don't you think that if your baby has a tummy ache and gas to not be holding him with pressure on his stomach and abdomen to make it hurt even worse. Picture yourself with gas and stomach problems and someone coming behind you and squeezing your stomach and bouncing up and down....
My mum said she used to stand over my crib when I had colic and throw her hands in the air and say "When are you going away to university!?" When I went to university SHE cried.
wow my baby was uncontrollable since 11pm and now its 4am...i cant wait til she outgrows these crying fits...im nursing her right now for the 4th time and it finally workedd...so sleepyyyyyyy ugh
Poor little sweetie. I had a nephew who had colic and screamed for the first 3 months of his life. Almost round the clock. After that, he was a sweet happy boy.
Thank you bdrosserau ! Comments such as those above come from ignornce and I had to deal with ALOT of them during the early days of both my screamers. I am pretty much immune to the ignorant comments now and can just smile and see them for what they are. These people know no different, try not to be tooo critical and again thank you for your support :-)
Yep he sure did, he got better at 4 months and completely outgrew it by 6 months. This was the second of our kids to do this. Our first went right through to 18 months almost and was ALOT worse!
Our son is the same way. He sounded identical to yours - the sound like a cat in a fight, and the hiccuping breaths! I've been looking at other colicky babies on here and it's so funny that one out of hundreds would sound identical. Jasper is 8 months old now and better, though he is teething and still has his fits.
Sad to watch isn't it. Especially when you are sooo helpless as a parent :-( Ben is also now 10 months and fully outgrew it at 5 months. My #1 outgrew it at 18 months.....very traumatic for us all :-(
did both your babies draw up their legs and throw up their arms really quickly? i had a colicky baby and am just now seeing videos on here of colicky babies and something called Idiopathic Infantile Spasms and wondering if they're connected. my daughter had a very hard time at birth and was so incredible colicky, with these "spasms" with her legs and such, and at just a few weeks her eyes would roll back in her head. i'm just wondering if the whole leg thing is a normal colic thing.
Well thanks mommaashleigh but that insanely ignorant comment must be coming from someone who has NEVER had any experience of a colic baby! If you had you would know that any type of movement (including :jumping up and down") is often the only way to calm the colic baby. I have had two now so am somewhat of an expert. But thanks so much for your 10 cents worth.
This poor baby is crying because he is pain. If your stomach hurt bad and was cramping, would you want someone to jump up and down with while holding you??
i hope u dont mind me asking but what does colic mean :/

It does go away eventually.

jumping with the baby is dangerous, it puts too much strain on their head/brain

Did he outgrew it? How soon? :) Do I sound desperate enough? My baby is colicy too, just wondering if it will ever end. We are two months old today.

There are videos on YouTube and on the Internet that offer
assistance in calming a colicky baby. If you check them out
maybe there is something there to help calm your baby.
Good Luck!

They certainly both drew their legs up but I don't recall there being any "spasams" as such :-)
