  • I just removed the plates (drillout) bought a 12 inch 5/16 drill bit , out 6 holes in each baffel (your option) Ground about 1/16 off the edges of the end plate to let the sound out,pop rivited the palt back in place, sprayed flat back on rivits, looks STOCK but sounds GREAT no poping or backfire, just the right sound not offensive...dont understand all the cutting and buggering other videos show...tips look completly stock but louder......

  • how many holes did you drill?

  • dont you lose power to the engine?

  • That;s because you dont drive at highway and freeway speeds for hours at a time

  • Nice, I'm doing mine 2morrow, Did you notice any difference in performance-good or bad?

  • great sound, 5

  • how do you feel the cafe windshield works as far as functionality being as small as it is? how tall are you? im looking at the same bike, just like to hear some specifics from an owner

  • Put some real pipes on that bike and install a power commander. I have a 1500 Mean Streak with BUB pipes. I hate when pull their baffles and act like the have bad ass V-Twin when sounds so hollow. Invest the $300 it's worth it.

  • hehe, i bet the neighbors just love you! :D

  • Very Sweet Sound....

    Five Stars!!!!!

  • Sounds better- did you notice a difference positive or negative in your power / performance? I think I saw something that said you can harm your engine. Is that true? I have a 2009 Vulcan 900 and the stock pipes are way too quiet. Might try this before investing in some Vance and Hines.

  • yes, this will work, but you will need to install a programmer to regulate air/gas...

  • Hey how do i get that winshield for a vulcan customer 900. and how much, and also doe sit work ell with keep the wind out of your face.

  • no back pressure is really hard on the motor.

  • I dunno! Sounds like my 08 900 custom with the baffles!

  • You said "I'm not a motorcycle mechanic but I don't see why it would change anything on the bike since the compression is completed by the ignition of fuel and the pipes are just the exhaust."

After removing the baffles you should re-jet the bike. The amount of air leaving an engine dictates the amount it can take in. take out the baffles and you get more out, more in so the mixture will be leaner. This will reduce the power output, throttle response and will make the engine run hot.

  • it sounds logic... but in the vn900 case, its just a matter of acoustics, it has little/nothing to do w/ the amount of gases leaving the engine. at least on the stock pipes, the debaffled just add a resonator chamber at the end of the exhaust.

the diameter of the pipe used for the stock exhaust on the vn900 remains the same in this process, you just cut down the length of it by ~10cm/4in.

    ps great insight @motoryachtkarilla.

  • really nice bike! sounds great too, at first it was hard to notice the difference but i figure it was the mic quality, it doesn't do justice im sure

  • im doing stage 2 monday!!!!! i put a video up

  • love the sound and the green. i have a VN900 classic and i have most of the stuff on it like bags, sisi, crash bar and so on. but i just got pipes for mine they look stock but they r custom made so if i ever do sell it (but i doubt i will) i can still then sell it stock (dame Australian sale laws) ow and

Grievous1970 is a dutch he speaks like a true closed minded Harley fanatic. its about the ride not the bike. and comparing by racing is just not on with cruisers, thus the name

  • most of us dont need a 20,000+ dollar bike to be happy and ride the roads, enjoy your bike but dont knock companys who are holding there own with HD

  • great video...had a vulcan 750 and looking forward to the 900 soon, plus really like the green besides all the great specs on the bike too

  • ok, this is like the 100th video of a Vulcan you have commented on about a Harley...whats the point???

  • Haha...Grievous1970 you don't even own a V-Rod! I love how you knock what other people own and then compare it to a bike you don't own! Get your solid motor mount Sportster 1200 out there against a Vulcan 900. Just make sure you make a dentist appointment since all of your teeth are going to rattle out of you head if you take it past 5000 RPM.

  • Why do you even waste your time? If you don't like metrics, why even watch the videos?

  • Psh all these guys talking about there sport bikes and how fast they are

I sold my 2005 R6 almost immediately after buying after a year..... I love to ride, but after an hour its useless and un-enjoyable. Im heading to look at the vulcan custom this week... figured id look online first and see how the reviews faired.

I hated my R6 so dont try and say "oh theyre so much better"

Yes theyre better if you want to go fast, but I grew out of that.... I enjoy riding

    Cruisers all the way

  • Mate its a great looking bike and sounds great with the extremely restrictive baffles removed, bugger what the others say.

Harleys look good, but are waay overpriced and have reliabilty issues.

  • One day people like Grievous1970 will realise its about being out there on a bike not the badge the bike has.

Metric, HD, Triumph whatever who cares its us versus them right?

  • Oh and a v rod can only do 0-100 kph in 4.3 seconds . Just as an aside I think youll find the busa does it in 2.6 seconds.

  • So what ? Japs - Harleys, what´s the damn problem ? As long as u stupid retards won´t buy me a harley - i won´t be able to afford one. So please, gift me with a Vrod and stop talking shit ´bout japs.

You can´t ? Oh, then STOP talking shit ´bout japs !

  • i put my cbr 600 against a v-rod he was good for a second till i SMOKED HIM

  • Yours sounds great!

I got V&H slash cut to compliment my sounds... but love the look of the stock pipe... Good move!...

    Thas wussup!

  • you should make a video of how you removed the baffles......certainly is cheaper than buying a new exhaust

  • Put any harley against a 24 year old Yamaha VMAX. My VMAX has had HD tech BEHIND it for years

  • youre just delusional. A Hayabusa or a Ninja Zx-10 or 14 all day long.

I guess you must be a real biker beacuase you ride around with a bunch of other dopes with harley owner club patches on their vests huh? You part of the "Hogs." You must be a real man then... you're just a lame ass

  • yeah, put a heavy chunk of shit like the v-rod up against a Jap busa and see how it works out.

your argument is trite. try to think for yourself sometime Kiwi

  • Fuck you. Ever thought that I didn't care to waste money on a Harley?

I haven't seen a Harley that looks good so far.

The Japs have better bikes that won't fuck up as often.

I debaffled my pipes because I got tired of morons trying to change lanes and run over me on the interstate because they couldn't hear me.

  • @tvproducing Anything to make the cagers hear us better my friend!

  • @tvproducing I have to agree, the japs make a pretty darned good bike (vulcan 900 classic owner and long time motocross racer) but I am pretty fond of the Road Kings, and harleys have def improved and if you do the right things they will last quite a while, seriously doubt an electraglide could out do a gold wing though. Just don't like the general publics attitude toward people on Harleys, but the general public cant tell the dif between a vulcan and a heritage softail anyway....

  • @Dp908 tru... people that have ridden both can tell the difference... the general publics attitude comes from the harley stigma that those guys are the chest puffed out, your stuff doesnt add up to my stuff attitude that some of us grew up seeing. truth is now it so mainstream the hardcore bikers all; ride custom builds and there is no brand anymore except the builders name .

  • ottima scelta,mitico vn900

  • so no problems with the bike cuz i wanna do it to mine so how long did it take u and what tools did u use

  • I forgive you for the black bar.

  • holly hell someone actually knows how to shoot a video! good job on the before and after! thanks for the vid.

  • I have an 08 green custom as well , I put a lowering kit on mine looks alot better than the stock set up, now im going to debaffle it thanks to your video.

  • what type of windshield is that and check out my videos. I liked the end of your video.

  • It's a Kawasaki Cafe windshield. I didn't want one of those old man windshields that are like 3ft tall

  • OH MY GOSH!! my drill started on fire trying to do this!! I was using a 3inch bimetal hole saw, I have heard that you need a 1 inch in the middle to guide it, but couldnt figure it out how to rig it up, how long did it take you to do this? Thanks

  • Yeah you have to use a special arbor that will hold two bits at the same time to drill in tandem.

To cut, grind and paint it took maybe about 45 minutes.

  • LOL HEY I FINALLY GOT IT LOL. hey by the way, would this void your warranty? and would it make it run lean, its EFI but there is no 02 sensor. So would it damage anything, cause Im going to drive 400 miles this weekend and I didnt want to burn a valve or anything...that would suck to break down somewhere in the middle of NO where.. thanks sounds great, the video does not do it justice!!!

  • I haven't had a problem with my bike.

I'm not a motorcycle mechanic but I don't see why it would change anything on the bike since the compression is completed by the ignition of fuel and the pipes are just the exhaust.

It shouldn't cause your bike to run differently (assuming) unless you change the air intake for the bike and then you would need adjustments.

I also would think that if your bike is running "lean" then you wouldn't have pops and backfires within the pipes.

  • If you are worried about it then talk with a mechanic that you can trust and not just someone trying to take advantage of your lack of knowledge and bill you sky high for things you don't need done.

If your bike ever messes up then you can always buy cheap stock pipes for the custom from Ebay for $100 or less and slip them on your bike before you take it into the shop for a repair.

  • Cool thanks man, ride safe, later

  • Nice Bike, Nice Sound. I removed the rear baffel screen from my V900, it sounds great on acceleration but still idles slightly above the original sound. Removed the rear cover plate on the mufflers, sawed off the small extruding pipe and it's just what I want. No after-Ms for me. No probs.

  • The stock pipes for this bike are very attractive!....They help keep the bike what it is...

    They sound great debaffled...

Lovin the stock heat shields also...

    This bike has sweet lines!...

  • It's a pretty slick bike and I'm glad I made it my first bike.

I first was wondering whether or not the 900 would have enough power and I have to say it handles just fine.

  • I just picked up the 2007 Vulcan Custom, the red one. I was thinking of doing this and have heard it has a metallic sound. But after hearing that, I'm doing it fo sho! Hell yeah. Great video!

  • that almost sonds like a wackbagger..linga link..
