HTC were making Smartphones way before Apple. They even introduced the first ever colour touch screen smartphone.

HTC also used to make PDA's and phones for other companies such as Nokia and Orange.

In 2000, they made a PDA for Compaq called the iPAQ( do you think Apple stole the name idea for iPhone?), the precursor to the Smartphone. They built a very good reputation for high build quality and that still stands today.

iPhone 4G has a front camera but HD2 does not. iPhone 4G has no FM radio but HD2 does. iPhone 4G offers better resolution but smaller screen. iPhone 4G has longer battery life I heard. And HD2 crashes or reboots due to MS Win Mobile I heard.

Overall, considering price tag, HD2 well outperforms. I am waiting for the HD7. Then I will make up my mind.

@hamidrezah I can't answer the battery life question because when the HD2 goes to sleep it switches the WiFi OFF !! I havn't found out how to change that. Its dangerous on Holiday with roaming charges.

Iphone 4 has better resolution. The HTC hds LAAAGGSSS its life away! freezes whenever you wanna' do something. Iphone texting and touchscreen is 10X better. Iphone has a much comfortable size too. Also, Iphone is just simply much nicer

I was shopping around for a phone and couldn't decided between HTC HD2 and Black Berry Storm 2 (Because I'm a BB fan), but after seeing this video it takes a dump on the iPhone 4 and the BB Storm 2 put together. WOW... I'm definitely going to get this phone. Verizon can shove it with their over-priced plans. T-mobile + HTC HD2 is just an unbeatable combo with the plan and phone vs ATT iPhone4 and VZW BB Storm 2.

I don't like my iPhone anymore but after 3 wks of using an HD2 I switched to an HTC Desire. I was lulled by the HD2's huge nice screen, but it should've been called the HTC Reset- because that's all I did. Couldn't even enjoy my HD2 w/o 3-4 freezes a day! Looks beautiful, but WinMo 6.5 is like having rotten liver & garbage Febreze spray. My Desire has run as smooth as my iPhone ever did. It just blows this AND the iPhone outta the water.

@TheFashizy I can totally understand what u mean by having to do the reset thing as I did too on mine. Anyone who plans on buying hd2 has to plan on flashing custom rom, very easy to do and u can always revert back to factory if need warranty service. Flashing is as easy as downloading and sending it to the phone, after some reasearch on how-to. The phone s require tweaking  to get as the one in this video

A third party developer just released a rom that transforms the hd2 into an android phone. I don't even have to look at shitty windows mobile anymore!!!!!

HD2 does crush the iphone 3G and 4G but it does not beat the Evo 4G from sprint only because it has that mini HDMI output that gives you 720p and some other things but if the HD2 had that they would be evenly matched, at least with my HD2 i dont have to pay extra for a feature that is not fully available like that 4G network crap that is not available in all areas but you still need to pay for it.

Really nice Rom as a HTC HD2 owner and having to handle and iphone 4 for a few hours. I think the iphone its a more stable in terms of OS as far as hardware mmm depends on opinion. The HD2 on stock rom its buggy and slow no average will hack his/her phone. Iphone its more dumb down for average user and their no match for their app store. I feel jealous of their app store it gots soo much games and apps puts any app store to shame.
