Just watched this on Doc channel (had it Tivo'd and finally watched it). Ok, I admit I recorded it because what I've seen, girls in the Israeli Force are usually very cute haha, and I was right! but the storylines and the insider video was simply fascinating. Too bad it has to be about something like war. A+ Documentary!
@Ty311 Oh thanks for that information.I was quietly expecting death-threats for daring to ask such a question! Nowadays EVEN showing interest in anything Israel-related is asking for trouble!!
@revol148 no kidding - I think this doc is low-key enough that it hasn't drawn the attention of the loony tunes yet. In fact, I am surprised that any western media outlet airs it, given their history of bias. Though the website I recommended to you is, in my opinion, very politically biased, it still has some great docs if you get the chance to browse through them all.
@LaBellaSiena Hey that's no problem - just access the documentary through the website and I think you may be able to burn off a copy from there - you need to ask someone a bit more technically minded! How did you rate this film compared to a similar documentary called "Company Jasmine" (there is a clip on youtube) - I thought this was better and the characters more interesting.
@revol148 I actually have Company Jasmine on DVD, I thought that was more about the females role and life within the IDF. Seeds of summer was only about Smadar and the directors relationship it seemed, but it was still interesting to me. It depends on what you are looking for I guess, if you want a real inside look at females in the IDF then Company Jasmine should be your choice :p But I agree with you, the characters in Seeds of Summer were much more interesting.
Who sings the song they were singing goodbye to you?
