn't perfect at all, but his theory is good. You can can take this video and polish it up into something sweet. When life hands you lemons, paint that shit gold.

  • dude you shouldnt be teaching a lesson.........you should be taking one.

  • @busajasweyoo I fully agree

  • All your fingers are in the way. Any tabs?

  • @Anxnpact yea the tab is called use your ear, come on dude real guitarists stop using tabs and will start using their ears i mean the videos right there just use common sence and your ear

  • @thegreats12 --- Alrighty then. I receive that and will do it.

  • Agreed- very sloopy

  • thanks for sharing sir! -bigsarge

  • Who would dare criticize this video poster. Not me. Thanks for taking the time and sharing. Good job. If anyone doesn't like your video they can go jump in a frozen lake as far as I'm concerned. :-)

  • i like this!

for those of you who don't already know you can get free blues lessons at

    bluesguitarmastery(dot)co(dot)uk

i checked it out and F'in love it

    its weird,totally free!

  • niiice

check out my playing if you get time ;)

  • I like it

  • i appreciate, youre not keepin it to yourself, youre sharing it with the world, and whoever wants to dis on you can make the same video but better, if they want, but they probly ccant, so thanks for being one of those peeps who shares his talent!

  • i didnt get the last bit at 3:25. im not quite sure what he was doing. someone help me?

  • everyone who is making fun of this guy should seriously get a life! just because he doesnt explain something in your type of mentality doesnt mean you should bash and rant on him! what i can tell you is that you should try doing some palm muting which can mute some of the extra sound of the other strings and make it a better tone but i get the message you're saying and i found it helpful ive been playing for one year and ive learned alot thanks!

  • Thank you !!!!

  • Great Job! Great lesson!!! :)

  • Sorry but your guitar sounds alittle out of tune there bud. And that tone is terrible....def. not an SRV tone by any means.

  • HEY HES TRYING! ok? let the poor bastard be

  • Know why the call it the X Box 360? Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away.

  • 360...that's a full circle, are you meaning 180 degrees?

  • @nchlsnlx It's a joke ...that you don't get.

  • @phadedlife ha ha that makes no sense dude

  • Dude 360 degrees is a full turn not a half turn. You fail.

  • i actually think its a good vid

  • thats sloppy

  • @jessejames1729 Prove it for us!! JesseJöns

  • I'm sorry man but you need to work on your technique - not good enough to be teaching.

  • Hit the high E strings when you shuffle

  • There's only ONE high E string, my friend. If you can do better, post a video.

  • Comment removed

  • Excelent i actually learned that

  • Thats pride and joy

  • lol yeah he just is showing parts of it i guess

  • how did u get this steel sound? when my amp is clean, the guitar sounds clean, i cant get these steel sound of the strings.. how did u get this??

  • Its just the clean sound of a good fender stratocaster, maybe trough a tube amp. Thats the tone :)

  • @gebamst i think he uses a bit of distortion.

  • @t96s he use a bit of crunch but it sound crunchy clean =P

  • @gebamst try fender silver bullet strings thick guage that will help alot.

  • @gebamst you need a strat too thats a given try the second position on the pick up switch, one off the base pick up.

  • is that stevie ray vaughn?

  • no, stevie died in 1990.

  • hahahahaha.......

  • Comment removed

  • Yes Nabo, it's Stevie himself. Stevie knew he was gonna die, so he made this video before it happened.

  • oh damn that's some funny smart ass sh!t radialspokes

  • not helpful to me XD Already new these scales chords.

  • Q: How many guitarists does it take to change a light bulb?

A: 450,001...one to change it, and 450,000 to stand around talking about how much better they would've done it..

  • @UpjoanCrawford

Thats funny. The one about Artists is i think is just as funny.

How many artists does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Two. One to Hold the Giraffe in the bath tub and another to fill the bath tub up with multi colored powertools.

  • THATS FUNNY CAUSE ITS KIND OF TRUE

  • @UpjoanCrawford hahaha amazing... amazing

  • @UpjoanCrawford oops i mean thumbs up

  • @UpjoanCrawford couldnt agree more mate, why cant people put videos on youtube out of the goodness of their heart to help people without getting called black and blue? its not right, if you think you can do it better put your money where your mouth is

  • Comment removed

  • tab

    gd job

  • buddy you are hitting way to many open notes to give a fucking lessons by the way srv tuned to e flat princess

  • chill out man

  • Is it me or does every body that plays guitar ctiques someone else? I mean i play guitar but i dont go around oh u need to tune down

  • that's what makes many people not want to play is all the bogus aholes out there being critics...but then you notice those critics NEVER have videos of themselves playing let alone playing any better. This lesson is good one and will help teach a nice shuffle for beginners.

  • Tune down to eb

But hey i like how you have that tone its sharp

  • tune dow to eb

  • D# =)

  • good job

  • Comment removed

  • Wow this would be a great rythm to play lead by :)

  • @SlimD11 I just did and it was good :)

  • effin' cool....

  • What kind of fender is that?

And what amp is it? :D

    Please reply :)

  • nice lesson, thanks.

  • Thanks for the video, it's sad the way some low lifers hijacked the post for their own satisfaction.

  • You spelled SRV's name wrong.

  • sorry steve ray vaughn then

    grtz

  • Comment removed

  • You didn't capitalize it.

  • What?

  • you're gay idiot

  • i did enjoy that and it helps a lot, especially the turnaround.....cool.

  • ty for lesson, u should me a few things , ignore the jerk offs nerd raging about the title, thanks again

  • nice shuffle maan!

    thanks.

  • Some of the people who make comments on here are real idiots and I would love to hear them play. I can see what this guy is teaching and gives us the general idea.

  • Thanx Man you taught me somethin'! don't listen to the whiners one here and be thankfull someone took the time to put this on the internet so we can learn from it

    Long live SRV R.I.P.

  • i think what the problem is, and also no offence intended, this guy is a bit robotic, not his fault . people are born with feeling or not. he unfortunately is not, but can still teach the techniques

  • He is trying to teach the technique so he has to play as clearly as he can

Generally if you play with feeling its much more muddy

  • Idiot.

  • Dildo

  • I'm afraid the left hand technique doesn't work that much. most of the time, you tend to grab the neck. As a consequence I see that your arm, by its weight only, pulls the neck down and: 1) the guitar goes out of balance, 2) your thumb works as a hook, the muscles of the hand and of the wrist contract and you can't smooth your playing out.

  • nice video, i'd never seen the right hand technique explained like that! thanks!

  • please don't get me wrong but first of all you should get a few lessons yourself before passing your "knowledge" to others. I am big fan of SRV, listenig to his music since forever and playing covers of his songs in clubs. I still can't say that I understand what he is doing and how he performs his licks. how can you?

  • who SRV or the guy in the video?

  • Perhaps you should treat the videos on you tube as they were intented to be received. He doesn't introduce himself as the best guitarist in existence, and with no disrespect to the author, a lot of the videos on you tube are amateurs having a good time and/or trying to pass a little free advice on to others. No harm in that. Give him a break Hendrix

  • It makes it hard to teach something... or instruct someone in the proper technique... when you can't even do it your self. No offense to the guy... at least he's trying... but he can't even do the SRV shuffle.

  • but he introduces himself as Stevie Ray Vaughan in the title of the video. This man is a wannabe

  • coz he's better than u? dah

  • say, ilvaiani, SHUT THE F*CK UP!!!!!!!!!

  • too sloppy and too noisy. it's not a lesson it's guitar abusing online...

  • blues isnt about being perfect its about being depressed, its about having a good, its about expressing your self, its about telling the people who say "oh its too noisey" to fuck off cus we aint concerned about you.

  • Think i might watch a stevie vid now... bye bye

  • quite sloppy there mate, needs more mutin and stuff

  • Whingers, stop your whinging!

  • Sounds awful, Dude

  • too much noisy, how can you tell this is a lesson, this is just the way to do it, this is never the way to do it perfectly....there is a world betwen...

  • At last someone who knows how to teach a lick. I will be searching for more of the same and adding to my favorites.

  • will you please send me the tabs???

  • Good Lord the man just showed you the shuffle and licks, and his thumb is even there to see what he is picking. Give it up on the tabs already

  • wooooooooooooooo show

  • Nice 1, Thanks!

  • learn what u can! damn...

  • super sloppy.

  • Excuse me, Opie...but you're NOT Stevie Ray Vaughn. You know, this is exactly why good things cease to be good after awhile. Youtube may have to limit this kind of mislabeling. It's a HUGE waste of time. If I want to listen to wannabe's, I'll type "Loser" in the search box.

  • someone forgot to take their chill pill this morning
