i can honestly play scout, seeing this spy use great tactics it took me months of playing to search for:

1) Check unusual players with your goddamn name.

2) Look at player count and protect Medics, which ironically Heavies can't do.

3) Use speed as an advantage.

4) Crouch & look up during ninja-Spy trying to ninja-backstab you.

5) I can prove i'm the only Scout who doesn't press *X 5* on a regular basis.

6) Mad Milk for team support and Spy-checking.

7) Scattergun is better at killing Spies.

@flyboy248 A good spy can completely ruin any semblance of fairness in a game. A good scout won't turn a game, but a good spy sure as hell might. More than once I've turned well protected points into damn near open houses. My favorite was one time I backstabbed a medic on Well and took his shape without the other four people on the same point noticing, then backstabbed ALL of them. The pyro damn near killed me toward the end but I got three friend invites for that.

But I was just playing for about a week after the Spy/Sniper update, no idling, and after failure to get any hats after playing for huge amounts of times on various servers, I joined a new one, walked out of the spawn room, and got it.

It's an incredibly unpredictable system :S

I play Team Fortress 2 frequently atm, and I never get hats at all during all the hours of normal play.
