I found the movie very entertaining and a good account of some of the legends that may have circulated surrounding the story, but I know it's not accurate. It is meant to have all the historical myths and legends about monsters etc. If you bothered checking, the creators mentioned that it was a movie about one of their favourite comics. Okay, the movie was a little over the top, but absolutely no one with any intelligence watched the movie and thought that it was in any way historically accurate. The persians may have been depicted as monsters, but that is just what happens in these kind of movies based on historical events. Pathfinder and Braveheart did this with the English and Vikings. They're just movies loosely based on historical events. 300 is no different.

I found the movie very entertaining and a good account of some of the legends that may have circulated surrounding the story, but I know it's not accurate. I'm sick of people being overly sensitive to things like this without bothering to read about the motives or background to a movie. You can't expect consideration from somebody when you are not willing to the same for them.

It is meant to have all the historical myths and legends about monsters etc. If you bothered checking, the creators mentioned that it was a movie about one of their favourite comics. This 300 contains a lot of anomalies within the storyline. I do not think it is the question of ignorance, perhaps more of a low IQ for both Zack Snyder & Frank Miller. A year ago, the British Museum in a great exhibition showed the real ancient Persia which challenged all this nastiness. Thank goodness, the Brits are waking up to the reality, but the US, I'm afraid, is intellectually 100 years behind!

The worst part was when you superimposed the word "fake" on top of a screen capture of the Spartans fighting a CG elephant. I understood what you meant but don't you see the irony there?

What're you on about? Arya, in this vid,has exposed American and Hollywood racism towards the Iranians. Yes, the battle did take place, he says, but the ancient Persians, contrary to Hollywood's claims, weren't monsters; they were the cradle of civilisation (check out British Museum website for some knowledge).

I will have you know, that beyond my European heritage, I have native blood as well, which goes back as far if not farther than Persian history, regardless of whether it was recorded.

And that pic from 300 of the huge freak-like soldier, come on...You write as if ALL the Persian soldiers looked like that in the movie! That was ONE GUY out of something like 1,000,000 Persian soldiers. Besides, there's always bound to be the person thats born with some genetic mishaps that give him advantages on a battlefield.
