@machinethis2002 I'm sure you could use newspaper. I never have in the past, but you could try. I always had good results with stronger papertowels, not the cheap, thin kind. LIKE i mentioned in the video, use the half sheet towels. They're easier to handle.
@frankb4449 Have you checked out my progress thread on another site. If not, go to my Youtube main page and check out the link in my info box. modelrailroadforums . com take out the spaces. It covers the layout from day 1 till now.
@Necrosaro420 No. Some areas will be covered with rock molds, so I don't worry about those areas. I'll put the Structolite material, I mention in the first video of this series, over the hard shell to smooth out any major divots or recesses. Structolite is similar to Sculptamold.
Was that brown paint you mixed with plaster of paris? If it is what is the mix ratio? Looking good, can't wait to see trees, bushes and out croupings.
@TheCSXYARDMASTER Thanks the Reading Terminal building is on the back burn. I have so many projects going, I've lost track. I'm about to do a blitz kreig on my models. I have a lot of catching u to do. I hope to get many videos of them up as I go along.
awsome vid its good how you explain your self and go into detail with thing that most other people do not

cool how many layers
djscottdog1 10 months ago
@djscottdog1 I ussually try to make 2 layers on most area. If it's an area near the edge of the layout that might get bumped, I do 3 or 4 layers.

Would someone be able to use newspaper instead of paper towels?

Does it eventually dry so that it doesnt show the cardboard skeleton behind it, or do you just have to keep putting layers down?
